Bug#987116: irmware-iwlwifi: AX20* bluetooth random disconnects -- additional infos

Bug#987116: firmware-iwlwifi: AX20* bluetooth random disconnects
Hi everyone, I'm not so sure if this bug is firmware dependent. I've two different PCs, in the same chamber, with the same BT adapter (with intel AX200), and very very close to an LG micro stereo. The older PC has, in two different partitions, Siduction (a Debian Sid derivative with KDE) and Debian Bullseye Stable XFCE (+ Blueman) with latest kernel from backport. Both systems pair very well with stereo: I have not done prolonged texts, but everything seems to work very well and only in certain cases, after reboot, I have to delete the BT profile and recreate it again. In my main pc, with Gnome, the first time I tried the system paired with the stereo, but now, every time I try, the pairing works for an instant, but it stops immediately. It's definitely not a hardware problem, as the system works fine on Windows. I also tried to install latest firmware from Sid, but it still gives the same issue. In conclusion, I think the problem somehow lies with Gnome. :-( Best regards and happy holidays to all! Domenico

Bug#954824: chromium: Enable PipeWire support in WebRTC
Dear Maintainer, I would like to add my vote in favor of the request to enable PipeWire support. Yes, I do know that this request, as it seems, has already been rejected for security reasons (see bug #886358)*, but this lack renders Chromium unusable for remote working and this is a problem in a period like this, characterized by the lock-down for Covid-19. Due to this lack I was forced to install Google Chrome, but i would by far prefer to be able to use Chromium, instead. Therefore, I would ask you to reconsider the question of whether to enable that support, if possible. In the meantime, I thank you for all your efforts in maintaining this excellent browser and I send you my best regards. :-) Domenico Cufalo * https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=886358
Bug#952731: xkb-data: Italian keyboard layout not working in some apps
This is my output: $ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.input-sources sources [('xkb', 'it'), ('xkb', 'gr'), ('xkb', 'de')] Obviously the command "setxkbmap it" solves the problem, at least for the current session. Yes! I can confirm there are many issues in new Libreoffice 5, which I see also in my system (Debian Stable, Gnome, AMD64). I have already post this bug report: https://lists.debian.org/debian-backports/2015/09/msg00044.html There are also other issues, lots of other issues. For example, issues in rendering, especially in Calc; in Writer, the menu of undo/redo buttons in toolbar doesn't appear... Cleaning the profile in $HOME/.config *doesn't* solve my issues. I am seriously considering to downgrade to the previous version of LO in backports. Best regards, Domenico

Unfortunately I have no idea of how to make debugging in this case. ;-) Hi and thanks, Domenico -- Package-specific info: Content of '/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex' d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/.nosearch 7a5ac7b2ea13114a7237cad95ce9e127 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/Makefile c515b501a8d5009537edfb0348d3f14e /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/auctex.el 3366a99dd44e27fa57e0bcc130c4fa1c /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/bib-cite.el 542b9f88e6d102b497e17c104de7568a /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/confdefs.h 683dbf2998518f1d182da52f12bd1d63 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/config.log dbb7f49fb883815b70b880b1c047d6b7 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/config.status 5e59995360ee103714cbb9c827362002 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/context-en.el 1829a4905363692bf8eee2c451e0274a /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/context-nl.el 19918a10a7209a5c5634ba6bd3028951 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/context.el 2b11f4f8c3a4189bf7cc8fec5a51e8c0 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/doc/Makefile 762c149dfbb34fd320b76af25f2af63e /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/font-latex.el f176261b5a5511cbe1401ee72ffb8947 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/amstex.xpm d33121019448617a3ad3bcafdeb8db40 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/bibtex.xpm 1a43d6438010bceb374ab0a5f2bd05a8 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/dropdown.xpm 41f1ae0341ae2e307d92a7b8b815f868 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/dvipdf.xpm 2e4b8669b0168f32247411be3f999437 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/dvips.xpm 55f7600cadc3a209e94bacf6bbc42a7c /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/error.xpm c29ad797273fd27201a40bd939a95fe0 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/exec.xpm 