Bug#806970: gnupg-agent: /etc/X11/Xsession.d/90gpg-agent reads "$GNUPGHOME/options" but gpg doesn't use it anymore

2015-12-03 Thread Brian DeRocher
Package: gnupg-agent
Version: 2.1.9-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

As gpg reports this message:

gpg: NOTE: old default options file `/home/brian/.gnupg/options' ignored

I removed the file. However

/etc/X11/Xsession.d/90gpg-agent will grep for use-agent in this file. If the
file is not present, grep returns 2. This fails the test and GPG_AGENT_INFO is
not properly exported.

I saw this too. Unchecking and rechecking Prefer HTML to plain text seems to

0.0.svn6502+dfsg3-1 is to be installed.
  josm : Depends: libmetadata-extractor-java ( 2.4.0) but 2.6.4-2 is to be

Bug#729217: no crash

2014-06-04 Thread Brian DeRocher
I'm using Digikam 4.0.0-1. From the system tray Device Notifier, i pick my
Nexus 4 and Download Photos with digiKam. DigiKam opens, opens the importer
window, and does not crash. The process

digikam --import-from-udi
/org/kde/solid/udev/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:10.0/usb5/5-2

spikes the CPU. It did not look like my usage of hard drive space was growing.
The second digiKam window becomes unresponsive. I killed digiKam 3 times.
Starting it the 4th time, it said the download completed, whatever that means.
Again, not responsive.

The only 2 files updated in ~/Pictures are

2014-06-04-22:42:23.0225448020 ./thumbnails-digikam.db
2014-06-04-22:42:32.4185443710 ./digikam4.db

At first the import window is responsive. Looks like i have 1,763 pictures.
The slider on the scroll bar will jump up, as if hundreds of new thumbnails
just loaded. Then it freezes.

I will now try the copy-before-import method.

Bug#616093: plasma related

I'd like to add that since i've been having other issues [1], i decided to

$ kquitapp plasma-desktop
$ mkdir plasma_today
$ mv plasma* plasma_today
$ plasma-desktop

Amazingly LibreOffice Calc started up fine.

under a panel! And KDE doesn't remember that my extra monitor is left of my

Hope this helps,

Bug#616093: LibreOffices file open dialog the whole system gets halted (with nouveau)

2011-04-28 Thread Brian DeRocher
I'm experiencing a similar issue. I'll browse with KDE Dolphin to an OSD file,

do nothing. No keyboard control.

KDE: 4.4.5

I have a laptop and one DVI monitor. I was getting the Xorg font error, so i
installed ibus. That did not help. Didn't check if the error message went
away.

More specifically when LibreOffice opens up, the right screen repaints itself
like the left one. localc did open and appeared to be running fine for 5
seconds. I can drag the window around. This repaints the screen to what it
should be, except the KDE Task Manager never did repaint itself correctly.
Then i switched to Kmail and the system froze up.

I'll be using KSpread for now.

Bug#461580: xserver-xorg-video-ati: Recent upgrade causes machine crash

2008-01-19 Thread Brian DeRocher
Package: xserver-xorg-video-ati
Version: 1:6.7.197-1
Severity: important

This bug report is similar to my previous one (#457563). After upgrading kdm
starts and freezes the system. After removing kdm from /etc/rc2.d, i tried to
start it up manually. This also fails. I tried startx and that fails too.

I can ping this machine, but i can't ssh to it. I can't switch to a virtual
console.

I did not test the resolution in #457563. At that time i downgraded to a
previous
version. Today is the first time i upgraded again.

Bug#338316: CPU spikes on PowerMac

2006-02-04 Thread Brian DeRocher
Perhaps the issue i'm having is related to this one.

I was running 2.6.15-1-powerpc64 on my (dual G5) PowerMac7,2.
When i start the KDE sound system, using ALSA, artsd will spike
the CPU to 100%.

If i disable that and tell XMMS to use ALSA directly, xmms will
do the same.

I recently built a 2.6.16 debian package, using my old config,
and got the same results.

Any suggestions?

Brian
