I've just recreate my pbuilder chroot and I still have no issue (pdebuild
launched 3 times). If you use pbuilder, do you call it with
--use-pdebuild-internal ?

I launched debuild -us -uc more than two time in a row without error.

I can't reproduce it if I do like you:
(this is the second launch)
$fakeroot make -f debian/rules build

$echo $?

$fakeroot make -f debian/rules binary

This come from a non protable ASM section in include/model.h line 62. The
issue had been forwarded to upstream:
http://vdrift.net/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=289

Vdrift need a graphic card with OpenGL driver. I doubt There is an
interest to wast time fixing this for Etch since there is no hardware to
support VDrift on these architectures.

I did. In fact i don't have a lot of experience with librairy packaging
and i may have miss something.

Yep, you right, i uploaded a cleaner ode_0.7-1.diff.gz. I reactivated the

Vdrift have misterious bug with its internal engine and gcc > 4. The build
success on ix86 but the game is buggy after.

There is another problem with some ASM intruction that are not portable
currently.
http://vdrift.net/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=289

Thus Vdrift architecture is set to amd64 arm i386 ia64 powerpc. Not hppa.
