Sorry Jamie, I already sent it out to my sponsor, don't know why's the
delay.

Hello Javier,

We didn't found that bug while compiling, in fact that patch is already
part of upstream so I doubt too many people passed that bug without
notice it. Could you please re-check?

Bug#494725: RFA: gkrellm -- The GNU Krell Monitors

2008-08-11 Thread Jose Luis Rivas Contreras
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

With a single process, gkrellm manages multiple stacked monitors and
supports applying themes to match the monitors appearance to your window
manager, Gtk, or any other theme.

I'm no longer using gkrellm in my machines, right now is working with a
patch for support of sysfs battery from Leo L. Schwab. (I already sent
it to upstream but haven't respond anything).

At the date there's a RC-bug already fixed in the GIT repository [0] and
sent to my sponsor awaiting to get uploaded [1].

Upstream doesn't seem inactive, even when I sent the new patch for sysfs
battery support and haven't respond anything (the patch is kind of big).

Please, tell me what you had to change in pam.d, maybe is an issue in
the debian package, I changed pam file in -2 release (which you tested)

I use this version but I haven't seen any issue with locking or unlocking.

Hi Ana,

Of course, I was just waiting to get it uploaded as well with the new
patch for other issues of xscreensaver, this weekend is the deadline for
getting it ready and working, so with what's done already xscreensaver
will be sent to a sponsor to get uploaded.

Thanks for asking :)

Thank you Andrzej,

They're different versions of the patch, that's why -3 works different
that Jamie's patch :)

I will unapply Bas's patch in favor of Jamie's patch then. I really had
no time to test it, anyway I will not build a binary for it until I got
it tested at least a little during this week.

Well, -2 version was about changing gkrellmd, not gkrellm. So I can't
see which is the issue in the packaging... Source didn't change that
much, the patches we applied to the package were merged upstream and
those are basically all the changes on 2.3.1...

and with the unstable releases of rtorrent/libtorrent I will fetch them
and upload to experimental :)

I would love that, but please, before filling the bug check why this is
caused, I don't have compiz so I can't test it and you leave almost zero
information, only that crashes and nothing else to check for...

Random ideas I get is that your cat fill the memory and the swap (maybe
too much files for your memory) and that's why occurs this but I cannot
confirm after knowing if it's the memory in fact.

Hi Sander,

Which hack are you using? I leave my notebook unattended all the night
with the same preferences y GNOME Power Management and I don't have any
issue (BTW, I'm using 5.05, not 5.04) Maybe is an issue with memory,
please check what's the memory status.

Hi, I as the maintainer of libtorrent would like to say that I don't
believe there's some need for renaming the library, is not that if you
write `aptitude install libtorrent' the rakshasa libtorrent will be
installed (it's called libtorrent10), there's libtorrent-ruby too and
isn't conflicting with libtorrent rakshasa name so there's no really
need, I believe.

Yes, I have tracked the issue and it seems is the init.d file but I
cannot guess where's the issue since doesn't starts, but the line is
well built. This is the line:

  start)
echo -n "Starting $DESC: "
start-stop-daemon --start --quiet --pidfile /var/run/$NAME.pid \
--exec $DAEMON -- $DAEMON_OPTS
echo "$NAME."
;;

It's supposed to start then but there's no pidfile in /var/run...

Any hint?

Hi Juergen,

Please, could you test this with 5.05-2? Without compiz? How does you
launch interaggregate? If starts dropping messages in the terminal about
some ClientMessage please take note that this was fixed already in 5.05.

Well, this worked fine before and in the rest is working fine, gkrellm
haven't change, so I strongly believe this is a bug with fvwm and not
gkrellm... Reassigning.

Short resume:
Now the window doesn't resize as should but restarting fvwm fixes this,
when disabling plugins the window get smaller and when able gets bigger,
there's something that don't let the window make this correctly.

Hi, I'm using the kernel 2.6.24 and I can't reproduce this bug, the
battery is reflected correctly in my gkrellm.

Anyway I'm letting this bug as a wishlist and setting the title to
something more related with the actual bug.

