Bug#678220: [Bash-completion-devel] Bug#678220: bash-completion: when running aptitude purge tab I get error
Hi David I attempted to reproduce the problem to provide the debug output you requested. I could not reproduce it in a new terminal. So I returned to the original and the problem was there. However upon closing and reopening it the problem went away. So I suggest closing the bug as unreprucible. Sorry for wasting your time. Bug#643790: [Pkg-cups-devel] Bug#643790: Bug#643790: /usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf failed when printing via samba to cups pdf
Hi Ben, I am the developer of CUPS-PDF. I have been following this bug but not been able to reproduce it so far. There is one question that might help to narrow down the possible culprit: when printig via Samba, the username is whyteb. Is this user known on your Linux box or is it supposed to do an anonymous printout? In case it is supposed to be an anonymous printout: what are the ownership/permissions on /home/ben/PDFS (if that exists at all) as well as /home/ben and /home? And is /home/ben a local filesystem or some Samba/NFS/... volume? Regards, Volker Hi Volker The user whyteb is my windows username on my corporate machine. It should be an anonymous print out as I share my printers to anyone on my local network or I am trying to. The /home/ben directory is a local filesystem on the CUPS box. The permissions on /home/ben/PDFS/ are drwx-- ben ben The permissions on /home/ben/ are drwxr-xr-x ben ben The permisions on /home are drwxr-xr-x root root. Bug#643790: [Pkg-cups-devel] Bug#643790: Bug#643790: /usr/lib/cups/backend/cups-pdf failed when printing via samba to cups pdf
The CUPS log mentions that the cups-pdf backend crashed with error 11, while the CUPS-PDF log says that it succesfully printed the file. Contradicting. Could you try the following steps: 1. sudo /etc/init.d/cups stop 2. sudo rm -r /var/log/cups/* 3. Uncomment LogType in /etc/cups/cups-pdf.conf and change its value to 7 then save the file. 4. sudo /etc/init.d/cups start 5. Print one sample document locally. (re-enable the PDF backend if necessary, if CUPS disabled it in response to an unexpected situation) 6. Print the exact same document over Samba. 7. sudo /etc/init.d/cups stop 8. e-mail /var/log/cups/cups-pdf_log and /var/log/cups/error_log to 643...@bugs.debian.org again. Thanks! Martin-Éric Hello I have followed those steps as you asked, trying to print the bbc news home page. The local one was fine, the one over samba produced an error. I have attached the logs as asked. Not sure how to debug then. Cheers, Julien Hi Julien Just some additional information the mouse, keyboard is a microsoft wireless desktop and connected via a bluetooth usb dongle. Also it is connected via a kvm, I am pretty sure I havent switched mid trace, but I wonder if its worth trying to reproduce this without the kvm in the way.
