its no more a problem in 1.8.5-1

but the same errors occur in 1.8.2 with the OSD Oxford Spanish Dictionary

the same errors reported with the screen grabs previously

as for other programs i cannot much say

but 1.8.5-1 seems fine.

ok, what happened here with maps is:

when i ran maps no outbound dns resolver requests were allowed and only
Tor traffic was

with a vpn maps works with a reachable dns server

this doesnt mean im offline if Tor connectivity is working fine

can we change this to a feature request to add socks5 proxy support ?

i dont know how to change that outside of an email request or control
tag or what have you

re-installed dnsmasq and base - i removed it because i dont use it
day-to-day

dnsmasq is conflicting with unbound and dnscrypt-proxy


is the only solution to disable unbound/dnscrypt-proxy ?

if you refer to earlier msgs you would know i did have dnsmasq installed
prior and it didnt work

i request the bug to be re-opened

im not convinced of the use of the hotspot, dnsmasq and unbound
simultaneously is bug free

if you can otherwise confirm that it is, id like to see that

after removing dnsmasq the hot spot would not function

i then re-installed, rebooted and disabled unbound, then the hot spot
worked again

dnsmasq seems to listen hard-coded on the previous dns server ip of the
vpn connection

(i connect to the vpn through the openvpn-nm applet)

with the hot spot active i can't resolve anything on the vpn, using the
correct vpn dns server ip

all dns queries are refused...

i use unbound as my resolver

when i tried to setup a wifi access point (hot spot) i saw that my other 
devices couldn't connect to the internet

at the time i had a vpn conn. with its own dns resolver and this was how i 
wanted the other devices to access the internet (i have a usb mobile broadband 
modem)

is it possible the have a vpn connected on the machine running the hot spot and 
have other devices connect to the hot spot and access the vpn?

having a look in journalctl i saw dnsmasq related entries:

local dnsmasq[3502]: ignoring nameserver 10.42.0.1 - local interface

the computer with the hot spot couldn't resolve as well as devices connected to 
the hot spot

even if imanually changed resolv.conf the dns queries were refused

i then removed dnsmasq - and saw the hot spot requires it, with other iptables 
rules spawned which also may conflict with my computer (i have default DROP and 
only whitelist)

please help out...thanks

i can confirm the behaviour of hdd spin down constantly

computer left on over night, hdd constantly spins up/down

when hdd spin-down set to 129 in 'disks' behaviour still occurs

either forensics includes a config for hdparm or hdparm does...i dont know

ive posted the results of a quick profile - i chose the 15 min (in
reality it completed quicker)

full results and prfiles in txt


it wasn't accurate - i have a feeling it has something to with the
brightness of the display/backlight

mine is set lower to about 1/3 from the gnome top-right menu (whatever
1/3 means)

from my experience with gretag in windows, before proceeding to color
swatch reading it allowed a pre-defined display luminance check (from
memory in candela, possibly 90 or 120 cdM, i hope my memory is right...)

ive had a lot of trouble profiling old monitors with dim backlights and
this may be the problem i saw in gnome

but when i re-profiled again with display/backlight at 100% - almost the
same result - so could be something else

when using the profiles, the display color cast is deep reddish,
obviously not right...

any ideas to further investigate ?

stretch does have rootless Xorg

if thats the case, how can i get around this if at all possible ?

im not technically adept at all with this area

if there's this much trouble then i suggest the DEB package should make
a few adjustments somehow...it doesnt seem to work out-of-the-box

i grepped through some other signed PDFs created from within Adobe
Acrobat, signed with differing CA certs and timestamp servers and
DigestAlgos - they all report the same md5 DigestValue...(?)

disappointingly, tests with LibreOffice Writer signed/timestamped PDFs
did not display a DigestValue. LO 5 can sign/timestamp exported PDFs but
only timestamp from a non-AUTH http[s] timestamp server

libreoffice-pdfimport is already the newest version (1:5.0.5~rc1-1).

This package contains a component enabling LibreOffice to import PDF
Documents.

i would like to make a couple of proposals

currently, this seems to work when exporting from writer:

* PDF and PDF A/1a
* CA cert signed signature
* timestamped with non http[s] AUTH based timestamp server

this produces a PDF:

sha1 hashed
document restrictions summary, not allowed:

changing the document
document assembly

i can't get a PDF A/1a timestamped with one which requires http[s] AUTH

does writer support AUTH to enter credentials over http[s]?

signing just with a CA valid cert does work to a non PDF A/1a, but
opening the PDF in a windows acrobat or reader shows a modification
warning after signing




suggest some things need to be looked into in terms of:

when signing/timestamping within Acrobat, and locking the document,
causes the following restrictions _in addition_ to above:

commenting
filling of form fields
signing of form fields
creation of template pages

once a PDF is signed, there should be an option to enable/disable future
signing

once it's timestamped, no further changes should be allowed, it should
be 'locked' similarly to how Acrobat changes restrictions

no idea what is/is not possible in terms of doing this outside of
Acrobat but an sha256 hashed doc should be considered do-able (default
in Acrobat with recent updates)