79b958849511c67d6b13ef9f5b3673e8 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/execbibtex.xpm a8570e26e9f96b6f527cdbe218d6c55f /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/execdvips.xpm e647bc601aef2dc71b134a989df1adff /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/execerror.xpm 4610ec6133f89ceb441c43dfee077361 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/execpdftex.xpm c9cd1fc9fe4fd122cbf900fae654a67b /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/exectex.xpm 6a6b9af945d4735f048ea8e475f8d9b8 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/execviewdvi.xpm 466466f6d1867510b058a9c184ffce5d /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/execviewpdf.xpm 39d8ccaffb40b0c118e000f45272db05 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/execviewps.xpm 6767e2583c668dcb47495197b9e8cb65 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/gv.xpm ff9c61ef5148a0cacd5422d7c0d99396 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/jumpdvi.xpm ece6608586b591f50f20d17cdb316a1c /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/ltx-symb-turn-off.xpm b1f10de33dcf1b5ca9ac6155c13683a3 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/ltx-symb-turn-on.xpm 44e35faa18ab34f3c13ac3b0082bcc47 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/pdftex.xpm 84673eb20ac3be7bf0eb4e84e23e828f /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prverr16.xpm 59e6a0dddb00ab16c4209a2e4c6e283d /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prverr20.xpm 30dc2ada41625cb24ea459bd62f7386c /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prverr24.xbm 225929f8131bdd7b9b8207494a59619a /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prverr24.xpm 0dac3d8eb00c902037cc5fa6a03e53e3 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvtex-cap-up.xpm 40feb30f80d3606f32ba54b57ba18af5 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvtex12.xbm e1b3c9d6a6eb6fb6f096736cdfc059cf /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvtex12.xpm 32406fc4b893b48d2996c424f61ea238 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvtex16.xbm cc4101ee6a3ab6a1f4e9991b91b3ff0b /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvtex16.xpm d4dbe057a8d3b2facd61cf7583c1e97c /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvtex20.xpm f25ba1b984b095c9c561e5443f3d77a3 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvtex24.xbm 28ac0855d853f606dd91e3cfacaa8a14 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvtex24.xpm 6ce704103821329336489e990bc6f267 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvwrk12.xpm 5607f4e8bc0eb555206e6a3542205f45 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvwrk14.xpm 878a72cde3bb6f0ea6d586cff56e619c /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvwrk16.xpm 41811748a97673381115957d42a6529b /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvwrk20.xpm 254fc07db6a03a8a24f762135a403433 /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/auctex/images/prvwrk24.xbm 9690511307f3693e6f28e4db93fdc58c

Bug#680767: linux-image-3.2.0-3-686-pae: Fancontrol randomly working [EeePc 1000he]
Package: src Version: 3.2.21-3 Severity: normal Dear Mantainers, after the last kernel update (Debian Sid, v. 3.2.21-3) fancontrol works randomly. The problem depends on the fact that the hwmon sensor alternates, at every boot, his path between /sys/devices/platform/eeepc/hwmon/hwmon1 and /sys/devices/platform/eeepc/hwmon/hwmon2. The only solution would be to reconfigure the fancontrol every time, but it is clear that this solution is extremely annoying. Here is my current /etc/fancontrol: # Configuration file generated by pwmconfig, changes will be lost INTERVAL=10 DEVPATH=hwmon0= hwmon2=devices/platform/eeepc DEVNAME=hwmon0=acpitz hwmon2=eeepc FCTEMPS=hwmon2/pwm1=hwmon0/temp1_input FCFANS= hwmon2/pwm1=hwmon2/fan1_input MINTEMP=hwmon2/pwm1=54 MAXTEMP=hwmon2/pwm1=70 MINSTART=hwmon2/pwm1=150 MINSTOP=hwmon2/pwm1=20 When the sensor is recognized as hwmon1, obviously fancontrol does not work. Bug#675763: gnome-settings-daemon: gnome-setting-daemon segfaults in libmouse.so
Package: gnome-settings-daemon Severity: normal I also have a EeePC 1000HE with Sid, although I'm now writing from a desktop with Squeeze, but I can add some information. The problem is related to the settings of the touchpad and it ALWAYS occurs after we changed the default settings. If we re-set the default settings, everything returns to work. I experienced this problem with a new user created for the occasion and I found that there is no connection with any xorg.conf that you may have set, because even if we remove this file, the bug returns in the same manner. I hope I was clear and I apologize for my bad English. Bug#645063: pulseaudio mutes itself when a sink is muted, but does not unmute
