Bug#840202: Seems to be somehow fixed

It still works after reinstalling this package and removing the cache. I have tried different ways to reproduce the bug with no success. Then I believe it can be closed. Cheers, Jonas

I did watch well the dates of the messages before answering, sorry :) Anyway, I have the impression that for wheezy the best option is either to switch to 1.0, either switch to a lower version that is known to be enough stable like 0.9.7 because it looks like a lot of work is to be done on 0.9.10 to make it stable enough. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". I'd prefer targeted fixes. > I'd suggest to accept 0.9.8 into squeeze, so that we can benifit from > many other distros which are using 0.9.8 version too. To my experience pcmanfm 0.9.8 and especially 0.9.10 are very buggy, but 0.9.7 from stable is OK. Almost every day I use 0.9.10, I encounter crashes. I think it is by far the most unstable programm I am using right now. I upgraded pcmanfm in one of my computer to 1.0 a few days ago and I don't have a lot of step back but it seems to work a lot better (no crash so far). It seems to me that too much fixes are to be made to make 0.9.10 stable enough. If I remember well, 0.9.8 was not as bad as 0.9.10 but its stability wasn't extraordinary either. Maybe the distros using 0.9.8 improved it enough since that time to make it enough stable. Jonas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Would the upgrade to 1.0 still be unlikely to occur soon if there exists a bug that makes the 0.9 version almost unusable ? Or will the bug fixes of 1.0 be backported to the 0.9 version ? Because there is a bug that makes pcmanfm 0.9 crash when double-clicking a folder while moving the mouse a little (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=678289), and since I switched to a very sensible mouse, it crashes every 2 or 3 double-clicks. So I was forced to upgrade to 1.0 because I just could not use pcmanfm 0.9 normally. Jonas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#678289: (no subject)
Hi, The frequency of the crashes seems to highly depend on the sensivity of the mouse. Before I switched to a very sensible mouse, it crashed once in a while when I inadvertently move a little the move during a double-click, but after the switching, it crashes every 2 or 3 double-clicks. Before I did an upgrade to the 1.0 version, I had to end opening my folders with single-click + enter. There is a recent thread here (http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.web.flash.quvi/61) with a patch that is supposed to fix a similar problem. I tried it but it didn't fix anything in my case. If I download the link given in example in the thread (http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xabpgu_groupies-1970-part-2-9_music), I don't have the same error as the author of the thread but this one : libquvi: error: no support: http://www.dailymotion.com/ch-fr?ff=1&urlback=%2Fvideo%2Fxabpgu_groupies-1970-part-2-9_music and the patch doesn't fix that either. Bug#513925: Duplex printing options are grayed for a Konica Minolta bizub C352 printer
Hi Didier, Sorry for the delay of the answer. I did some tests and I found that it is possible to set the duplex option in the advanced printing options. Nevertheless, in the print options box of the applications, the duplex option is usually present in another section and is here grayed. For example in Okular, there is in the print box a tab called "Options" and there is here a section called "Duplex Printing" in which there is the possibility to set the duplex to either "None", "Long side" or "Short side". In my case this option is grayed and set to "None" whatever the duplex option set in the advanced printing option. The same thing happens with a Konica Minolta C552 printer using the "KONICA MINOLTA C550 PS" driver. Here is what I found in /var/log/messages : Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.407370] usb 2-1.3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4 Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.475290] ata2.00: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x40d0002 action 0xe frozen Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.475293] ata2.00: ST_FIRST: !(DRQ|ERR|DF) Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.475297] ata2.00: SError: { RecovComm PHYRdyChg CommWake 10B8B DevExch } Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.475300] sr 1:0:0:0: CDB: Test Unit Ready: 00 00 00 00 00 00 Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.475309] ata2.00: cmd a0/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/a0 tag 0 Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.475310] res 00/01:01:01:14:eb/00:00:00:00:00/00 Emask 0x12 (ATA bus error) Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.475325] ata2.00: hard resetting link Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.501834] usb 2-1.3: New USB device found, idVendor=0951, idProduct=1607 Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.501837] usb 2-1.3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.501839] usb 2-1.3: Product: DataTraveler 2.0 Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.501841] usb 2-1.3: Manufacturer: Kingston Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.501842] usb 2-1.3: SerialNumber: 0013729945E6A9C0A6C6030B Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.501921] usb 2-1.3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.502279] scsi5 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.502410] usb-storage: device found at 4 Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19027.502412] usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning Mar 8 13:47:53 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19028.197857] ata2.01: hard resetting link Mar 8 13:47:55 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19029.224162] ata2.01: failed to resume link (SControl 0) Mar 8 13:47:55 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19029.379943] ata2.00: SATA link up 1.5 Gbps (SStatus 113 SControl 300) Mar 8 13:47:55 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19029.379969] ata2.01: SATA link down (SStatus 0 SControl 0) Mar 8 13:47:55 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19029.379983] ata2.01: link offline, clearing class 3 to NONE Mar 8 13:47:55 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19029.404140] ata2.00: configured for UDMA/100 Mar 8 13:47:55 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19029.404693] ata2: EH complete Mar 8 13:47:58 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19032.490715] usb-storage: device scan complete Mar 8 13:47:58 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19032.491302] scsi 5:0:0:0: Direct-Access Kingston DataTraveler 2.0 8.20 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 Mar 8 13:47:58 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19032.491690] sd 5:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg2 type 0 Mar 8 13:47:58 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19032.492547] sd 5:0:0:0: [sdb] 7825408 512-byte logical blocks: (4.00 GB/3.73 GiB) Mar 8 13:47:58 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19032.493403] sd 5:0:0:0: [sdb] Write Protect is off Mar 8 13:47:58 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19032.493406] sd 5:0:0:0: [sdb] Mode Sense: 23 00 00 00 Mar 8 13:47:58 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19032.493407] sd 5:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through Mar 8 13:47:58 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19032.495732] sd 5:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through Mar 8 13:47:59 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19032.495735] sdb: sdb1 Mar 8 13:47:59 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19033.582612] sd 5:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through Mar 8 13:47:59 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19033.582615] sd 5:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI removable disk Mar 8 13:47:59 EIFRWSE00160 kernel: [19034.053114] FAT: utf8 is not a recommended IO charset for FAT filesystems, filesystem will be case sensitive!
