Bug#802445: i3-wm does not work properly with some applications in full-screen mode
Package: i3-wm Version: 4.11-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, i3-wm has a problem with some applications running in full-screen mode. To reproduce it please start some virtual machine (with guest additions) in VirtualBox and then enter full-screen mode (initiated from VirtualBox menu). The screen gets blank. Sometimes the whole workspace gets blocked. The same happens with google-chrome when some pop-up manages to break through. It is however more difficult to reproduce . I am not 100% sure if the problem is caused by i3 only. In the meantime there have been several updates to i3, virtualbox and chrome. I can just say it does not happen with other window managers now and did not occur in earlier versions of i3 (4.10). -- Cheers Jacek -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.2.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages i3-wm depends on: ii libc6 2.19-22 ii libcairo2 1.14.2-2 ii libev41:4.15-3 ii libglib2.0-0 2.46.1-1 ii libpango-1.0-01.38.0-3 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.38.0-3 ii libpcre3 2:8.35-7.2 ii libstartup-notification0 0.12-4 ii libxcb-cursor00.1.1-3 ii libxcb-icccm4 0.4.1-1 ii libxcb-keysyms1 0.4.0-1 ii libxcb-randr0 1.10-3+b1 ii libxcb-util0 0.3.8-3 ii libxcb-xinerama0 1.10-3+b1 ii libxcb-xkb1 1.10-3+b1 ii libxcb1 1.10-3+b1 ii libxkbcommon-x11-00.5.0-1 ii libxkbcommon0 0.5.0-1 ii libyajl2 2.1.0-2 ii perl 5.20.2-6 ii x11-utils 7.7+3 Versions of packages i3-wm recommends: ii fonts-dejavu-core2.35-1 pn libanyevent-i3-perl ii libjson-xs-perl 3.010-2 ii xfonts-base 1:1.0.4+nmu1 ii xterm [x-terminal-emulator] 320-1 i3-wm suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
Bug#780019: mupdf: _NET_WM_NAME property not set
Package: mupdf Version: 1.6-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, mupdf does not set the property _NET_WM_NAME. Because of that some windows managers do not display the window title properly if the title includes UTF-8 enconded characters. The bug was reported upstream and patch was submitted: http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=695558;. After cleaning that up apt-get install libreoffice libreoffice-help-en-us always installs galaxy. So it should work? Did you specify any other theme explicitly or did you install something else and remove galaxy after it? That also would explain it. (And there's no APT bug at all.) from LO 4.1.6 to 4.2.4. As you can see from the aptitude log below I did it in two steps on the same day. In the log all the LO packages Why two steps? And how did you upgrade? apt-get dist-upgrade should have done the right thing... Did you do apt-get upgrade (which would explain this given they need new packages installed) and _only_ then dist-upgrade? This is weird steps. (I've seen documentation suggesting that, I still think this is questionable..) Or did you in some way enforce this manually? I did it in two steps because it happened that not all packages were on the mirror yet when I was upgrading. So in the first instance I upgraded only those which were available and which I could install without breaking dependencies. In twenty minutes the rest appeared so I upgraded them. I use aptitude and normally for upgrades the command 'U' which must be more or less dist-upgrade equivalent. Of course for the first run I selected the packages to upgrade manually although without any enforcements. -- Cheers Jacek -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. I can't reproduce this on my normal system but in a clean chroot where a apt-get install libreoffice libreoffice-help-en-us gives me only -style-sifr as the only icon set. If I install the real default icon set (libreoffice-style-galaxy) I get icons back.. Can you confirm? Yes, I can confirm it. Installing libreoffice-style-galaxy solves the problem. (I wonder how that happens anyway, but obviously apt is trying to be too clever and installs libreoffice-style-sifr instead of galaxy even though -common has Depends: libreoffice-style-default | libreoffice-style, ure, ${misc:Depends} S and -galaxy is the only provider of -style-default: Provides: libreoffice-style, libreoffice-style-default In 4.1.6 etc this seems to work And no idea why it should choose sifr...) The internals of apt are unknown to me. I was always wondering which of the providers would be chosen when there were many. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
