Bug#581612: cron sends e-mails when a job exits nonzero (after upgrade to 3.0pl1-110)

2010-05-18 Thread Frode Jemtland
I upgraded my machine today. After about a hour I had 22-25 mails nagging me
that my different cron jobs telling me the same:

command failed with exit status 1

The error came from the following cron jobs:
/etc/cron.d/dma:
*/5 *   * * *   root[ -x /usr/sbin/dma ]  /usr/sbin/dma -q1

/etc/cron.d/php4:
09,39 * * * * root [ -d /var/lib/php4 ] find /var/lib/php4/ -type
f -cmin +$(/usr/lib/php4/maxlifetime) -print0 | xargs -r -0 rm

and a private cron job:
*/5 * * * *killall nspluginviewer  /dev/null 21

If it is desired behavior that cron now sends out email if the job exit's with
status 1, it is strange that I now get a lot of mail from system cron jobs

In my private cron job I'm killing the nspluginviewer every 5 minute. I'm
aware that the nspluginviewer probably are not running, but that is why I pipe
the error message to /dev/null. I don't want to hear about it.

I thought that 21 would send the ERROUT to the same place as STDOUT... Why
do cron catch these then?

I'm running 3.0pl1-110. Not sure what I had before the upgrade.

Bug#317087: I think the problem is with kdelibs, not kdenetwork package

2005-07-06 Thread Frode Jemtland
Package: kdenetwork
Version: 4:3.3.2-6
Followup-For: Bug #317087

I also got the same problem as described. But when I tryed to downgrade
the kdenetwork package, by installing kdenetwork_3.3.2-5_all.deb and
kdenetwork-filesharing_3.3.2-5_i386.deb from the testing repository, I
still had problem starting kmail.

In the /var/log/dpkg.log file, I noticed that there weare 4 kdelibs
packages installed about the same time...
2005-07-06 00:08:55 status installed kdelibs-data 4:3.3.2-7
2005-07-06 00:09:13 status installed kdelibs-bin 4:3.3.2-7
2005-07-06 00:09:13 status installed kdelibs4 4:3.3.2-7
2005-07-06 00:09:13 status installed kdelibs 4:3.3.2-7

After downgrading this packages to 3.3.2-6 from the testing repository,
kmail worked as it should.

Kmail still workes, after I have upgraded the kdenetwork packages to
3.3.2-6.

Bug#304346: evolution: Also a problem for Evolution 2.2.1.1 on Ubuntu 5.04

2005-04-13 Thread Frode Jemtland
Package: evolution
Version: 2.2.1.1-1
Followup-For: Bug #304346

A friend of me tested the same version of Evolution on Ubuntu 5.04
(evolution-2.2.1.1-0ubuntu4) . This failed with the same problem. Unable to
authenticate against the Groupwise server.

Maybe this bug should be changed to Normal bugs - forwarded to upstream
software authors.

I'm new to bug reporting, so I'm not sure how to change this, or if this is
something I should change at all.

Bug#304346: evolution: After upgrade from 2.0.4 to 2.2.1.1 authentication against groupwise server fails

2005-04-12 Thread Frode Jemtland
Package: evolution
Version: 2.2.1.1-1
Severity: normal

Did run a apt-get install evolution this morning. I had evolution 2.0.4
installed, and it worked. Have recived mail today with 2.0.4. After
upgrading evolution no longer authenticate with our groupwise server.

What I did.

Did a apt-get update apt-get upgrade, and saw that evolution was held
back.
# apt-get upgrade
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
The following packages have been kept back:
acroread evolution gnucash gnucash-common kdepim libgda2-common vim
  vim-common xmms xmms-dev

Then did a apt-get install evolution.

# apt-get install evolution

The following extra packages will be installed:

  evolution
1 upgraded, 13 newly installed, 0 to remove and 8 not upgraded.
Need to get 13.3MB of archives.
After unpacking 12.5MB of additional disk space will be used.

Everything went as is should.

When starting Evolution, it asks for the password to the Groupwise
server. Entering, and it pops out with a new password promt claiming
Unable to authenticate to GroupWise server. Have tested this for the
last two hours now, and I'm shure it's not a Capslock problem or
similar. Have tried with full context, and contextless username.

Started the evolution from a terminal, and this is the output on the
terminal screen:
