Bug#1079277: calibre: 7.16 disallow templates with remote servers which breaks automations

2024-08-22 Thread Kamil Jonca
Package: calibre
Version: 7.16.0+ds-2
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream
X-Debbugs-Cc: kjo...@poczta.onet.pl

With (e.g.) commit
https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibre/commit/38a1bf50d8cd22052ae59c513816706c6445d5e9
Author disallows use templates with remote connections. I am not sure what
"use" means in this context but, it makes
commands like:

%calibredb list --with-library='http://localhost:/#CalibreLibrary' -f "all"
--ascending --sort-by timestamp --for-machine -s 'series:"=my_hist"' -f "title"
The use of templates is disallowed when connecting to remote servers for
security reasons

or even:

%calibredb list --with-library='http://localhost:/#CalibreLibrary'

The use of templates is disallowed when connecting to remote servers for
security reasons

stopped work.

7.13 works as expected.

Bug#1070732: bluez: re-inserting adapter makes bluetoothd (and 100% cpu)

2024-05-07 Thread Kamil Jonca
Package: bluez
Version: 5.73-1
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: kjo...@poczta.onet.pl

I have usb bluetooth adapter:

Bus 005 Device 115: ID 0b05:17cb ASUSTek Computer, Inc. Broadcom BCM20702A0
Bluetooth

When I plug out and then plug in this adapter - bluetooth daemon started
to get "running" state (top shows 100% cpu), bluetooth stopped to work,
cannot use bluetoothctl, and only solution is to restart bluetooth
service.

Additional info:
firstly I such behavior I observed on my laptop which has:
Bus 003 Device 006: ID 8087:0033 Intel Corp.
during hibernation I remove xhci_pci module, and after hibernation reload it,
and sometimes bluetooth cannot deal with this

Bug#1033537: aide-common: More configurable MTA command when run as non-root

2023-03-26 Thread Kamil Jonca
Package: aide-common
Version: 0.18.1-2
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-Cc: kjo...@poczta.onet.pl

Recently aide started to send mails not by sendmail command but by connecting
to port 25 on localhost, using s-nail.
As I can see user (root) sending mail is hardcoded in
/usr/share/aide/bin/dailyaidecheck
these changes makes filtering mails quite fragile. It would be nice to have for
example
custom header describes that this is the mail from aide on host
say
X-Aide: $hostname
or sth.

"xlog" function renames to "wal" functions.

Bug#987545: libpam-u2f: libpam_u2f does not require pin regardless of key definition

2021-04-25 Thread Kamil Jonca
Package: libpam-u2f
Version: 1.1.0-1
Severity: normal

I issued directly against pam-u2f module, at
https://github.com/Yubico/pam-u2f/issues/175
but I am not sure if they want to do anything about it.
I did some digging and found that pin verification flags are used only to print
prompt for pin,
but then there is not checking if pin is not null.
And libuf2 library, in case of null pin does not perform pin checking.
So my PoC solution is attached (I hope this properly release resources)

so far I used DVI and everything works ok.
Recently I tried to use HDMI output.
And since then, every time I start vlc with movie I got gpu lockup/restart(?).

Package: go-mtpfs
Version: 0.0~git20180209.d6f8f3c-1
Severity: important

I have lenovo K5 Android phone.
when I mount it with:
go-mtpfs -dev 'b41adca4' /media/skowronek/

files are visible for a while, but then disappeared - cannot see them (although
they remain on phone)
Honestly - i do not know if it is bug in go-mtpfs or libusb lub mtp library.

Bug#905408: libreoffice: missed radiobuttons and checkbox in forms

2018-08-03 Thread Kamil Jonca
Source: libreoffice
Version: 3a6.1.0~rc2-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I found that in my database forms, at version 6.1 libreoffice, all checkboxes
and radiobuttons are missing.
Only their labels exist, but no field to enter/check value.
Simplest way to observe it is to run:
soffice -base
and try to choose 'open existing database file'
In 6.0x everything is ok.

sites-enabled - with config files actually used by freeradius daemon
with default configuration all sites-enabled files are symlinks to
sites-available ones.
Recommended way to customize configuration is
1. remove symlink
2. copy proper file from sites-available to sites-enabled and edit it

I modified "default" file this way.
And now my "sites-enabled/default" file is overwritten with symlink.

Bug#881754: amanda-server: Amanda does not lock while dumping - multiple sessions possible

2017-11-14 Thread Kamil Jonca
Package: amanda-server
Version: 1:3.5-2
Severity: grave
Tags: upstream
Justification: causes non-serious data loss

(I am not sure if it is upstream)

I used to make backup two phases.
1. amdump to holding space, and then
2. amflush to target disk (vtapes)
I noticed that I can make amflush during amdump - it should not be possible as
can flush incomplete file.
Moreover I can run multiple amflush processes - I supsect, that they destroy
backup files during flush .

Bug#875295: mailutils: Incorrect message flags in maildir

2017-09-10 Thread Kamil Jonca
Package: mailutils
Version: 1:3.1.1-1
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

According to http://cr.yp.to/proto/maildir.html
letter R and S in message file name means that user has Replied and See(n)
message.
Unfortunately mailutils author does not follow this convention;
R treates as Read , and for 'Answered' letter 'a' is used.
This breaks compatibility with other maildir-aware software.
I think that mailutils shold be more compatible with referenced spec.

I tried to discuss wiht package author but he insist for his approach.

Bug#854216: logrotate sends compressed logs by email

Package: logrotate
Version: 3.11.0-0.1

After upgrade logrotate sends me compressed logs after rotation instead of
plain uncompressed ones.

I can't find any documentation about this change (ie. new option or sth) so I
do not know if it is
intentional or not.

With 3.8.7-2 I got text as expected.

Bug#760039: amanda-server: Amstatus - permission denied (should be ignored?)

2014-08-31 Thread Kamil Jonca
Package: amanda-server
Version: 1:3.3.6-1+b1
Severity: normal

When I try to run as user kjonca in my home directory command:

$sudo -u backup amstatus alfa

I got:
Can't locate Tie/StdHash.pm: Permission denied at
/usr/share/perl/5.20/base.pm line 97.
...propagated at /usr/share/perl/5.20/base.pm line 106.

Compilation failed in require at /usr/sbin/amstatus line 13.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/sbin/amstatus line 13.

stracing shows me:
[...cut a lot ... ]
stat("./Tie/StdHash.pmc", 0x7fff197be720) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied)
stat("./Tie/StdHash.pm", 0x7fff197be650) = -1 EACCES (Permission denied)
[... cut a lot ...]
So I suspect than amstatus try to get some files in curranet directory.

Moreover when I run amstatus in directory with read acces (for example /tmp or
/ )
amstatus work correctly.

I don't know if it is upstream error.
