Bug#695638: texmacs: missing dependency that allows 'print preview button' to function

2012-12-10 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: texmacs
Version: 1:1.0.7.15-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

It seems texmacs expects a package called 'ghostview' to be installed on
the system in order to preview the print.

A quick google shows someone asked ghostview not be counted as a
dependency for many packages and suggests the use of 'gv' instead:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-edu/2006/04/msg00095.html

I installed that 'gv' package and the print preview worked.

May I suggest you add that as a dependency?

Thanks,

Hugo A M Torres

Bug#651506: gnome-shell: screen becomes glitched when attempting to unlock

2012-09-18 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.4.2-1
Followup-For: Bug #651506

Dear Maintainer,

I am using the radeon driver and the unlock form almost always
disappears when I waking the notebook by opening the screen.

00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI
Wrestler [Radeon HD 6250]

I can login fine if I type the password blindly. When logged in, if there were
several workspaces prior to suspending,
some windows recover juxtaposed to each other and only two workspaces remain.

Bug#687777: powertop changes not persistent on reboot

2012-09-15 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: powertop
Version: 2.0-0.2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I discovered powertop and it suggests some config changes to save battery, it
seems great.
The problem is the changes do not persist a reboot on debian. In fact when I
exit I see the following
message left on the shell: Cannot load from file
/var/cache/powertop/saved_parameters.powertop.
This file does not exist but I see /var/cache/powertop/saved_results.powertop
It seems to be looking for the wrong filename!

I am afraid I could not locate where the config file is to try and change a
parameter that points to
the mentioned filename to see if that would solve the issue.

If you help me locate it I could try to make that ammend to see if that solves
the issue.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Hugo

Bug#670787: acpid: Laptop does not auto-suspend when closing the lid after disconnecting an external monitor.

2012-04-28 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: acpid
Version: 1:2.0.16-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I noticed my laptop will not suspend when I close the lid after I had an
external monitor plugged in.

It will suspend if I use the gnome menu, but closing the lid doesn't.
(only if an external monitor was plugged in previously).

A reboot seems to fix that behavior.

Let me know if can help you with more info.

Bug#664477: epiphany-browser: Clicking besides a tab does not open a new tab.

2012-03-17 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: epiphany-browser
Version: 3.2.1-2
Severity: wishlist
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

I'd expect that double clicking the empty space on the right
of side a tab would open a new tab.

Also the home page should be opened in a tab so we can use this feature
from the start.

Just a suggestion. It seems Chromium and FF use this GUI mechanics so
maybe people coming from these browser would also feel familiar.

Thanks for your consideration.

Bug#661486: gnome-shell: Window manager crashes when making a search while two windows share the desktop side-by-side

2012-02-27 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.2.2.1-1

Dear Maintainer,

When I have two windows sharing the desktop, side by side -- that is, when
I use that gnome shell feature of dragging the window to the top left

the window manager immediately crashes and reloads.

Bug#655486: guake: Browser cannot follow web links shown in guake.

2012-01-11 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: guake
Version: 0.4.2-7
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

When I click a link shown in a guake session it does not open a
browser as I'd expect. The strange thing is an http link is properly
underlined, so ir represents a link and when I position the mouse
cursor above it changes to the the form of a pointing hand, the same
behavior as in iceweasel.

Actually in gnome-terminal, if I click a link, a web browser is not
launched as I expect as well but by right-clicking a link I am
presented with an option to follow link.

Could we either have this behavior or the open on click behavior?

Thanks for your consideration,

Hugo

Bug#649516: /usr/bin/gnome-session-properties: gnome-session-properties is not displayed in gnome-control-panel.

2011-11-21 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: gnome-session-bin
Version: 3.0.2-3
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/gnome-session-properties

Dear Maintainer,

I was having trouble finding a way to startup a daemon when I log into
gnome3. It seems the startup applications is not displayed anywhere
easy to find in gnome-shell. Maybe gnome-session-properties could have
an icon inside the gnome-control-panel?

Perhaps this bug should be filled against the package containing
gnome-control-panel. I couldn't figure out its name. In that case can
you reassign?

Thanks for your work. Sorry about any trouble.

Bug#648908: gnome-terminal: background not transparent in gnome3

2011-11-15 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: gnome-terminal
Version: 3.0.1-1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

If the profile sets a transparent background it only seems to get transparent
when the window is maximized.
Else the background gets a solid color.

While this is just a minor problem, I can't read text bellow the shell when its
not fullscreen. I kinda miss that.

I hope this can get fixed in the future.

Thanks for your work.

/var/log/bootchart.tgz is created by bootchartd (bootchart2 package). Maybe
 you
just didn't set it up correctly?

 Please read /usr/share/doc/bootchart2/README .

 I'm closing the bug.

 Kindly,

2011-05-27 Thread Hugo A M Torres

Hi,

I found some warning messages in .xsession-errors relating to cairo-dock:

'/home/mercutio22/.config/autostart/cairo-dock.desktop' has malformed Icon key

Seems like an easy fix. Just trying to be helpful. Excuse me if that is too
obvious.

2011-05-08 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: gdm3
Version: 2.30.5-10

Metacity controls windows in gdm3 in spite of having say compiz as default
window manager.

I found a site which mentions a fix but that does not seem to work here:
http://k3mist.com/bash/enable-compiz-fusion-on-your-gdm-login/

Can you guys provide a fix for it?

Thank you,

Bug#455854: Copying and pasting from a double column pdf fails

2011-04-09 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: libpoppler5
Version: 0.12.4-1.2
Severity: normal

Hello,

Also, I cannot select text from a single column in a double column PDF file.
That is, when I try to make the desired selection I also get text from the
neighboring column.

I remember reading about this quite a few years ago on launchpad. I thought it
got fixed by the ubuntu people. I might be wrong though.

Bug#569112: gdm spawns a new X server when told to restart the system

2010-02-09 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: gdm
Version: 2.20.10-1
Severity: normal

if you shut down from the gdm menu, gdm and X end.
then gdm respawns with the default gnome theme, sits there for a second and
only then starts the actual shutdown process.

Just like this ubuntu bug:

Bug#568822: gdm: Gnome shows the login screen on shutdown

2010-02-07 Thread Hugo A. M. Torres
Package: gdm
Version: 2.20.10-1
Severity: normal

When I shutdown the computer, the gnome login screen briefly shows up instead
of just shutting down.

That prevents splashy from working on shutdown for instance.

Other issues might arise that I don't know of.

 compizconfig.so . I moved it to dist-packages and created a symlink as
required. After that the problem was gone.

The startup mechanism has completely changed since the epoch this bug
was reported, so you’re meeting an entirely different issue.

Does the screensaver appear in the “startup applications” configuration
 applet (in the system menu)?

Then maybe you have another screensaver running instead of
xscreensaver, please check if you have gnome-screensaver, I've been
told it kill xscreensaver daemon but not so sure that's true.

I will close this bug, cheers.

Hi, when launching the xscreensaver demo a message pops up: the
XScreenSaver daemon doesn't seem to be running on display :0.0
  Launch it now?

I choose ok, and quit, launch it again, and the same message
reappears. It seems the daemon is not being loaded as it should.

Only One Screensaver or Random Screensaver.
