From

it should be fixed in hplip 1:3.23.12-5 (on arch linux).
Can you upgrade hplip to version 3.12.12 (or higher)?

Thanks!

I linked it:
# ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1

and now its working.
Maybe it's a bug in libgcc1. But I cannot upgrade it to version 10.1.0 because
of missing
dependencies to gcc-10-base (UNAVAILABLE).

Do you mean libgcc-s1? It's already installed because of dependency to apt.

I have the file under /usr:
# ll /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1

My /etc/openvpn/server.conf is a (soft) link

(Sorry for my long response time.)
Yes I know this file.

I enable openvpn via systemd template. My config is (and has not the
best name) under:
/etc/openvpn/server.conf

So I enable it via:
systemctl enable openvpn@server

If I also enable the one form github via:
systemctl enable my-openvpn@server

And now diff those two files (see attachment because of the long lines)
they are different.

I'm not a systemd expert. Maybe I understand something wrong.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advanced!

Bug#858381: Openvpn inside systemd-nspawn stops shutdown of container

2017-03-21 Thread Daniel Schröter
Package: openvpn
Version: 2.4.0-3

Hello,

I'm using Debian stretch via systemd-nspawn inside a container:
root@ivy:~# machinectl
MACHINE CLASS SERVICEOS VERSION ADDRESSES
stretch container systemd-nspawn debian 9 192.168.178.43...

1 machines listed.

If I try to stop the container via
machinectl poweroff stretch
it hangs. If I stop (inside the container) openvpn before I poweroff the
container it works fine.

If I replace the systemd service file with this one:
https://github.com/OpenVPN/openvpn/blob/master/distro/systemd/openvpn-server%40.service.in
I can shutdown my container as expected.

Can you update the service file?

Thanks in advanced!

Bug#787489: curl: vmware crashs with signal 11

2015-06-02 Thread Daniel Schröter
Package: curl
Version: 7.42.1-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

since upgrade of curl from 7.42.1-1 to 7.42.1-2 vmware stopps with signal 11
during start.
Is there a problem with libcurl3-gnutls (#342719)?

$ vmware --version

I can confirm this. I downgraded systemd to 208-6 and everything is
working fine again.

Bug#740942: Indeed I have left over for samba and even for samba-ad-dc in various rc*.d

2014-09-19 Thread Daniel Schröter
Hello,

On Tue, 26 Aug 2014 19:43:57 +0200 Michael Biebl wrote:
> Might be misunderstanding.
> What you should remove are the symlinks to /etc/init.d/samba.

I just remove samba symlinks with
# update-rc.d -f samba remove
and the problem still exists. I just have the problem since the systemd
upgrade to 215-4.
I wrote my information to bug #762002. So I copy the interesting parts
from there:
Maybe the problem is the running process
bin/systemd-tty-ask-password-agent --watch

I tried to kill (with -9) it and it changes to
[systemd-tty-ask]

I moved /bin/systemd-tty-ask-password-agent away but now systemctl is
and I also have to wait for 5 minutes
 1964 pts/200:00:00 systemctl
 1965 pts/200:00:00 systemctl
 1966 ?00:00:00 samba
 1967 ?00:00:00 samba-ad-dc
 1972 ?00:00:00 systemctl

I found a similar problem here
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=737825

Yes, my systemd is also running with PID 1

I tried to debug it with:
http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd/Debugging/#shutdowncompleteseventually
but I didn't get a /shutdown-log.txt file.

So I stopped samba with:
# systemctl stop samba.service

I attached the (debug-)dmesg from stopping samba. I can't see the problem.

Has someone else an idea?

Same here.
Also if you try to stop it before:

I think the problem is the running process
bin/systemd-tty-ask-password-agent --watch

Bug#753914: snort: Permission problem with /var/run/snort*pid

2014-07-06 Thread Daniel Schröter
Package: snort
Version: 2.9.5.3-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

stopping (or restarting) snort result in a message:
snort[2674]: Could not remove pid file /var/run//snort_eth0.pid:
Permission denied

Because snort has "snort"-user permissions the file has the wrong
permissions:
# ll /var/run/snort_eth0.pid
-rw-r- 1 root root 5 Jul 6 09:05 /var/run/snort_eth0.pid

I think the problem is, that the init script creates the pid file (with
root permissions) and later on the snort process (with snort
permissions) tries to delete the file. After snort exits the file is
deleted by the init. Maybe the init-script can change the permissions?
BTW: I'm using systemd

Thanks for packaging snort!

