Bug#567045: Bug 567045

2012-01-20 Thread BU66ER BAD6ER
Hi,

I seem to have this this old bug since some time but haven't had the
time to report it before. I have had it since September (I think) last
year but never got the time to report it. Now I do.

If I try to save .svg files and repopen Inkscape fails. It also
happens for some other formats, and .eps is one of the few which I can
handle here. Here are the output to the console with my actions and
comments after each #

Bug#567045: solution

2012-01-20 Thread BU66ER BAD6ER
A solution has been found at
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=637294

which apparently was created by
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=626076#134

Removing the sign # in front of file: file does not crash Firefox
any longer. So, this is rather a solution than a workaround now.

IIRC, the sign # was put there by me to avoid the Firefox crashes,
which at the time must have created the Inkscape save errors.

Bug#502018: Iceweasel rendering problems still exist in Iceweasel 3.5.11 in Sid

2010-08-13 Thread BU66ER BAD6ER
The Iceweasel rendering problems still exist in Iceweasel 3.5.11 in
Sid, but only on my ATI Radeon fglrx machine, and not on my nVidia
GeForce nvidia box. Some web pages turn all black, with some text
parts visible. Moving the mouse cursor shows the text (boxes/fields)
below the cursor but does not render the entire web page. Selecting
the entire web page (Ctrl-A) shows all text but no other graphics.

The bug can be repeated in Icedove and I have been recommended to
install the 'experimental' version of libcairo2; but I feel it would
be better to have this bug fixed in the food chain.

The temporary fix is to use any other browser, as this bug is only
shown in Iceweasel/Icedove. I run KDE 4.4.5 and have composite turned
on in my xorg.conf.

2009-03-22 Thread BU66ER BAD6ER
I run Debian Sid 64-bit. About one week ago I lost the stereo sound in my
speakers, at least sometimes. I only had the front left with sound, using

speaker-test -t wav -c2

As I had bought new speakers I didn't think it was in the software. But now
i am not so sure. About at the same time I also received the warnings:

WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/arch, it will be
ignored in a future release.
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/arch-aliases, it
will be ignored in a future release.
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/aliases, it will
be ignored in a future release.
etc

I am not so bothered about the startup-times. But, if it also is the
cause of no sound in my front right speaker it is an issue.

There is no systematic pattern I can discern. But, I had the
impression it might be related to pulseaudio and alsa. At least some
initial stuttering disappeared when I purged pulseaudio.

alsaconf has stopped working:

# alsaconf
bash: alsaconf: command not found

if I run modprobe I receive:

# modprobe snd
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/oss-compat, it
will be ignored in a future release.
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/pnp-hotplug, it

/etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-kernel-nkc, it will be ignored in a future
release.
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/display_class,

To me the boot-up warnings look related to these modprobe warnings.

Thanks for any help!
