Yes, the Oops happens with linux-image-4.9.0-4-amd64=4.9.51-1.
I meant the Oops happened with that kernel but after the Oops the machine
continued to run.

I tried it again again and the machine crashed on the 2. try.

Bug#880655: SMB mount/umount between 2 docker containers causes kernel Oops

2017-11-03 Thread Fabian Holler
Package: linux-image-4.9.0-4-amd64
Version: 4.9.51-1

Running Samba in one docker container and mounting/umounting a SMB share of it
in a second docker container causes a kernel Oops.
The machine did not crash with linux-image-4.9.0-4-amd64=4.9.51-1.

The bug can be reproduced by https://github.com/fho/docker-samba-loop.

I was also able to reproduce a kernel Oops with the docker-samba-loop scripts
in multiple Ubuntu kernels (incl. machine crashes).
The trace looks different on linux-image-4.9.0-4-amd64. It might be a
different issue.
Ubuntu bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1729637
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1711407 might be related,
it's about the "unregister_netdevice: waiting for lo to become free."
messages.

The kernel log is attached.

Bug#728206: RFP: librtr -- Library implementing the client-side of the RPKI-RTR Protocol.

2013-10-29 Thread Fabian Holler
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: librtr
  Version : 0.2.3
Upstream Author : Fabian Holler m...@fholler.de
* URL : http://rpki.realmv6.org/
* License : LGPL
  Programming Lang: C
Description : Library implementing the client-side of the RPKI-RTR
Protocol.

The RTRlib is an open-source C implementation of the RPKI/Router Protocol
client. The library allows to fetch and
store validated prefix origin data from a RTR-cache and performs origin
verification of prefixes. It supports different
types of transport sessions (e.g., SSH, unprotected TCP) and is easily
extendable.

The RTRlib is useful for developers of routing software but also for network
operators. Developers can integrate the
RTRlib into the BGP daemon to extend their implementation towards RPKI. Network
operators may use the RTRlib to develop
monitoring tools (e.g., to check the proper operation of caches or to evaluate
their performance).

Debian Packaging files are available at:

Bug#695666: qemu-kvm: qemu-bridge-helper script missing: -net bridge doesn't work

2012-12-11 Thread Fabian Holler
Package: qemu-kvm
Version: 1.1.2+dfsg-2
Severity: normal

The -net bridge and -netdev bridge options doesn't work, most likey because
the qemu-bridge-helper script is missing:

# brctl show br0
bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces
  br0 8000.1c6f65d5cb3c no eth0

# kvm -net bridge,br=br0
  failed to launch bridge helper
kvm: -net bridge,br=br0: Device 'bridge' could not be initialized

In the manpage is written that the default helper script is
/usr/local/libexec/qemu-bridge-helper.
A file with this name isn't included in the qemu-kvm package.

What you can do is add a .js file in /etc/iceweasel/pref to set the
general.config.filename preference to another file name than
iceweasel.cfg and create this file in /usr/lib/iceweasel, containing
 whatever lockPrefs you want.

Thank you, this works :)

But it should be also possible to set lockPref settings in
/etc/iceweasel/pref. This is the preferred directory for Iceweasel
configuration, all iceweasel configuration should be happen there.
