Bug#635910: bluez: bluetooth mouse fails to reconnect
Package: bluez Version: 4.94-2 Severity: normal After configuring a bluetooth mouse for the first time, all is fine and the mouse is working. But after turning the mouse off and on again, or after reboot, or after long idle time (mouse sleeping?), the bluetooth mouse cannot reconnect to the system again. It needs to be removed and configured again, so the coniguration is working for one session only. This is quite nasty, as the configuration (using the GUI, e.g. bluetooth- wizard) is possible only with a working mouse ... so another (USB-)mouse is required, which makes the bluetooth mouse quite useless. The system here is an old powerpc minimac; tried this with a logitech bluetooth mouse and an IBM/lenovo bluetooth mouse. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.39-2-powerpc Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages bluez depends on: ii dbus 1.4.12-5simple interprocess messaging syst ii libbluetooth34.94-2 Library to use the BlueZ Linux Blu ii libc62.13-10 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcap-ng0 0.6.6-1 An alternate POSIX capabilities li ii libdbus-1-3 1.4.12-5simple interprocess messaging syst ii libglib2.0-0 2.28.6-1The GLib library of C routines ii libudev0 172-1 libudev shared library ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-17 userspace USB programming library ii lsb-base 3.2-27 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip ii module-init-tools3.16-1 tools for managing Linux kernel mo ii python-dbus 0.84.0-1simple interprocess messaging syst ii python-gobject 2.28.6-4Python bindings for the GObject li ii udev 172-1 /dev/ and hotplug management daemo bluez recommends no packages. bluez suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#635910: mouse reconnect failed with bluez/unstable too
Package: bluez Version: 4.94-3 Followup-For: Bug #635910 Upgrading bluez to 4.94-3 (from unstable) didn't help; the mouse still cannot reconnect. To reproduce the problem I did: 1. /etc/init.d/bluetooth stop 2. rm -rf /var/lib/bluetooth/* # to start with clean files 3. /etc/init.d/bluetooth start 4. # push reset button on bluetooth mouse, makes it visible 5. hcitool scan 6. BTADDR=00:. # bluetooth address as seen by hcitool 7. bluez-simple-agent hci0 $BTADDR # asks for PIN, works for me 8. bluez-test-device trusted $BTADDR yes 9. bluez-test-input connect $BTADDR After step 9, the mouse is working until restart of bluetoothd (e.g. /etc/init.d/bluetooth restart) or power off/on of the mouse. After powering off and on the mouse (or reboot etc.), I need to press the mouse reset button again and execute the command in step 9 above; then the mouse is working again. The same mouse is working fine with an Kubuntu 11.04 system on x86_64 (bluez 4.91-0ubuntu1). Which additional information can I provide to help fixing this problem? Bug#293073: Solution for aideinit conf file missing
Package: aide Version: 0.10-6.1 Followup-For: Bug #293073 Running aideinit gives the following error after upgrading to this version of the aide package: tombstone:~# aideinit /usr/sbin/aideinit: /var/lib/aide/aide.conf.autogenerated: file not found I've the same problem as reported, but found that the error message printed is not really related to the fact that aide won't run. The real reason is presented in the mail sent to root: Fatal error: The AIDE database does not exist! This may mean you haven't created it, or it may mean that someone has removed it. So just a touch /var/lib/aide/aide.db will fix the problem. Priority of this bug can probably be lowered as it's a configuration issue only. To avoid confusion, I propose to suppress grep's error message about the unexisting /var/lib/aide/aide.conf.autogenerated which will indeed be created on the fly, and to add some more explanation to the email sent to root. Bug#293848: backuppc: Security hole by default password?
Hi Ludovic, On Wednesday 09 February 2005 00:32, Ludovic Drolez [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Herbert Thielen wrote: [...] Using this account, it may be possible to access files on the backuppc host. No, by default backuppc, backups /etc as user backuppc so no sensible files are backuped. hmm, I'd assume /etc/passwd containing the local user names to be sensible data which shouldn't be accessable remotely, but you may see this differently. Probably it would be better to ask for the backuppc user and password, as it's done by many other web based packages. Cool ! Could you give me some examples, so that I would just have to copy the code :-) The package bugzilla, and as far as I remember, the package mysql both ask for user and admin data. Bug#293847: apache2 fails to restart after removing backuppc
Reopened the bug as it's not mandatory to use wwwconfig-common, is it? For the latter package, there's already a bug to support conf.d: #237292 wwwconfig-common: Support apache conf.d Until this is available, other mechanisms could be used, as it's done by e.g. egroupware, phpgroupware, phpmyadmin, websvn.