This is an old problem. In these months of using pulseaudio, I had solved adding ignore_dB = 1 (without quotes) to the line load-module module-udev-detect in the file /etc/pulse/default.pa. Now, however, this modification causes the bug described in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=645002 Bah! Better than nothing! Bug#645002: Volume mute at every restart of pulseaudio (or restart of X)
Package: pulseaudio Version: 1.0-4 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, on my EeePc 1000HE, on which I use pulseaudio, I always had to add the ignore_dB = 1 option to load-module module-udev-detect, to obtain better control of the fn keys for volume and other small problems. Following the recent updates to pulseaudio, this option causes an annoying reset of the Speaker channel of alsamixer, because of which the volume of the PC is reset every time I restart the process or the pc or just X. $ cat /proc/asound/cards 0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel HDA Intel at 0xf7eb8000 irq 43 $ lsmod | grep snd snd_hda_codec_realtek 206339 1 snd_hda_intel 21691 4 snd_hda_codec 58364 2 snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_hda_intel snd_hwdep 12936 1 snd_hda_codec snd_pcm_oss36377 0 snd_mixer_oss 17713 2 snd_pcm_oss snd_pcm53315 3 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_pcm_oss snd_seq_midi 12744 0 snd_rawmidi22621 1 snd_seq_midi snd_seq_midi_event 13124 1 snd_seq_midi snd_seq39539 2 snd_seq_midi,snd_seq_midi_event snd_timer 22027 2 snd_pcm,snd_seq snd_seq_device 12985 3 snd_seq_midi,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq snd38562 17 snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_hwdep,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_pcm,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq,snd_timer,snd_seq_device soundcore 12992 2 snd snd_page_alloc 12899 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm If you need more information, please do not hesitate to ask. Is there something special about your config? Did you change something to lightdm.conf or lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf? Yes, il worked, but before yesterday's upgrade (see my bug about dpkg). Well, this one is fixed now, isn't it? Yes, lightdm is installed, but :-) I usually let the installer overwrite my configurations with those of the maintainer. Ok. Bug#633607:
Package: gnome-panel Version: 2.30.2-4 Followup-For: Bug #633607 I can confirm: currently, gnome is useless! However, I do not think the problem is related to gnome-panel, because the same version is in wheezy, where I don't see any problems. Package: fuse-utils Version: 2.8.4-1.3 Severity: important Since last update (fuse-utils 2.8.4-2 - 2.8.5-2), there was a serious problem of permissions on ~/.gvfs, which makes thunar almost unusable. More precisely, if I opened my home with thunar, I see the following error (sorry Italian): Errore nell'eseguire lo stat del file /home/domenico/.gvfs: Il socket di destinazione non è connesso. and in thunar I did not see any files and any folders. Almost the same error with pcmanfm, no error with nautilus, with which all strongseemed/strong to work. I noticed that every time the following permissions set on .gvfs folder: d? ? ?? ?? .gvfs (sic) Now I have downgraded all the packages in question to the version of wheezy and everything is back to work. These are the folder permissions: $ ls -al dr-x-- 2 myname myname 0 28 mag 16.18 .gvfs However, in my other pc with Squeeze, are as follows: $ ls -al drwx-- 2 myname myname4096 30 ott 2010 .gvfs Thank you for your attention! Bug#609003: RFP: Valaunch -- Application launcher (vala port of gnome-launch-box)
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: Valaunch Version : no version available Upstream Author : Shuerhaaken (cf. http://gitorious.org/~shuerhaaken) * URL : http://gitorious.org/valaunch * License : GPL v2 Programming Lang: C, Vala Description : Application launcher (vala port of gnome-launch-box) --- Valaunch is a vala port of gnome-launch-box. This is the description from the homepage: -- Valaunch is an application starter that can be used to quickly find apps, bookmarks or files on your computer and start/open these. The valaunch window is shown on the entry of an desktop-wide keyboard shortcut. After that, it usually only takes entering a few letters to find the desired target. The valaunch window is created with cairo and gtk+ and has transparency if the desktop supports it. This project is a port of gnome launch box ( http://live.gnome.org/GnomeLaunchBox ) to the vala language. The vala compiler creates GObject/C code from vala sources. This means no interpreted language is used and that valaunch has very little overhead. For releases, C sources are distributed and therefore no vala compiler is needed to compile them. -- See also: http://live.gnome.org/GnomeLaunchBox (at the bottom of page) I think it can be useful in desktop environments like Xfce or Lxde.
