I haven't tested it, because I thought that the dracut script does not evaluate the value (as far as I can see from the sources). But OTOH dracut *sources* the configuration files, so this might actually work. Of course only if dracut sources them per kernel version. I could test it, but only on Monday ...

Hey there, thank you for the reply. I have to disagree on the "just permission missing". The problem is that the permission has to be set manually after each server restart. It can not be changed beforehand because then samba refuses to start, due to "wrong permissions" on the directory. Please reopen the bug. I want to output 5.1 sound via toslink. Used KDE settings to switch from analog output to digital out 5.1. This produced no or garbled sound and Youtube videos would play back way to fast without sound. Then I switched to digital out stereo, this worked as expected but only stereo. I could trace back the error to the shipped config file for alsa's a52 plugin: 60-a52-encoder.conf. When I replaced that file with a much simpler one (see below) 5.1 digital out worked as expedted. I tried with onboard sound (PCH9) and dedicated card (Audigy Z) with the same result, the inlcuded a52 config file does not work. == Start a52.conf pcm.a52 { @args [CARD] @args.CARD { type string } type rate slave { pcm { type a52 bitrate 448 channels 6 card $CARD } rate 48000 } } == End a52.conf Therefore I assume the shipped config file with debian has an error somewhere. Shares on clients are mounted with multiuser,cifsacl via autofs. (fstype=cifs,rw,multiuser,cifsacl,username=cifsmount,soft,sec=krb5i,vers=3.0) When copying a file to a share the permissions set on the folder on the server are not inherited by the copied files. However, when creating files directly on the share the permissions are inherited. Workaround: The permissions are set up on copy as anticipated when not using the mount option cifsacl. The mistakes are located in a so-called "news fetching recipe" in Zip archive /usr/share/calibre/builtin_recipes.zip. I tried to edit the recipe code but the mistakes remain in ebooks. I wrote an own custom recipe, I edited built-in recipe in ZIP archive - nothing helps. As a last try I switched off network and had success. That maked me curious, so I repeated the procedures with Wireshark logging network traffic. The result: Calibre completely ignores built-in recipes and loads python scripts from a server in Mumbai/India: https://code.calibre-ebook.com:443/... ( using self- signed wildcard certificate) It's a absolute taboo to load scripts in background from an untrusted server and execute them on a Linux computer without user permission and without informing user. This is a Debian OS not Windows. What if the scripts are containing malware or spyware? My workarond is to remove /usr/share/calibre/calibre-ebook-root-CA.crt. That breaks unwanted HTTPS connections. Here is a test script for verifying. Addendum: This bug was reported to the Orage developers in 2014 but never fixed. See https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10911 Is Orage abandonware or is this a "won't-fix-bug"? In comment #9 is another workaround https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10911#c9 "as I figured out the problem is DTEND tack. When DTEND is before 1970 then this appointment is not displayed. As a workaround I removed all DTEND- lines in ics-file." I think it's much better to patch Orage than fiddling around with the ics-files.

The error is in library file 'libavcodec.so.57' from package "libavcodec57" version 7:3.1.1-3. I suppose the error comes from GStreamer. There is something wrong with libav. Creator of this strange file is function tempfile.TemporaryFile() linked from libpython2.7. My file contains thumbnails (music album art work) which are used by Remuco and the MPRIS interface. Remuco stopped to display art work on remote devices because of the bug... Here is a litte python script to confirm the problem. Put a small jpeg to /tmp/test.jpg and start the script with python2.7 {script name} -- import tempfile import Image img = Image.open('/tmp/test.jpg') tmp = tempfile.TemporaryFile() try: print img img.save(tmp, "JPEG") tmp.seek(0) thumb = tmp.read() print thumb finally: tmp.close() -- On my computer this script creates a file in the current working directory and variable 'thumb' in script is empty. Package: pulseaudio-utils Version: 5.0-2 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, there is no way to control volume of system sounds by script with pacmd (eg. at login). Sometimes system sounds are much too loud. Then you have to start pavucontrol (if installed) and move the system sound slider to reduce sound volume. Or you have to switch off the sound card. This is a no-go for disabled people. You can enable this feature via gconf-editor: /desktop/gnome/sound/event_sounds /desktop/gnome/sound/input_feedback_sounds Event sounds are controlled by libcanberra. It implements the XDG Sound Theme and Naming Specifications for generating event sounds on free desktops, such as GNOME. AFAIK libcanberra doesn't change system volume. Some implementations pass the line through unchanged, some append a newline, some do not print the line at all: On GNU/Linux: bash-3.1$ echo -n foo | sed -n p foobash-3.1$ On SUN Solaris 2.10: bash-3.1$ echo -n foo | sed -n p bash-3.1$ On AIX 6.1: bash-3.1$ echo -n foo | sed -n p foo bash-3.1$ This does not only hold for the "p" command, but also for (seemingly) all others. 2. On HP-UX 11.23, regexp matching with expr does not allow multiple sub- expressions: bash-3.1$ expr 'Xfoo' : 'X\(f\(oo\)*\)$' expr: More than one '\(' was used.
