Bug#921305: zfs-dkms: Also fails for new install of buster (with buster-packports), and new install of bullseye.

2019-09-02 Thread caysho
Package: zfs-dkms
Version: 0.8.1-4
Followup-For: Bug #921305

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
- first attempted upgrade from stretch
- then attempted on new install with buster (and buster-backports)
- then attempted on new install with bullseye

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Incomplete zfs installation resulted from upgrading from stretch.
The same happens after ran the following on new installs indicated above:
apt install dkms spl-dkms

   * What was the outcome of this action?
Failure of zfs filesystem module.
See below for logs, hopefully there is enough information to assist.
The following website suggests dkms and spl-dkms should be installated first,
but due to dependancies the other packages are pulled in automatically.
https://wiki.debian.org/ZFS

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Correct installation of zfs.

Bug#807155: hplip: new upstream version 3.15.11 available, please package.

2015-12-06 Thread Caysho
Package: hplip
Version: 3.14.6-1+b2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Running a print server on a Banana Pi, with an HP LaserJet P1102.
This printer requires an HP supplied plugin for hplip.
The current version available in jessie does not support ARM based machines.

hplip starting from version 3.15.4 has this support, and compiling it from
source works.
The newly provided plugin compiled for ARM by HP is retrieved.

Refer
https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplipsetupdebian/+bug/1152219
for futher context.
