Bug#1018815: eg25-manager: typo in 80-modem-eg25.rules renders rules not being applied

2022-08-31 Thread Joerg Schuetter
Package: eg25-manager
Version: 0.4.4-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

The rules from /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/80-modem-eg25.rules are not applied
due to a typo on line 3
Line 3 should start with 'DRIVERS' instead of 'DRIVER', the character
'S' is missing.

*** End of the template - remove these template lines ***

2011-12-15 Thread Joerg Schuetter
Package: tomoyo-tools

Using radeon instead of fglrx makes the X-server survive. It also took more
attempts to crash the browser. I assume it crashed several times (calling
icewesel in a loop with different URLs).

Thanks Joerg,

so this bug was caused by your non-default setting of
dns_v4_fallback to off, right?

Bug#604775: squid3: Can't access www.google.com when using bind as DNS server

2011-02-14 Thread Joerg Schuetter
Hello Luigi

There is no error.log, the request simply times out.
I have 3 wireshark-dumps (text only) attached.

squid_2_googleDNS -- squid is asking the DNS servers from google
(squid times out / not working)

squid_2_totd -- squid is asking the NDS server running totd
(squid fetches the web page, everything is fine)

host_2_GoogleDNS -- running host www.squid.com 8.8.8.8
(dns data is displayed, the server running squid3 can request the
DNS server)

I hope this helps.

Looks like falling back to next server doesn't work with IPv6/tcp.
The bug 534851 sounds similar, but nobody mentioned IPv6 there.

Bug#546274: podracer: Let it depend on timeout or coreutils (= 7.5-6)

Package: podracer

The new coreutils package (7.5-6) brings a timeout executable (and conflicts

I rebuild the podracer package with changed dependency (now only depend on
coreutils = 7.5-6). Since I don't make use of torrent downloads I'm not sure
this timeout package behaves the same as the one bevore.

Bug#536754: unattended-upgrades: origin (Allowed-Origins) can't contain space (e.g. Unofficial Multimedia Packages)

2009-07-13 Thread Joerg Schuetter
Package: unattended-upgrades
Version: 0.42debian1
Severity: minor

This script seems not to honor origins with spaces
(e.g. Unofficial Multimedia Packages). I tried to fix it but I'm not sure if
this will break other configs.

This lines have been added to the script:
def split_allowed_origins(origin):
i = string.split(origin)
if len(i)  2:
return [string.join(i[:-1]), i[-1]]
else:
return i

And this line
allowed_origins = map(string.split,
apt_pkg.Config.ValueList(Unattended-Upgrade::Allowed-Origins))
was replaced by
allowed_origins = map(split_allowed_origins,
apt_pkg.Config.ValueList(Unattended-Upgrade::Allowed-Origins))

regards
  Joerg

Bug#490893: Could the portmap issue be caused by the missing K??portmap symlink

2008-09-26 Thread Joerg Schuetter
Could the portmap issue be caused by the missing K??portmap symlink
in rc1.d? By running update-rc.d -f portmap remove and then the command
update-rc.d portmap start 43 S . start 32 0 6 . stop 81 1 .
from the postinst-file the required stop script is in rc1.d.
To prevent tampering to much with these links it could be split up in
for single steps. This makes sure the link in rc1.d will be created even
if the creation of the other links failed (since already existing with a
different strt number). In my grown system I already had a few links to
portmap, so it was not possible to add new ones.

best regards

Since I don't want to mess up with the perl script (the code in

Bug#331429: sylpheed-claws-gtk2: language dictionary based on folder doesn't work (at least for nntp)

2005-10-03 Thread Joerg Schuetter
Package: sylpheed-claws-gtk2

For a few folders in my news folder I selected another default language
(default dictionary) via Properties -- Compose -- Default dictionary.
I selected en_US for one of this folder but if I select Spelling --
Highlight all misspelled words the default language (de) is used.
Setting an alternate language on my IMAP folders works perfect. So this
error seems to exist only in the nntp folders.

Bug#320919: mysql-common: Upgrade to 5.0.7beta-1 disabled the service

2005-08-02 Thread Joerg Schuetter
Package: mysql-common
Version: 4.0.24-10
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

After upgrading to mysql-common (4.0.24-10 = 5.0.7beta-1) I wasn't able
to start the mysql service again (booted due to a new kernel).

/var/log/syslog
Aug  2 08:42:19 pluto /etc/init.d/mysql[7294]: 0 processes alive and
'/usr/bin/mysqladmin --defaults-file=/etc/mysql/debian.cnf ping'
resulted in
Aug  2 08:42:19 pluto /etc/init.d/mysql[7294]: ^G/usr/bin/mysqladmin:
connect to server at 'localhost' failed
Aug  2 08:42:19 pluto /etc/init.d/mysql[7294]: error: 'Can't connect to
local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)'
Aug 2 08:42:19 pluto /etc/init.d/mysql[7294]: Check that mysqld is
running and
that the socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' exists!
Aug  2 08:42:19 pluto /etc/init.d/mysql[7294]:

I downgraded to stable to make the service work again.

I know that there are packages missing to have 5.0 for all mysql relatet
packages. This report is to prevent anyone else to run in this situation
again.

Bug#320570: sylpheed-claws-gtk2: Column size in newsgroup selection is fixed

2005-07-30 Thread Joerg Schuetter
Package: sylpheed-claws-gtk2
Version: 1.9.6cvs1-1
Severity: normal
Tags: experimental

Hi

To find new interresting newsgroups, I browse in the Newsgroup
subscription window. Unfortunately the hierarchy of some of these
branches is rather deep and the name of the newsgroup is truncated.
In former versions (don't know which ones) it was possible to resize the
width of the column to see the complete content. The mouse cursor
changes to a left-right arrow, but resizing is not possible.
Can you please reenable this function.

Bug#298047: mozilla-firefox: Block Referrer doesn't work anymore

2005-03-04 Thread Joerg Schuetter
Package: mozilla-firefox
Version: 1.0.1-1
Severity: normal

The option Block Referrer doesn't work as expected. The header line
Referer is no longer suppressed.
This could be an issue due to the combination of firefox and
mozilla-tabextensions (1.13.2005022401-1).