Yes, the issue here is that there seems to be some kind of problem while
the gkrellm daemon is trying to create the PID, I'm checking these,
maybe there could be some problem with permissions.

Hi,

Which screensaver are you using, I can't note this, maybe is because I
have a video card so my CPU doesn't render anything, if you're using a
GL screensaver your CPU shouldn't be working then.

.TH EGGDROP 1 2008-01-02
.SH NAME
eggdrop \- Advanced IRC Robot
.SH SYNOPSIS
\fBeggdrop\fP [options] [config-file]

.SH DESCRIPTION
\fBeggdrofP is an IRC bot written in C, which sits on channels and takes
protective measures, such as preventing it from being taken over (in the few
ways that anything can), recognizing banned users to reject them, recognizing
privileged users to give them operator status, punishing users for things like
flooding, among innumerable others.

.SH OPTIONS
.TP
\fB\-n\fR
Don't background. Normally, Eggdrop will move itself into the background when
you start it up, meaning you'll get another shell prompt, and you can do other
things while the bot is running. With -n, you won't return to the shell prompt
until the bot exits (which won't normally happen until it's killed). By
default, -n will send all log entries to the console.
.TP
\fB\-nt\fR
Don't background, use terminal. This is just like -n, except that instead of
seeing log entries, your console will simulate a DCC chat with the bot.
.TP
\fB\-nc\fR
Don't background, show channel info. This is just like -n, except that instead
of seeing log entries, every 10 seconds your screen will clear and you will see
the current channel status, sort of like "top".
.TP
\fB\-m\fR
Create userfile. If you don't have a userfile, this will make Eggdrop create
one and give owner status to the first person that introduces himself or
herself to it. You'll need to do this when you first set up your bot.
.TP
\fB\-h\fR
Show help.
.TP
\fB\-v\fR
Show version info, then quit.

Well, that's with kscreensaver which is different to xscreensaver, it's
not hard-core pron used as a screensaver, it's random images, anyway in
the setting you can set up a dictionary so webcollage looks for images
with the words you setted up. And, if you select the settings of
webcollage in xscreensaver-demo you will see the same warning.

Sorry, I'm serious about what I'm saying and that smiley was referrer to
something like "there's no problem"

Well, the internet is not supposed to be suitable for a household with
children, sorry, that's the internet. That's why exists the vidwhacker
version, but anyway, webcollage is not intended to be a porn
download-n-show the dictionary used by default is the spell-checker of
your system and you can change this anyway.

Ok, check the description of the apt package:
http://packages.debian.org/sid/apt

"Advanced front-end for dpkg"!! And does aptitude depends on the apt
package? No! Depends on libapt! Which is not apt.

If you're so kind and look in the BTW again then you will find a bug

not and "important" bug, it's normal.

Simple diffs, or better in a git/svn (I haven't work with any of these
so I'm ok with learning any of this two).
Or do it your own way? Would you like to

It's not necessary, I believe this could be kept in wiki.d.o easily. :-)

I used dpatch just because was the simplest and fastest way to
implement, I'm ok with changing the patch system if is easier for you.
00_maindiffwithorig.patch is the easier way to migrate from the old way
to maintain xscreensaver.

It's not autogenerated, should be shipped in `debian/` and copied at
build time but I haven't done this (don't now yet why, maybe I've
forgotten this), anyway I didn't used this in the last release (5.04-1).

Hi kls, I read your email but since I do not have any dual display
environment to test it I can confirm or denied that this bug exists, any
help will be well received.

It's necessary for building with gdmflexiserver support (#436010)... I'm
trying right now to hack it, in the meanwhile, I don't know if this bug
should remain serious since I built this package in others pbuilders
without problems with gdm as build-depend...

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your feedback but I haven't been able to reproduce this bug,
I was thinking maybe is something in some systems that (maybe) hibernate
USB plugs? Juliet said that reconnecting the mouse makes it work but
your workaround makes that just not possible, I will check what launchs
the demo and check what could be.

Jose Luis.
