Bug#572462: kile projects mimetype is not installed

2010-03-04 Thread Julien Bigot
Package: kile
Version: 1:2.1.0~svn1055250beta3-1
Severity: normal

On my system, kile projects are not recognized in dolphin or other file
browsers to be opened by kile.

running kbuildsycoca4 leads to the following output :
kbuildsycoca4(13516) KBuildServiceFactory::populateServiceTypes:
"/usr/share/applications/kde4/kile.desktop" specifies undefined
mimetype/servicetype "text/x-kilepr"

Maybe this is related to the fact that kile installs the x-kilepr.desktop file
in /usr/share/mimelink/text/ instead of /usr/share/mimelnk/text/ where all
other packages do.

Best regards,
Julien

Bug#566251: backtrace

2010-03-05 Thread Julien Bigot
Hi,

I have a similar problem here.

By using run --nocrashhandler --nofork in gdb I managed to get a backtrace.
It seems there is an infinite recursion leading to a stack overflow.
See attached backtrace and offending config file.

By moving the config file around and restarting korganizer I got a working
solution bu it still crashes when accessing the korganizer kpart from inside
kontact.

If this is of any importance, I have recently reconfigured akonadi completely,
including removing and recreating all akonadi resources.

Best regards,
Julien

Bug#576697: python-paramiko: paramiko fails to load : ImportError: No module named Crypto.Util.randpool

2010-04-06 Thread Julien Bigot
Package: python-paramiko
Version: 1.7.6-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

paramiko fails to load on my system with the following backtrace:
import paramiko
  File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.5/paramiko/__init__.py", line 69, in
from transport import randpool, SecurityOptions, Transport
  File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.5/paramiko/transport.py", line 32, in

from paramiko.common import *
  File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.5/paramiko/common.py", line 98, in

  File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.5/paramiko/rng.py", line 23, in
from Crypto.Util.randpool import RandomPool as _RandomPool
ImportError: No module named Crypto.Util.randpool

I guess python-crypto somehow changed its API as it works well with
python-crypto 2.0.1+dfsg1-5 for example.

Regards,
Julien

Bug#576697: python-paramiko: paramiko fails to load : ImportError: No module named Crypto.Util.randpool

2010-04-07 Thread Julien Bigot
I don't get it.

Wouldn't that be better to make the packet impossible to install (at least
without downgrading python-crypto) ?

For those that didn't upgrade python-crypto it wouldn't upgrade and they would
keep a valid config.
For others it would at least give a hint on what the problem is.

Right now you can install the package sure ... but if you can't use it, what's
the point ?

Julien

Bug#573325: openssh-client: ssh-agent strips LD_LIBRARY_PATH from user profile in X sessions

2010-03-10 Thread Julien Bigot
Package: openssh-client
Version: 1:5.3p1-3
Severity: normal

ssh-agent as launched by /etc/X11/Xsession.d/90x11-common_ssh-agent is the
parent of every user process in an X session
however, ssh-agent is suid root and thus removes LD_LIBRARY_PATH from its
environment
as a result, setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH in your environement does not work for X
sessions

The second approach where ssh-agent generate shell commands should be used
instead.
With this approach it is not the father of other processes anymore.

Julien

A little correction, ssh-agent is not suid root but sgid ssh, my mistake.
Anyway, it doesn't change anything to the remaining of the bugreport.

Bug#560056: upstream bug

2010-01-14 Thread Julien Bigot
It seems the upstream bug on the Sun bug-tracker (
http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6342561 as stated by Marco
d'Itri ) is considered of rather low priority.

I saw however that the bug-tracker has a "voting" feature.
Perhaps people hit by the bug and having an account at Sun could try voting
for it.

Please take note that this is not an encouragement to flood the bug-tracker.
I'm just hoping that we can help people at Sun realize that this bug is
annoying some of its users and that it's not just some crazy people at Debian
asking for a crazy feature.

2008-08-03 Thread Julien Bigot
klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'digikamalbums'

I think this error is due to the fact that the protocol files of digikam are
not installed.

I changed debian/digikam.install to:
usr/bin/digi*
usr/include
usr/lib
usr/share/applications/kde4/digikam.desktop
usr/share/apps/digikam/
usr/share/icons/*/*/apps/digikam.*
usr/share/kde4/

These files are now installed and things are working better.
It would be great if someone that better understands which files should and
should not be installed did a full review.

Bug#470253: (no subject)

2008-03-10 Thread Julien Bigot
I think I understood where the bug comes from.

I have libgs8 at version 8.61 (because libokularcore1 from experimental
depends on this specific version)
ghostscript has been updated to version 8.62 because it depends on libgs8 at
any version.
However, it seems that ghostscript 8.62 needs the 8.62 version of libgs8 (or
is it libgs8 8.61 that needs the 8.61 version of ghostscript ?)

So, a simple fix could be to update ghostscript 8.62's dependancy to require
libgs8 at the exact 8.62 version.

Bug#977545: libnetcdf-mpi-dev: The provided CMake config file (netCDFConfig.cmake) refers to non-existing directories

2020-12-16 Thread Julien Bigot
Package: libnetcdf-mpi-dev
Version: 1:4.7.4-1+b1
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: jul...@julien-bigot.fr

Dear Maintainer,

Using the parallel version of NetCDF from CMake leads to invalid path found.

