Same problem here, segfault only occurs when my PreSonus AudioBox 22VSL is
connected via USB.

Bug#991337: pulseaudio: Can confirm with another DAC/USB sound card

2021-07-24 Thread Jean-Marie Favreau
Dear maintainer, dear all,

It seems that the problem comes from the package libasound2-plugins from deb-
multimedia.
The following command to force the debian version of the package fixes the bug:

sudo apt install libasound2-plugins=1.2.2-2

Cheers

Bug#992780: libasound2-plugins: slow audio when plug/unplug external USB audio device

2021-08-23 Thread Jean-Marie Favreau
Package: libasound2-plugins
Version: 1.2.5-2
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

I am using a debian testing, and tried a couple of libasound2-plugins versions
(deb marillat versions, unstable version), but this bug is still present.
I am using an external USB audio device, and pulseaudio for usual audio usages
(browser, player, etc).
When pulsaudio starts, everything is fine with the audio system: when a sound
is played, everything is ok.
Even if I unplug the usb device, the audio file is still played in the internal
sound card with a correct bitrate.
Unfortunalely, when I replug the USB audio device, the audio file is now played
with a slow speed, as if the bitrate was not correctly interpreted;

I tried several settings in the /etc/pulse/daemon.conf without success: trying
to change defaultt-sample-rate / alternate-sample-rate to the same value or to
different values such as 44100 and 48000, using avoid-resampling=yes or not.

Here is the output of "pactl info":

Here is the output of "pacmd list-sinks" while the system is playing a slow
speed audio (after usb unplug / plug):

Bug#889544: Bug

2018-02-11 Thread Jean-Marie Favreau
Dear Maintainer,

When the laptop-mode was activated, I was getting in `dmesg` similiar messages
every few seconds :

After a non regular time, the disk did not start again, the system was frozen
(cannot use applications on kde, cannot log in a virtual console).
The last messages in syslog are:

I removed/purged the package. Finally, in order to reproduce the messages, I
reinstall it, and everything seems to come back to the normal. It might be a
configuration problem.

Sorry for these messages.

Bug#805438: plasma-pa: audio volume parameter not editable

2015-11-18 Thread Jean-Marie Favreau
Package: plasma-pa
Version: 5.4.2-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I have two computers with a debian/sid up-to-date system, one with the current
bug, the other one without, and I'm not able to reproduce the bug in the other
computer.
One the affected computer, I tried with two different user accounts, and the
bug still appears.

The bug affects the sliders and buttons available on the audio volume
parameters window. All tabs are visible, I can browse them, and the
sliders/button are exactly similar to the corresponding widgets in pavucontrol.
Even when I modify the values in pavucontrol, they are directly reproducted on
the plasma-pa parameters.

However, sliders and buttons modification is not possible on the plasma-pa
window (widgets are not editable, but not disabled).
