Bug#688325: [buildd-tools-devel] Bug#688325: [schroot] I can't mount usb key with schroot
I can not mount a USB key under /media because they belong to root. How can i achieve this ? The same way as you would on the host system, especially since the files under /dev/ are bind mounted from the host. This is not, I think, something that schroot itself should cater for. Tools like pmount and more recent tools used by common desktop environments for mounting removable media should work inside the chroot as well; particuarly when using the desktop profile. If there's anything we can add to that profile to make desktop removable media support work better, then we can certainly look at adding that. Regards, Roger Thank you Roger, But this is what i get with pmount (i use the desktop profile) : guy@pcplat53:~$ pmount /dev/sdb1 guy@pcplat53:~$ pumount /dev/sdb1 guy@pcplat53:~$ schroot -c precise (precise)guy@pcplat53:~$ pmount /dev/sdb1 Error: could not open fstab-type file: No such file or directory (precise)guy@pcplat53:~$ This is ok with the host but not with the schroot Guy -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#675763: gnome-settings-daemon: gnome-setting-daemon segfaults in libmouse.so
Hi, I can reproduce the same bug on my EeePC 1005HA. Maybe it is a specific bug relative to these netbooks models. No i use a Dell Latitude D420 and the bug is present. With this notebook i can't upgrade to amd64 ... So, i need to remove ~/.config/dconf/user to work around the bug. So i make a copy of this file (~/.config/dconf/user.ok) before the error occur. This way i don't loose all the configuration for the user. I think we can't edit this file without X (dconf-editor) ? Is the bug reported to upstream ? Is there some guideline somewhere to install the package with Cyril or Ralph patch ? You should not use my patch, it only unnecessarily complicates things by splitting the package. The original patch by Andreas is fine, it's just waiting for someone to apply it. Bug#686489: [libgl1-nvidia-alternatives] can't install libgl1-nvidia-alternatives:i386
glx-alternative-nvidia, which is the current version, is tagged Multi-Arch: foreign. nvidia-alternative is the more interesting package here and it is M-A: foreign, too. That's sufficient to install the native version of nvidia-alternative. (And you probably can't install nvidia-alternative:i386 on amd64) Oh, doh, right. I forgot that M-A: foreign stops the architecture chain and allows further dependencies to be satisfied by the other architecture. So yes, I'm not sure why you'd need to install the i386 version of that package on amd64 either. Ok, I thought it was necessary to install this package to have wine and googleearth on a debian sid amd64 multiarch. But I could be wrong. I am miserably stuck at not being able to use these softwares. Thank you, Guy -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#658221: [gdm3] Can't start gdm3 anymore
Hi, After an upgrade of my debian sid amd64 yesterday, i can't start gdm3 anymore this morning (failed). This is what i do to fix the problem : cd /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ ln -s ../libaudit.so.1.0.0 libaudit.so.0 I don’t know what happened, but if you regularly do things like that to your system, they are most likely the cause of your problem. never. The output of “ldd -r /usr/sbin/gdm3” (without your “workaround”) should contain the relevant information to understand what’s happening. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=658153 i remove my workaround and upgrade ... now all is fine. -- Guy -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#658294: [3.1 - 3.2.2 regression] No more sound
Is there always trouble, or only when docked or after a suspend/resume cycle? Can you hear sound through headphones? Does fiddling with any of the knobs in alsamixer help? (You may have to press F6 first to make sure you are setting the controls for the ALSA device rather than pulseaudio.) Thank you Jonathan, yes i notice the trouble is *only* with dock lineout and kernel 3.2. No problem with integrated loudspeaker or laptop lineout. I also test kernel 3.3rc2 and is fine with dock lineout, integrated loudspeaker and laptop lineout Guy -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#651526: [gnome-shell] Wake up from suspend is very difficult
Hi, I notice the problem is relative to my user. If i create a new user, there is no problem with suspend with this new user (sometimes the logscreen is slow to appear). No need to alt f2 r anymore. I suppose this is related to the upgrade from gnome2 to gnome3 or perhaps the use of some option of gnome-shell-extensions on my sid ? Hi Francesco, Package: grass Version: 6.4.0~rc5-3 Severity: normal I run grass in gui mode. I select an empty GIS data Directory (i create it before). And i click on Projection values button and i get this error : Do you mean without a controlling xterminal? Did you start it from menu? I run a gnome-terminal and it's what i do : $ cd $ mkdir grassdata $ grass Hi have the WELCOME TO GRASS in text mode, i hit RETURN and the the graphical interface of grass come up (tcltk?). I must select the GIS data directory (i select /homeL/localu/grassdata), i click OK Then, i click the Projection values button and i get immediatly the error i reported in text mode (not a graphic (tcltk?) windows) : = If you wish to resize the X monitor, do so now. Press enter to continue. Generally, this is due to a missing wrapper call. I cannot reproduce it without the exact specification of how did you start grass. The crash happens very near this upstream change: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=77801 (from GNOME #369884 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369884) Could you try this upstream patch? If it fixes the segfault, I can pull it easily. Yes i try the patch but it doen't fix the crash :-( I try also this patch but again without success (same crash): 2005-11-16 Mark McLoughlin [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fix crash with unicode mapped keysyms (bug #321516) Patch from Gary Coady [EMAIL PROTECTED] * server/vino-input.c: update VINO_IS_LATIN1_KEYSYM to not match keysyms with byte 4 set. If it doesn't and you have the time to, you can try building the upstream CVS of vino to see whether your bug is already fixed upstream (I don't experience it myself), and if it is extract a patch: this might make it possible to push the change in Debian before the release of etch. I have time but i don't know the process to build upstream CVS of vino. Perhaps you can give some hints. Then i give it a try ? PS: I'll be on holidays for a week starting tonight.
