   Well, I can't say. I don't understand so much about fonts and their
   properties. Ralf, can you evaluate the work?

  It has been a long time since I last worked with defoma hint files.
  Anyway, I have noticed two things: These fonts are not really in
  ISO8856-1 encoding. Probably adobe-fontspecific would be more
  appropriate. Also, bitstream as foundry is not correct. Maybe best
  to use misc or something like that. Besides that, everything looks
  fine to me.

 Could you have a look at that? Thanks!

 Hilmar

Ok. I take into account the above observations and write down a
corrected hints file. Here is the new texlive-base.hints file.
Thanks.

 Hi Fabiano, hi all,

 Many thanks for the work!
Hi Hilmar. Let me give the right credits. I get the script of
Robert Vallian at http://russia.shaps.hawaii.edu/software/add-postscript.html
and just manage to make the hints like those in lmodern.hints. So all
the credits to Robert Vallian for the script. Thanks Robert Vallian.

  Here is my attempt to defoma hints for all
  /usr/share/texmf-texlive/fonts/type1/bluesky/ fonts. This looks
  good?

 Well, I can't say. I don't understand so much about fonts and their
 properties. Ralf, can you evaluate the work?

  I did only for *10* fonts.

 I guess this is fine. Other font design sizes are only useful for
 TeX-like applications.

 Norbert, regarding the packaging: I guess I have to append the three
 files to each other, rename the resulting file texlive-base.hints and
 put it into texlive-new/texlive-base/debian. The dh_installdefoma
 command has to go into texlive-new/all/debian/rules.in, right?
I did it. Put all hints in one file called texlive-base.hints anf is
attached.

 What else is needed to make grace/X11 etc. aware of the fonts? Is
 registering them to defoma sufficient?
I think so. I did the command
# defoma-font register-all texlive-base.hints
and grace uses the fonts. I think for X11 is necessary to generate the
fonts.conf file, right?
Thanks,
Fabiano.

 According to the System Information, you are trying to use the pt_BR
 locale, while generating only the pt_BR.UTF-8 locale.
No I have two locales generated in my system, but still have the
problem.

 To fix the problem, either switch to pt_BR.UTF-8 or generate pt_BR locales.
I,m using right now the pt_BR.UTF-8 locale take a look:
# cat /etc/environment
LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=pt_BR:pt:en

# dpkg-reconfigure locales
Generating locales (this might take a while)...
  pt_BR.UTF-8... done
Generation complete.

# locale
LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=pt_BR:pt:en
LC_CTYPE=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_TIME=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_MONETARY=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_PAPER=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_NAME=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=pt_BR.UTF-8
LC_ALL=

But using a user account a get this
$ locale
locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory
locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or
directory
locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory
LANG=pt_BR

LC_MONETARY=pt_BR
LC_MESSAGES=pt_BR
LC_PAPER=pt_BR
LC_NAME=pt_BR
LC_ADDRESS=pt_BR
LC_TELEPHONE=pt_BR
LC_MEASUREMENT=pt_BR
LC_IDENTIFICATION=pt_BR
LC_ALL=

My gnome desktop have things in english but locale is set to
pt_BR.UTF-8.
For compatibility I've used pt_BR.ISO-8859-1 and pt_BR.UTF-8 with
pt_BR.UTF-8 as the default locale. If I do this
# dpkg-reconfigure locales
Generating locales (this might take a while)...
  pt_BR.ISO-8859-1... done
  pt_BR.UTF-8... done
Generation complete.

I still have pt_BR.UTF-8 for the root but pt_BR for users. So
definitively there is a bug in locales, at last in pt_BR and pt_BR.UTF.8
locales.

Thanks in advance.
Fabiano.

Bug#448100: texlive-base: Added ams fonts to be used by grace.

2007-10-25 Thread Fabiano Manoel de Andrade
Package: texlive-base
Version: 2007-12
Severity: wishlist

Hi.

The ams type1 fonts are not registered by defoma to use within
grace package. lmoderm package register the fonts. With this fonts
advanced mathematical formulae can be insert in xmgrace, so please added
this fonts to xmgrace.
Thanks in advance.
Fabiano.

-- Package-specific info:
If you report an error when running one of the TeX-related binaries
(latex, pdftex, metafont,...), or if the bug is related to bad or wrong
output, please include a MINIMAL example input file that produces the
error in your report. Don't forget to also include minimal examples of
other files that are needed, e.g. bibtex databases. Often it also helps
to include the logfile. Please, never send included pictures!

If your example file isn't short or produces more than one page of
output (except when multiple pages are needed to show the problem),
you can probably minimize it further. Instructions on how to do that
can be found at

 I will forward your message to the Debian TeX community.

Hi.

Yes. I've reverted the package libgmime-2.0-2 from version (2.2.10-1) to
version (2.2.9-1) of testing and mail-notification can back to work. So
this is a workaround for while.

Regards.
Fabiano.

Hi Muammar. Thanks for the new upload, but the problem continues. I
have purged amsn (0.97~rc1+dfsg1-1) and installed and solve the problem.
After upgrade to amsn (0.97~rc1+dfsg1-2) the problem can back. Again,
I've purge amsn (0.97~rc1+dfsg1-2) and reinstall sove the problem, amsn
back to work. So I think the problem is with upgrade of installed
package.
Thanks in advance.

Bug#423652: module-assistant: Build nvidia driver with new driver version schema

2007-05-13 Thread Fabiano Manoel de Andrade
Package: module-assistant
Version: 0.10.11
Severity: wishlist

Hi.
Randall Donald, maintainer of nvidia graphic drivers and
sources change the version schema for nvidia graphic drivers. He had
added the versions
nvidia-kernel-legacy-71xx-source
nvidia-kernel-legacy-96xx-source
nvidia-kernel-source
module-assistant just can compile the nvidia and nvidia-legacy
drivers. So I think is very good to add/change this version schema to
m-a.
Thanks ins advance.

I just tried upgrading to 2.3.7-2 and it failed in the exact way described