  The provided CMake config file is installed to the canonical path
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/cmake/netCDF_mpi/netCDFConfig.cmake but in order
to be found by CMake, it must be used from the actual path
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/lib/cmake/netCDF/netCDFConfig.cmake
( Cf.
https://cmake.org/cmake/help/latest/command/find_package.html#search-procedure
on unix-like systems, the path has to contain either lib/ or share/ just
before the package name.) Hence I used the following command to build my
library depending on NetCDF:
```
cmake -DCMAKE_PREFIX_PATH=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/
```
This resulted in the following output:
```
CMake Error at
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/lib/cmake/netCDF/netCDFConfig.cmake:25
(message):
  File or directory /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/include referenced by
  variable netCDF_INCLUDE_DIR does not exist !
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/lib/cmake/netCDF/netCDFConfig.cmake:33
(set_and_check)
  CMakeLists.txt:43 (find_package)
```

Indeed, netCDFConfig.cmake sets the variable netCDF_INCLUDE_DIR to
"${PACKAGE_PREFIX_DIR}/include" where PACKAGE_PREFIX_DIR is set to
"${CMAKE_CURRENT_LIST_DIR}/../../../../" (relative to netCDFConfig.cmake
actual path, i.e. /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/lib/cmake/netCDF/)
  This resolves to PACKAGE_PREFIX_DIR=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf and
then netCDF_INCLUDE_DIR=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/include that does
not exist (missing the mpi/ bit). The package libnetcdf-mpi-dev installs its
include files in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/include/

I tried to have a look at the source package on salsa to provide a patch,
however the link provided at
https://packages.debian.org/source/sid/netcdf-parallel regarding the Debian
Source Repository is inaccessible to me
( https://salsa.debian.org/mckinstry/netcdf-parallel ) is the
dev-coinstallable branch of https://salsa.debian.org/mckinstry/netcdf the new
canonical source for these packages?

Best regards,
Julien Bigot

Bug#977545: libnetcdf-mpi-dev: The provided CMake config file (netCDFConfig.cmake) refers to non-existing directories

2020-12-16 Thread Julien Bigot
Please also note that trying to work-around the issue by specifying
`-DCMAKE_PREFIX_PATH=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/lib/` to cmake
instead to leverage the recursive symlink
`/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/lib/` -> `./`
and add an extra element to the path leads to another similar error:
```
CMake Error at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/lib/lib/cmake/netCDF/
netCDFConfig.cmake:25 (message):
  File or directory /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
  referenced by variable netCDF_LIB_DIR does not exist !
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/lib/lib/cmake/netCDF/netCDFConfig.cmake:
34 (set_and_check)
  CMakeLists.txt:43 (find_package)
```

I believe both issues could be solved by creating the symlink
`/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/lib/${DEB_HOST_MULTIARCH}` -> `../`
instead.

Julien Bigot

Bug#963127: libnetcdf-mpi-dev: libnetcdf-mpi is built against parallel HDF5 but without parallel NetCDF support

2020-06-19 Thread Julien Bigot
Package: libnetcdf-mpi-dev
Version: 1:4.7.3-2+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

It looks like the libnetcdf-mpi family of packages are indeed built against
MPI/parallel HDF5, however contrary to my expectations they do not provide
parallel support, i.e. NC_HAS_PARALLEL4 and NC_HAS_PARALLEL are both set to 0
in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/netcdf/mpi/include/netcdf_meta.h

I don't know if that was the intended behaviour. In case this is, it could be
useful to document it in the package description. Otherwise, I believe one
would need to pass -DENABLE_PARALLEL4 to cmake around line 54 of
https://salsa.debian.org/mckinstry/netcdf/-/blob/0fdee46b5f85ea7ceb5dffd863a4258afbd3fb35/debian/rules

Julien

Bug#1019055: libnetcdf-mpi-dev: provided netCDFTargets.cmake refers to libblosc.so but does not depend on libblosc-dev

more specifically, the `/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libblosc.so` bit.

I'm not sure wether this is an actual dependency that should be added to the
package or if this is an erroneous artefact that should not appear there.

Bug#699680: [kdevelop] Kdevelop is linked against wrong library name

2013-02-03 Thread Julien Bigot
Package: kdevelop
Version: 4:4.3.1-3+b1
Severity: important

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

kdevelop-4:4.3.1-3+b1 depends on kdevplatform5-libs.

kdevplatform5-libs provides libs ending in .so.5.0.0 linked by .so.5

the kdevelop binary is linked against libraries ending in .so.3

Just renaming or lniking the library works well (i.e. no symbol error or bug
as far as I noticed) which seems to indicate that only the name is wrong, the
library version is alright.

Bug#761244: [hdf5-helpers] wrong library path in h5fc

2014-09-11 Thread Julien Bigot
Package: hdf5-helpers
Version: 1.8.13+docs-10
Severity: important

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

The h5fc compiler wrapper uses a path for libraries that does not match that
of the libraries provided by the libhdf5 package.
The h5cc wrapper has no such problem.

Bug#758808: systemd: timed out waiting for lvm devices

2014-10-08 Thread Julien Bigot
I have a similar problem here.

This is a new sid install from about a month ago after a crash of my disk
holding / but reusing a LVM (over md soft. raid1) from the previous install
for the other disks.

It worked for a week or 2 then stopped.

On boot, I now get an emergency shell asking for root password, then if I just
type in /etc/init.d/lvm2 restart and leaves the shell, everything goes well.

Unlike Michael Biebl, I have the TAGS=:systemd:

let me know what other information I could provide

e.g. with one of the LVM drives
