Bug#671932: plasma-desktop: segmentation fault after loging, unable to load KDE environment
Package: plasma-desktop Version: 4:4.7.4-2+b1 Followup-For: Bug #671932 Instead of switching (i.e. deleting) to a fresh plasma configuration, it is also possible to remove the plasma-scriptengine-python package as a stopgap measure. Plasma will be able to start again, and Python widgets will cease to work (presumably until the package is reinstalled). -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.3.5-reicore-72 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages plasma-desktop depends on: ii kde-runtime 4:4.7.4-2 ii kde-wallpapers-default4:4.7.4-2 ii libc6 2.13-32 ii libkcmutils4 4:4.7.4-4 ii libkdecore5 4:4.7.4-4 ii libkdeui5 4:4.7.4-4 ii libkephal4abi14:4.7.4-2+b1 ii libkfile4 4:4.7.4-4 ii libkidletime4 4:4.7.4-4 ii libkio5 4:4.7.4-4 ii libknewstuff3-4 4:4.7.4-4 ii libktexteditor4 4:4.7.4-4 ii libkworkspace44:4.7.4-2+b1 ii libplasma34:4.7.4-4 ii libplasmagenericshell44:4.7.4-2+b1 ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.8.1-1 ii libqt4-xml4:4.8.1-1 ii libqtcore44:4.8.1-1 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.1-1 ii libsolid4 4:4.7.4-4 ii libstdc++64.7.0-7 ii libtaskmanager4abi2 4:4.7.4-2+b1 ii libx11-6 2:1.4.99.901-2 ii libxext6 2:1.3.1-2 ii plasma-widgets-workspace 4:4.7.4-2+b1 Versions of packages plasma-desktop recommends: ii kde-workspace 4:4.7.4-2 plasma-desktop suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#672554: konsole: vertically misaligned/cut off characters when using Terminus font
Package: konsole Version: 4:4.7.4-2 Followup-For: Bug #672554 After a quick examination of the konsole git repository upstream searching for the relevant code and any mentions of Qt 4.8, it turns out this issue is already known [1] and it only happens when bidirectional text rendering is disabled in the Advanced tab for the configuration profile. I could generate a patch from [2] (after dealing with whitespace changes in the affected lines) against the version in wheezy/sid that fixes this issue, but in turn increases line spacing significantly when bidirectional rendering is disabled. Since there doesn't seem to be a better fix yet, enabling that option seems to be a better solution for me, from an aesthetic standpoint. Bug#672554: konsole: vertically misaligned/cut off characters when using Terminus font
Package: konsole Version: 4:4.7.4-2 Severity: normal Since a recent series of updates in testing (that just happened to include Qt 4.8.1), Konsole doesn't draw characters with descenders (g, q, y, p, for example) correctly when using the Terminus bitmap font at various sizes (bold or otherwise). The characters are rendered vertically misaligned, cutting them off at the baseline (a 'q' will look very much like an 'o') and leaving a noticeable gap above for each line. This problem occurs at the standard sizes provided by the font, but somehow not at sizes 9.8 - 10.1. Switching between the bold and regular variants does not improve the rendering. Truetype fonts in general seem unaffected, except for a couple of fonts (Consolas and Lucida Console) found in Windows systems; this might not be very relevant since they have never rendered quite right for me with different hinting/antialiasing settings. I couldn't reproduce this problem on other KDE applications such as Kate, which is why I decided to file this bug against Konsole's package. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.3.5-reicore-72 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages konsole depends on: ii kde-runtime4:4.7.4-2 ii libc6 2.13-32 ii libkdecore54:4.7.4-4 ii libkdeui5 4:4.7.4-4 ii libkio54:4.7.4-4 ii libknotifyconfig4 4:4.7.4-4 ii libkparts4 4:4.7.4-4 ii libkpty4 4:4.7.4-4 ii libqt4-dbus4:4.8.1-1 ii libqtcore4 4:4.8.1-1 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.1-1 ii libstdc++6 4.7.0-7 ii libx11-6 2:1.4.99.901-2 konsole recommends no packages. konsole suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#595421: choqok: Fails to allow changing auth options for existing accounts after twitter's oauth changes
Package: choqok Version: 0.9.81-2 Severity: normal After twitter's authentication system changes on August 31st [1], Choqok's old existing accounts won't be able to authenticate due to the server refusing requests with HTTP 500 replies. When going to Settings menu - Configure Choqok - Accounts to edit my current account (set up around July of this year), in the Edit account view under OAuth Authentication I clicked on Authenticate with Twitter service (the Authenticated indicator being visible on green in spite of the aforementioned), so the app starts a web browser with an API access confirmation page from the Twitter service, which then displays a PIN to use with the app. However, Choqok doesn't display a dialog box to set the PIN unless I delete the old account and recreate it, and go through the authentication setup again. This is a minor annoyance, but not all users might figure out this work around. After recreating my account settings, Choqok works perfectly fine. I haven't tried newer versions from upstream to check if this is still a problem and whether a fix could be backported to squeeze, yet. I still have backups of my old choqokrc file if it's necessary for further testing.
