Bug#343430: kernel-package: Should be called linux-package

2005-12-15 Thread Beat Bolli
Package: kernel-package
Version: 10.018
Severity: wishlist

Since the former kernel-image-* series is now called linux-image-* in
preparation for other kernels than Linux, maybe kernel-package should
also be renamed.

Or do you plan to use it to build other kernels as well? :-)

Does this still occur with 2.2.7-1? (or even 2.2.6-1)

Yes, unless I put "disable_dns_lookups = yes" in my main.cf file. I'm
still on 2.2.6-1.

Yes. It has been running without problems for a few minutes now. Hey,
and I even found out about incoming.debian.org!
People: If you're stracing a server, use "strace -f -s 300 -o FILE PROGRAM",
then send FILE as a (possibly gzipped) attachment unless you're very
sure that your mail client doesn't word-wrap.
Sorry, I had done so if I had known that reportbug can attach a file or
use mutt to compose the mail... man pages are enlightening!
Thanks for the fast fix!

Hi

including "disable_dns_lookups = yes" in main.cf has cured the problem,
so you can merge this bug with #317143, but the question still
remains why a libc6 update has caused this bug in the first place.

Bug#322771: postfix: smtp(8) can't resolve localhost any more

2005-08-12 Thread Beat Bolli
Package: postfix
Version: 2.2.4-1
Severity: important

Ever since the update of libc6 to 2.3.5, I get the following log entries
when sending or receiving mail (wrapped for legibility):

Aug 12 20:53:21 bolli postfix/smtp[6973]: E8E774BBAA: \
to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, relay=none, delay=1, status=bounced \
(Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=localhost \
type=A: Host not found)

localhost is entered in {,/var/spool/postfix}/etc/hosts.

The resolver libraries in /var/spool/postfix/usr/lib/libnss_* are from
libc6 version 2.3.5.

Each of "host", "nslookup" and "dnsip" is able to resolve the name,
so I don't think the problem is with the new resolver libraries.

Thanks,

Beat Bolli

2006-04-06 Thread Beat Bolli
