Bug#559049: linux-image-2.6.31-1-686: freezes in connection with xserver-xorg-video-ati / xserver-xorg-video-radeon
Package: linux-2.6 Version: 2.6.31-2 Severity: normal With respect to bug 552324, Brice Goglin suggests that it may be a bug in the kernel - http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=552324#10 When switching to graphics mode (for example when starting Gnome) it freezes and even switching to the console with Ctrl+Alt+F1 is impossible. Workaround: Downgrading the Xserver from squeeze to lenny. Under kernel 2.6.26 it does not happen always but only sometimes. Package: totem-mozilla Version: 2.16.5-3 Severity: wishlist I am planning a web board where big files (mp3 music, mpeg videos etc.) will be uploaded. In my local test installation, it works fine, if the web page contains one or two small ones (e.g. two mpegs each up to 2 MB). If a file is larger, and I press the Play button in the Player window which is in the Iceweasel broswer window, there comes - immediately or after some time playing, an error message like this: Totem konnte file:///home/david/.mozilla/firefox/viobf2jd.default/Cache/9C370F59d01 nicht wiedergeben. (Totem could not play file ...) Der Ort wurde nicht gefunden. (Location was not found.) Same with MP3 music. If there is more than one video on the page, some of them are black-white. Bug#409442: cdrom: e2fsck on installation cd?
Package: cdrom Severity: wishlist For countries where there often is power failure: I want to suggest that on normal installation dvds and cds, as well as netinst cds there is e2fsck in the main directory. The idea is that after a power failure the user can: boot the installation cd, choose "Execute a shell" enter "cd /cdrom" and "e2fsck -f -p /dev/..." Bug#398424: gnome-desktop-environment: Wish grip instead of sound-juicer
Package: gnome-desktop-environment Version: 1:2.14.3.2 Severity: wishlist CD-Ripper: I wish that sound-juicer is taken out of Gnome, and grip (package grip) is taken in instead, because it can do more and can call many encoders. However, I have not yet found out why grip writes on a certain CD (Omar Sosa, Ayaguna) Musician and Album Unknown, while sound-juicer correctly writes Omar Sosa, Ayaguna. - Both programs write Genre Unknown (the Genre is Jazz). -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-2-686 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages gnome-desktop-environment depends on: ii epiphany-browser 2.14.3-2 Intuitive GNOME web browser ii esound0.2.36-3 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Support ii evince0.4.0-2+b2 Document (postscript, pdf) viewer ii evolution 2.6.3-2groupware suite with mail client a ii evolution-data-server 1.6.3-1+b1 evolution database backend server ii fast-user-switch-appl 2.14.2-1 Applet for the GNOME panel providi ii file-roller 2.14.4-2 an archive manager for GNOME ii firefox-gnome-support 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.7-1 Support for Gnome in Mozilla Firef ii gcalctool 5.8.24-1+b1A GTK2 desktop calculator ii gconf-editor 2.14.0-3 An editor for the GConf configurat ii gdm 2.14.5-1 GNOME Display Manager ii gnome-about 2.14.3-1 The GNOME about box ii gnome-backgrounds 2.16.1-1 a set of backgrounds packaged with ii gnome-core1:2.14.3.2 The GNOME Desktop Environment -- e ii gnome-games 1:2.14.3-1 games for the GNOME desktop ii gnome-keyring-manager 2.14.0-1 keyring management program for the ii gnome-media 2.14.2-2 GNOME media utilities ii gnome-netstatus-apple 2.12.0-5+b2Network status applet for GNOME 2 ii gnome-nettool 2.14.2-1 network information tool for GNOME ii gnome-system-monitor 2.14.5-1 Process viewer and system resource ii gnome-system-tools2.14.0-2+b1Cross-platform configuration utili ii gnome-themes 2.14.3-1 official themes for the GNOME 2 de ii gnome-user-guide 2.14.2-2 GNOME user's guide ii gnome-utils 2.14.0-2+b1GNOME desktop utilities ii gnome-volume-manager 1.5.15-1+b1GNOME daemon to auto-mount and man ii gnomemeeting 1.2.3-7The GnomeMeeting Voice Over IP Sui ii gtk2-engines 1:2.8.1-3 theme engines for GTK+ 2.x ii gucharmap 1:1.6.0-1 Unicode character picker and font ii industrial-cursor-the 0.6.1.3flat-looking cursor theme for X ii libgnome2-perl1.040-1Perl interface to the GNOME librar ii libgnomevfs2-bin 2.14.2-2+b1GNOME virtual file-system (support ii libgnomevfs2-extra2.14.2-2+b1GNOME virtual file-system (extra m ii nautilus-cd-burner2.14.3-2 CD Burning front-end for Nautilus ii sound-juicer 2.14.5-1 GNOME 2 CD Ripper ii totem 1.4.5-1A simple media player for the Gnom ii vino 2.13.5-3 VNC server for GNOME ii zenity2.14.3-1 Display graphical dialog boxes fro Versions of packages gnome-desktop-environment recommends: pn dasher (no description available) pn fam(no description available) pn gnome-accessibility-themes (no description available) pn gnome-mag (no description available) pn gnopernicus(no description available) pn gok(no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
