I answer to myself because I believe that the bug does not concern pavucontrol
because I uninstalled puseaudio and pavucontrol works well with alsamixer I no
longer have a problem keeping my preferences. So maybe we should see on the
side of pulseaudio instead of incriminating pavucontrol?

PS
I'm using Bullsey to answer but what I'm talking about is about
bookworm.

Same issue here with old box ASSUS AMD Athlon 32 bits.
I solved the problem installing the version 52 which is yet in testing.
It is not perfect but it works.

Bug#770159: atril: can't see pdf attachment file with mutt

2014-11-19 Thread Gerard ROBIN
Package: atril
Version: 1.8.0+dfsg1-2~bpo70+1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,
when I install evince, the file /etc/mailcap is updated automatically
and I can see the pdf files attached to an email, but if I remove evince
and I install atril instead, the file /etc/mailcap is not updated.

Is it possible that when installing the package atril the mailcap file
is automatically configured so that mutt can view the pdf attachment ?

thanks

I think I was wrong, the problem doesn't result from cdcd, but from the
kernel linux-image-2.6.32-1-amd64.(or udev ?)
Indeed, after installing the kernel linux-image-2.6.30-bpo.1-amd64,
cdcd works fine now (including the sound)

Gerard Robin  napsal(a):

After last upgrade (01/11/2009) geeqie starts ok but when I quit

It looks more like a bug of xserver than a geeqie one. It simply
should not crash regardless what ugly will applications do. Further more
it does not happen to me, I would definitely notice that ;-).

What X video driver do you use?

on my laptop (acer 5102 wlmi) I have:
VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS482 [Radeon Xpress 200M]

Ok 2.5.0~alpha3+svn20090611-1 works now, thanks.
(But > < , . are always without effect on the sound volume.)

Ok, start mocp and toggle the mixer with "x". Try at each section to
control the volume with '< >'.

What happens?

Elimar

"x" does nothing to '< > , .' but "w" does the job.
Thanks.

Bug#538903: moc 2.5.0~alpha3+svn20090611-1 : FATAL-ERROR Can't receive value from the server.

2009-07-27 Thread Gerard Robin
Package: moc
Version: 1:2.5.0~alpha3+svn20080629-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I upgraded from moc 2.5.0~alpha3+svn20080629-2 to moc
2.5.0~alpha3+svn20090611-1 and when I started mocp I got:
FATAL_ERROR Can't receive value from the server and mocp
stopped.

I reinstalled moc 2.5.0~alpha3+svn20080629-2 and it works fine.

Bug#489804: moc 2.5.0~alpha3+svn20080629-2 0 doesn't work on my box

2008-08-12 Thread Gerard Robin

Hello,
I have installed moc 2.5.0~alpha3+svn20080629-2 on my box but, for me,
it's the same that with moc 2.5.0~alpha3+svn20080629-1.
I tried it with kernels (packages Debian) 2.6.22 and 2.6.26. Fortunately moc
2.5.0~alpha3-3
works fine for me.

What does freezing mean? A scrambled sreen? A hanging machine?

the terminal in which I launched mocp freezes, not the machine. (I kill
the terminal and it's ok)
I notice that "ps ax | grep mocp" gives:
17196 ?S 0:00 mocp
17197 ?Ssl0:00 mocp

Well, as my globe told me, try following:

$ mv $HOME/.moc/cache $HOME/.moc/cache.old
$ mocp

What happens now?

mocp starts and displays the files mp3 (left) + the playlist (right) +
FATAL_ERROR: Can't send() int to the server
and freezes.

The directory $HOME/.moc/cache is regenerated and "ps ax | grep mocp"
gives nothing.

however moc_2.5.0~alpha3-3 works fine.
Except the sound which is not adjustable with the keys " < or > "

Bug#481110: linux-image-2.6.25-1-amd64: my machine freezes definitively when I use mutt in CM

2008-05-13 Thread Gerard Robin
Package: linux-image-2.6.25-1-amd64
Version: 2.6.25-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software

mutt works perfectly with kernel 2.6.22 amd64 (package debian) in CM and with
xwindow
but when I use mutt with kernel 2.6.25-1-amd64 (package debian) it
freezes definitively my box in CM.
The problem doesn't occur with xwindow.

The package depends on plain mesa OR fglrx-glx..

I upgraded fglrx-kernel-src (to 8.47.3-2 ) and I compiled it with m-a
and now glxgears and fgl_glxgears work fine.

Thanks, great job !

Yes fglrx-glx is installed as dependencies of the other packages now.
I don't remember exactly ... I think that it's fglrx-driver which

Bug#467117: hplip: problem with hp-toobox an locale (LANG=fr_FR.ISO-8859-1)

2008-02-22 Thread Gerard Robin
Package: hplip
Version: 2.7.10-5
Severity: normal
Tags: l10n

My variable LANG is currently set to fr_FR.ISO-8859-1

When I run hp-toolbox in a terminal (as normal user) I get:
No installed HP devices found (in french ...)
Error: No device found or unsupported device.

If I set LANG to C, hp-toolbox gives now:

briefly: Error: no device found or unsupported device and after that
hp-toobox works fine (almost fine)

I specify that normal user is in the groups: lpadmin, scanner, fax.

How can we fix this problem ?
Thanks.

your kernel is tainted try to reproduce without the ath hal crap.

beside having enough reports on regular linux images tainted
proprietary stuff is not debuggable, so your report could be
closed right away.

I upgrade my sid regularly, and with the same kernel 2.6.23-1,
(package official Debian) now, suddenly, my box boots like charm.

Perhaps the problem did not come from the kernel 2.6.23-1 ?
I thought so because my box booted fine with the kernel 2.6.22-3.

Thanks

Bug#455065: libgl1-mesa-glx and fglrx-driver (proprietary) share /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2

2007-12-08 Thread Gerard Robin
Package: libgl1-mesa-glx
Version: 7.0.2-2
Severity: wishlist

I installed the ATI drivers proprietary ;-) on my laptop acer 5102,
I installed the package fglrx-driver_8.433-1_amd64.deb with the option
--force-all
but now I encounter a problem when I get out of hibernation:
my laptop crashes.

Then I did:
apt-get install --reinstall libgl1-mesa-glx
(to try to reinstall libgl1-mesa-glx) but I get:(as expected ...)
---8<--
trying to overwrite `/usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2', which is also in package
fglrx-driver
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
---8<--
Is there a way to make libgl1-mesa-glx and fglrx-driver_8.433-1_amd64.deb
to share the same /usr/liblibGL.so.1.2 ?

Thank in advance.
Gerard.

Bug#399175: manpages of apt-get apt-cache apt-cdrom apt-config apt.conf apt_preferences sources.list

2006-11-18 Thread Gerard Robin

Package: apt
Version: 0.6.46.3

I found bad characters ( é è à ...) in the files:
/usr/share/man/fr/man8/apt-cache.8.gz
/usr/share/man/fr/man8/apt-get.8.gz
/usr/share/man/fr/man8/apt-cdrom.8.gz
...
/usr/share/man/fr/man5/sources.list.5.gz

I have corrected these files and now man works fine on these files, if you
are interested I can send you the 7 files corrected.
