Bug#929745: cinnamon-core: cinnamon needs python-gi for certain downloadable applets

2019-05-29 Thread Christian Hawkins
Package: cinnamon-core
Version: 3.8
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Installing World Clock Calendar from Cinnamon Applet Installer

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
Trying to change the world clocks

   * What was the outcome of this action?
configuration of world clocks is not showing

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
 configuration of world clocks working

After poking around in the sourcecode for World Clock Calendar I found that
python-gi is referenced, but was not installed. Please add python-gi as
dependency.

Bug#675363: I had the same problem but it went away

2016-03-21 Thread Christian Hawkins
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

Hi,

I was having the same issues on my HD Graphics 5500, last seen on
jessie with original kernel + backports xserver-xorg-video-intel.

However since getting the backports kernel, too, this problem
disapeared. It also did not reappear in stretch (testing at the time
of writing) so far.

Your report is quite old, can you verify it still exists?

Best Regards

Bug#797961: Workaround I used on jessie

2015-11-27 Thread Christian Hawkins

Hi,

on jessie, after invoking ecryptfs-setup-swap it would fail activating
the swap. This is due to some internal mechanism on cryptsetup part not
setting up the mapped device if partition type does not match.

As a workaround I had to set the Partition type to "Linux" (83 in MBR, I
think 15 in GPT) - after a reboot encrypted swap would be activated

As for this problem: Please put it back in testing. The problem does not
lie within ecryptfs, the setup is correct. It is cryptsetup not handling
it properly.

Bug#797821: nemo should pull gvfs-fuse as dependancy for smb to work properly

2015-09-02 Thread Christian Hawkins
Package: nemo
Version: 2.6.7-1
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Dear Maintainer,

in a default cinnamon install, nemo is included. With this standard setup,
mounting smb shares in nemo (and copying) works just fine. Hoewver, when
opening a video in vlc or totem, it fails, claiming that the file can not be
found.

It turns out, that manually installing gvfs-fuse (and rebooting) solved the
issue, as now, smb is also mounted on the filesystem u nder /var/run/...

I suggest to put this package as dependancy as this is the expected behavior.
If nemo is the wrong place, please direct me (or move) this issue to the
appropirate project

Best Regards
Christian Hawkins

Bug#793291: murrine-themes: Bluebird Theme broken in gnome-terminal

2015-07-22 Thread Christian Hawkins
Package: murrine-themes
Version: 0.98.10
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Bluebird Theme seems to be broken since today's dist-upgrade.

Commandline: apt-get dist-upgrade
Upgrade: multiarch-support:amd64 (2.19-18, 2.19-19), libvte-2.91-0:amd64
(0.40.2-1, 0.40.2-2), debconf:amd64 (1.5.56, 1.5.57), p11-kit:amd64 (0.23.1-2,
0.23.1-3), gir1.2-vte-2.91:amd64 (0.40.2-1, 0.40.2-2), libc-dev-bin:amd64
(2.19-18, 2.19-19), libc-bin:amd64 (2.19-18, 2.19-19), libc6:amd64 (2.19-18,
2.19-19), iceweasel-l10n-de:amd64 (38.1.0esr-2, 38.1.0esr-3), libidn11:amd64
(1.30-1, 1.31-1), p11-kit-modules:amd64 (0.23.1-2, 0.23.1-3), iceweasel:amd64
(38.1.0esr-2, 38.1.0esr-3), debconf-i18n:amd64 (1.5.56, 1.5.57), base-
passwd:amd64 (3.5.37, 3.5.38), xserver-xorg-video-intel:amd64 (2.99.917-1,
2.99.917-2), libp11-kit0:amd64 (0.23.1-2, 0.23.1-3), libvte-2.91-common:amd64
(0.40.2-1, 0.40.2-2), locales:amd64 (2.19-18, 2.19-19), libc6-dev:amd64
(2.19-18, 2.19-19), libffi6:amd64 (3.1-2+b2, 3.2.1-3)

Since the update, it won't apply settings for gnome-terminal anymore (see
screenshot). The scrollbars have the theme, the vt does not.

*maybe* it is due to the libvte update, and it's libvte's fault, but other
themes seem to be able to change the background.

I am using cinnamon

I am happy to provide more information on request
