Bug#1072688: gnome-shell-extension-tiling-assistant: Panel icon is not shown when activated (advances mode needs to be turned on - then 3rd tab in settings is shown)

2024-06-06 Thread Christian Lauinger
Package: gnome-shell-extension-tiling-assistant
Version: 46-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

1. Enabled advanced mode
2. on the now visible 3rd tab "Layout" there is an option to enable a panel
icon
3. enabling the panel icon does add a button to the panel but with no icon.

Reason:
Upstream there is a media folder which seems not to be deployed by the deb
package.
Copied it from github to "/usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/tiling-
assistant\@leleat-on-github/"
and restarted gnome-shell.

Now the icon is shown.

error and then I restarted gnome-shell (Ctrl-F2 => r => enter) and it
went away.

Bug#996935: fixed in gnome-shell-extension-shortcuts 1.2.3-1

2021-12-02 Thread Christian Lauinger
In the deb package the prefs.ui file is missing.
I also fixed a bug upstream (tag 1.2.4) and while testing it I purged
the packge and installed it new and found the missing file.

I updated to gnome shell 41 (sid). Still the dialog works.
Is really the newest version of the extension used ?

ShortcutsPrefsWidget is only used for major version of gnome returns 3
(Config.PACKAGE_VERSION[0] == 3) - which seems to be the case.
I dont know why tbh.

NA
   * What was the outcome of this action?
it also opens when I press the german Umlaut "ä"

Hi !

Same here and but I use nvidia-driver (367.44-1). It worked with
previous 3.20 version so I downgraded to a snapshot version from 12th
of September before the

buggy version was migrated to testing.

Here is how its done:

Dear Maintainer,

If I add Empathy to 'Startup Applications' to start it with '-h' option, I'll
never be able to open the contact list window.
1. Make sure Empathy is not running. If it is running quit it, or kill it from
the system monitor.
2. In a terminal, start empathy using the start hidden option, as follows:
$ empathy -h
3. Notice that empathy is now running in system moitor.
4. From the activities menu/favorite apps laucher try to start Empathy.
5. The Empathy Contact List window does *not* appear, as expected.
6. Notice that empathy is still running in the background in system moitor.

Thank you Christian !

I downloaded the with apt-get source asterisk-chan-capi from unstable,
patched it with the chan-capi-devstate-cachable.diff and build it like
you described it.
It also asked for dpkg-source --commit before it was possible to build
it. Now my box is up and running with 1:1.8.13.1~dfsg-3 and
asterisk-chan-capi.

Thanks again !

 Hi Christian,

It seems you are using asterisk-chan-capi which is not even in wheezy...

I had the same problem as you: Because I am still running squeeze, I had
to use the asterisk version available from squeeze-backports (still at
 1:1.8.13.1~dfsg-1~bpo60+1).
In order to use chan_capi with it, I backported asterisk-chan-capi from
unstable (1.1.6-1) in my private repository.
Then asterisk 1:1.8.13.1~dfsg-2 became available and I backported that
too and after installation: boom, segfault when loading chan_capi. :(

The problem now is that the fix in asterisk for CVE-2012-5977 introduced
an incompatible change in the module API. All stock asterisk modules
were of course updated, but the out-of-tree modules like chan_capi were not.
Because of bug #694793 (or, more precisely, #694805) the package
management system doesn't know about this incompatibility.

What you need is a new (yet unreleased) version of chan_capi with a
(rather simple) fix taken from the chan_capi svn repository (see
 attached patch).
If you're really desperate, you can try to build the package yourself
from my backported source package at
 http://www.bbg.xssoft.de/debian/pool/main/asterisk/asterisk-chan-capi_1.1.6-1~bpo60+2.dsc

This is just my private repository, so it only has binary builds for
 squeeze on i386.

Hi Christian,

thanks for your answer.
I currently solved my problem by installing the 1.8.13.1~dfsg-1
package from snapshot repo. But this is only temporary.

The asterisk_chan_capi package is architecture independent (any). Can't
I just use the one you build ?

Thx and greets

Chris
