Bug#442184: vim-gtk: digraph wrapping at end of line causes misdrawn following line
Package: vim-gtk Version: 1:7.1-056+2 Severity: minor Open Vim, either at console or the GUI. Type a screen width of text, followed by a newline, then some more text on the next line. Go to the end of the first line of text and do a for append. The cursor shows at the start of the next line, in front of (or on the first character of, in console mode) the first character of the next line, to indicate that your line is about to wrap. Rather than typing a character, hit ^k to enter a digraph. After entering the first character of the digraph, it shows up over the first character of the following line, after the cursor in the usual way. But when you finish the digraph, the line wraps, and the hint of the first character is not erased until something else causes the line to be redrawn. The same effect happens when entering a character with ^v, and it happens regardless of the setting of 'lbr'. As per instructions, I tried with -u NONE -U NONE and the result is the same. The effect is also the same on my other box, another amd64 but only uniprocessor. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (400, 'testing'), (100, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages vim-gtk depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 1.18.0-2 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.6.1-2GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcairo2 1.4.10-1+b2The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libfontconfig12.4.2-1.2 generic font configuration library ii libglib2.0-0 2.14.0-2 The GLib library of C routines ii libgpmg1 1.19.6-25 General Purpose Mouse - shared lib ii libgtk2.0-0 2.10.13-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libncurses5 5.6+20070825-1 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libpango1.0-0 1.18.1-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libsm62:1.0.3-1+b1 X11 Session Management library ii libx11-6 2:1.0.3-7 X11 client-side library ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.9-1 X cursor management library ii libxext6 1:1.0.3-2 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxfixes31:4.0.3-2 X11 miscellaneous 'fixes' extensio ii libxi62:1.1.3-1 X11 Input extension library ii libxinerama1 1:1.0.2-1 X11 Xinerama extension library ii libxrandr22:1.2.1-1 X11 RandR extension library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.3-1 X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxt61:1.0.5-3 X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii vim-common1:7.1-056+2Vi IMproved - Common files ii vim-gui-common1:7.1-056+2Vi IMproved - Common GUI files ii vim-runtime 1:7.1-056+2Vi IMproved - Runtime files vim-gtk recommends no packages. -- no debconf information signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#308720: corrected patch
The last patch I submitted introduced a less severe bug, in that if you sent phosphor a line of the exact width, it would ignore all carriage returns, not just the first one, so there was no way to have a line of the exact width followed by a blank line. Please find attached a corrected patch. Sorry for any confusion, Daniel -- Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a spam into the net: for they were phishers. Bug#308720: xscreensaver: phosphor handles line-wraps badly
Package: xscreensaver Version: 4.21-3 Severity: minor Tags: patch -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 If phosphor wraps a line because the cursor has reached the end, and the piped input then sends a CR or LF because it is wrapping at the same width as phosphor, a blank line appears on the screen. This is particularly annoying when using xscreensaver-text to produce input, as xscreensaver gets it to wrap text (in)appropriately at word breaks. Other programs that handle similar input (e.g. vi) take special steps to avoid this behaviour. The attached patch changes the behaviour thus: On receiving a CR or LF, it checks to see if the cursor is on col 0 and the last character was neither a CR nor a LF. If this is true, the last line must have wrapped and the character is ignored. This only affects - -pipe mode. If you don't apply this patch, please find some other way to fix the annoying behaviour. Package: ssmtp Version: 2.61-2 Severity: wishlist Tags: patch -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 The included patch adds an extra boolean configuration item, RerouteAllLocal. When set to yes, this sends mail to all local users to the root address instead of just mail to users of UIDs 1000. It only has this effect when the root option is set i.e. when mail to users 1000 would get rerouted. The default value is no, which gives the same behaviour as before. Please note that my debian packaging knowledge could be written on a piece of fusewire, so this patch might not work for everyone. Bug#306863: audacity: segfaults when opening empty file
Package: audacity Version: 1.2.3-1 Severity: normal Starting audacity and then attempting to open a zero-length file causes it to segfault. The same occurs if you specify a file on the command line. Running from binaries I have no debugging syms compiled in, but a gdb backtrace follows: #0 0x0813ee9f in putchar () #1 0x0813e44f in putchar () #2 0x080baaf9 in wxListItem::GetClassInfo () #3 0x080b7dfa in wxListItem::GetClassInfo () #4 0x08066fb1 in ?? () Looks a bit unhelpful to me but I hope it is otherwise.
