Bug#306917: shared-mime-info: new version cause wrong icon and menu on zip file in nautilus

2005-04-29 Thread Carlos Liu
Package: shared-mime-info
Version: 0.16-1debian1
Severity: normal

I upgraded shared-mime-info to 0.16-1debian1 yesterday. After that, if
I do a single click on a zip file in nautilus window, the icon of that
file will become OpenOffice.Org, and the "Extract Here" entry in right
click menu was disappeared.

Could you fix it ASAP? It's really annoying to have problems on such a
important file type. It affect both GNOME 2.8 and 2.10.

Bug#291092: tasksel: Simplified and Traditional Chinese tasks update

Packages been droped only from chinese-s:
1. xcin
- Although it support Simplified Chinese, but no one use it as I knew.
2. pydict
- It's a dictionary Traditional Chinese users.

Packages been droped only from chinese-t:
1. stardic
- It's a dictionary Simplified Chinese users.

Packages been droped from both chinese-s and chinese-t:
1. yiyantang, yh, kon2, chdrv
- Nobody use them anymore, their functions can be found in other
packages which are easier to use.
2. tfm-arphic-*
- They are only useful to latex, but TeX isn't a part of tasksel.
3. cce
- not in sarge, too many RC bugs, and they won't be fixed in the
near future. Upstream had stopped working on it for years.
4. gs-cjk-resource, cmap-adobe-gb1, cmap-adobe-cns1
- non-free stuff
5. psfontmgr
- most modern desktop applications can do print job without it.

New packages been added:
1. scim-chinese, fcitx (into chinese-s-desktop)
- The two input methods are very popular in China nowadays.
2. scim-tables-zh (into both chinese-s-desktop and chinese-t-desktop)
- same as above, but also been widely used in HongKong.
3. rxvt-unicode-ml, mlterm (into both of two chinese-*-desktop)
- very good Chinese support, and own many users.

Packages been moved from chinese-* to chinese-*-desktop:
1. all packages in chinese-*-desktop now except kde-i18n-zhcn(tw).
- They need X.

How can I test the new tasks? Should I replace the old tasks files
by the four new files, build it into deb package, and test it in a new
installed base-system? Or, is there any easy way to do it? I will do
it ASAP after you give me an answer. :)

OK, thanks for the reply.

It's quite strange that I produced so many typos and duplicated words in
one mail. Sorry about that. ;-)

Bug#294754: ITP: ttf-arphic-newsung -- "AR PL New Sung" Chinese TrueType font by FireFly

Can tfm-arphic-bsmi00lp and tfm-arphic-gbsn00lp use ttf-arphic-newsung?
I think they must explicitly depend on the corresponding ttf-arphic-*
package. Maybe a tfm-arphic-newsung package can resolve this problem. I
heard that Asho Yeh (from moto) is working on it.

And I think "conflict" shouldn't be introduced in the package even when
dependency problems are resolved, because there is no real conflict
between the firefly newsung and the old arphic font. No harm to install
both of them. Please read Debian Policy 7.3 about conflicting relation.

IIRC, the bitmap in this font is under GPL. You should mention it.

only two glyphs?
Should it be "two sets of glyph"?

Maybe you forgot the capitalization, at least in "Chinese". I think "s"
and "t" should also be capitalized.

Did you mean "embedded"?

Should be "at both ... and ..."?

I'm not a native English speaker, so I could be wrong. Maybe someone
else will give you a better suggestion.

Yes, I packaged it several month before, and still maintain it.
Currently, I'm preparing the package for the new release. It will be
available before next Monday. The repository is
http://chinese.alioth.debian.org/gnochm . I filed a RFS in December
2004, but no sponsors are interesting in it. :( Maybe, I should try
again.