Bye

Hi,

before there is a version 3.0 it would IMHO be better to have a version
2.0.0.21 fast to fix the security bugs mentioned here:
http://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/thunderbird20.html#thunderbird2.0.0.21

Later on your can unhurriedly build version 3.0.

Bug#475451: [hostapd] prism54 driver initialization failed on startup

2008-04-10 Thread Daniel Schröter
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Package: hostapd
Version: 1:0.5.10-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hello,

if I try to start hostapd with my prism54 I get the following error:
# /usr/sbin/hostapd /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
Configuration file: /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
Opening raw packet socket for ifindex 8
ioctl(SIOCGIFINDEX): No such device
prism54 driver initialization failed.
rmdir[ctrl_interface]: No such file or directory

I found a patch for the problem here
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-341230.html#3239611

I can not estimate if this will effect other drivers. I compiled the
sources with the patch and the hostapd starts fine.

Bye

Daniel

The problem is the nvidia-glx part. If I remove the "load glx" in my
xorg.conf everything is fine.
The two files under /usr/lib/nvidia/ are missing:
libGL.so.1.2.xlibmesa
libglx.so.xlibmesa
(and I can not install them with a debian package)

I will take a look to the nvidia(-glx) package.

Bug#415878: Xserver crashes since update from 1:7.1.0-12 to 1:7.1.0-15 with the nvidia driver

2007-03-22 Thread Daniel Schröter
Package: xserver-xorg
Version: 1:7.1.0-15
Severity: critical

Hello,

since I upgraded xserver-xorg from 1:7.1.0-12 to 1:7.1.0-15 the X-server
crashes on startup (from Xorg.0.log):
[...]
(II) Initializing extension GLX

Backtrace:

4: /usr/bin/X(InitInput+0x103) [0x45ea23]
5: /usr/bin/X(main+0x337) [0x430e57]
6: /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xda) [0x39e1e1c4ca]
7: /usr/bin/X(FontFileCompleteXLFD+0x9a) [0x43026a]

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

I reinstalled the hole "nvidia.*" packages, but the the problem still
exist under debian/unstable AMD64. Also I tried the nvidia packages from
experimental with the same result. Building the nvidia-package against
other (self compiled) kernel makes no different.

Attached you will find the complete Xorg.0.log output and the xorg.conf
file.

The normal "nv" driver works fine.

Bye

Daniel

Yes I know that, but like I wrote maybe someone has not installed the

update for enigmail? :-o

2007-03-17 Thread Daniel Schröter

Package: enigmail
Version: 2:0.94.2-1
Severity: important
Tags: security

From
http://nvd.nist.gov/nvd.cfm?cvename=CVE-2007-1264
"Enigmail 0.94.2 and earlier does not properly use the --status-fd
argument when invoking GnuPG, which prevents Enigmail from visually
distinguishing between signed and unsigned portions of OpenPGP messages
with multiple components, which allows remote attackers to forge the
contents of a message without detection."

In Debian this problem just occurs if the patch for gnupg is not
installed. That's why I tagged it as "important" and not "critical".

Can you please update enigmail to version 0.94.3 (or backport the patch).

Thanks!

Bye

Daniel

Bug#405596: Stellarium takes the complete memory of the system

2007-01-05 Thread Daniel Schröter
> This bug has indeed been confirmed for 64 bits CPU. Any clue is welcome..

I have searched a littele bit in the forum and found the following problem (and
little patch):
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1566760&group_id=48857&atid=454373
Note: For me the programm does not crash. It just "eat up" the memory.

Also the revision 1647 of the svn checkout should work:
http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4064248

BTW: I'm using a nvidia card with the experimental version 1.0.9746-2

Since the update of stellarium to the latest version it "eats" the hole

No, I didn't test it, but it looks very easy. If the patch would check
for /proc/acpi/sleep and it not exist and then use /sys/power/state
would be more complicated.
I don't compile klaptodaemon by my self. So I can not test it (in an
easy way).

I think the patch has a problem: What happen with the 2.4 Kernels if
there is a /proc/acpi/sleep but no /sys/power/state?

Package: klaptopdaemon

In linux kernel version higher then 2.6.13, CONFIG_ACPI_SLEEP_PROC_SLEEP
is marked as deprecated. It adds /proc/acpi/sleep interface that klaptop
daemon uses for sleep states.

If this file is not present, klaptop is not able to send signals for
standby and other powersaving modes.

As this interface is deprecated by /sys/power/state, it should be
supported by klaptop. It is also avaiable in the 2.6.8 Kernel.
