Bug#946379: unattended-upgrades: wrong german translation in the help information

2019-12-08 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: unattended-upgrades
Version: 1.15
Severity: minor
Tags: newcomer

Dear Maintainer,

when i do "unattended-upgrades --help" i get:

-8<-
Usage: unattended-upgrades [options]

Options:
-h, --helpshow this help message and exit
-d, --debug Nachrichten zur Fehlersuche ausgeben
--apt-debug APT/LibAPT detaillierte Nachrichten zur Fehlersuche
ausgeben lassen
  -v, --verbose Infomeldungen anzeigen
--dry-run Simulation, herunterladen, aber nicht installieren
--download-only Nur herunterladen, aber nicht versuchen zu
installieren.
  --minimal-upgrade-steps
Upgrade in minimal steps (and allow interrupting with
SIGTERM) (default)
  --no-minimal-upgrade-steps
Aktualisierung in kleinen Schritten (und Unterbrechung
mit SIGTERM erlauben)
->8-

i think something went wrong in the german translation of the sections
concerning --(no-minimal-upgrade-steps). the german text for --no-minimal-
upgrade-steps would be correct for --minimal-upgrade-steps but is -- as i
strongly assume -- wrong for --no-minimal-upgrade-steps.

kind regards & hope this helps
Lorenz Wenner

Package: tftpd-hpa
Version: 5.2+20140608-3

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello there,

dont know much detail, but here is my problem:

i am running tftpd-hpa to hand out ltsp images to thinclients and boot
and them via PXE. That worked right until before i updated to this
version of tftp-hpa. i am writing this on the one client that has and
booted before update. Now when i boot a client it says

my /etc/default/tftpd-hpa:

TFTP_USERNAME=tftp
TFTP_DIRECTORY=/srv/tftp
TFTP_ADDRESS=0.0.0.0:69

permissions are imho correct:

Bug#718178: [sflphone-kde] crash on startup

2013-08-18 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Thanks for your reply.
I just reinstalled the Package after purging it. I testet it with my
standard all day user profile.
Meanwhile I switched to linphone, so in case I was the only person with
this bug it is no longer relevant.

Kind regards
Lorenz

Can you clarify what exactly you mean by after a fresh install? Did
you reinstall all of debian or just the package? if the latter did you
purge the package before reinstalling and did you test with a clean user

Bug#708210: [maxima] Documentation broken?

2013-05-14 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: maxima
Version: 5.30.0-4
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello there,

recently i updated to the current version of maxima. Since then i cannot get
any help bye typing e.g.

??solve

i get the list of help topics, but after choosing a number (e.g. 0) the
following error message is printed

Maxima encountered a Lisp error: Error in MACSYMA-TOP-LEVEL [or a callee]:
Cannot open the file /build/buildd-maxima_5.30.0-4-
i386-8tSGmI/maxima-5.30.0/doc/info/./maxima.info-3.Automatically continuing.To
enable the Lisp debugger set *debugger-hook* to nil.

this happens as well in wxmaxima, as in xmaxima and as in maxima on the
console.

i tried

locate maxima-5.30.0/doc/info/

and got no result. To me it seem there are some files missing.

Kind Regards
Lorenz

Bug#681297: [korganizer] [feature request] korganizer should help users to keep calendar files small

2012-07-12 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: korganizer
Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Hello folks,

in my view korganizer works way faster if calendar files are kept small. I
could increase speed massively by reshaping an .ics file from 300k to 12k. I
did that by manually cleaning up the past which took an hour or so, but was
a very simply task. So i would very much like to see a feature in korganizer
that allows the user to trigger that past events are erased or moved to some
kind of archive, which should be another file, of course.

For repeated events it could mean that they are processed after their last
occurrence is over. Or that every time an occurrence becomes part of the past
it is removed/archived and at the same time the following occurrence is set
the starting point of the sequence.

There should also be the freedom say that past event are kept for some time
before they are removed/archived.

The reason for this feature request is that a calendar should rather keep the
focus on the future than the past.

Kind Regards
Lorenz

Bug#668561: [korganizer] more investigations and a feature request

2012-07-12 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: korganizer
Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello folks,

I realized that the problem primarily occurs when loading a specific .ics
file. And the reason is that this file was very big for an .ics file (300k).
After shrinking it down to 12k by manually by removing almost all events of
the past it is loaded reasonably quicker now. Although i ask myself whether it
is normal that cpu goes up to such high rates every time when loading an .ics
file...

While removing all those old events i thought to myself it would be nice if
korganizer would do that for me. I wrote a corresponding feature request. See
Bug#681297.

Kind Regards
Lorenz

Bug#660477: [reportbug-ng] confirm

2012-07-08 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: reportbug-ng
Version: 1.27

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello folks,

i experience the same behavior. I tried to create a backtrace following this

http://wiki.debian.org/HowToGetABacktrace

but it did not work. Perhaps because reportbug-ng is a pyhton script and not
an executable file. At least gdb complained about that.

You can try your luck e.g. with Bug#680594

Kind Regards
Lorenz

Bug#680594: [plasma-desktop] Fetch job Error, cannot select this collection right after login

2012-07-07 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: plasma-desktop
Version: 4:4.8.4-2
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello folks.

Right after login into kde there appears an error massage on all desktops (see
attachment respectively in (german) words:

Fetch job Error: Plasma-Desktop-Umgebung
Unbekanntes [sic!] Fehler (Cannot select this collection)

) The behavior is that i cannot switch to another desktop or resize any window
that was minimized to window bar until i close the windows containing that
error message. I searched through the debian BTS as well as i googled for the
error but there were no results, so i opened a new report. What can i do to
determine what the reason is?

kind Regards
Lorenz

Bug#680104: [amarok] chrash upon jumping in ogg podcasts

2012-07-03 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: amarok
Version: 2.5.0-3
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello there,

this report is likely to be related to #679729, but i was not sure, therefore
i started a new report. Amarok shows the following reproducible behavior: it
crashes when i jump while playing a podcast in ogg-format. i tested the file

http://alternativlos.cdn.as250.net/alternativlos-24.ogg

and other episodes of this podcast, which are also in ogg format. Every time i
jumped to another position amarok crashed.

I also tried local ogg files and podcasts in mp3, such as the file
http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/cre-podcast/~5/aMJ8ZG1SiMk/cre194-bier.mp3

Conclusion: both local ogg and remote mp3 worked well. only remote ogg leeds
to crash when setting the position.

Hope this helps
Lorenz

Bug#679729: [amarok] crashed again, but now with amarok-dbg package installed

2012-07-02 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: amarok
Version: 2.5.0-3

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello again,

amarok just crashed again, but this time i had the package amarok-dbg
installed. There are differences between the outputs with respectively without
the amarok-dbg
package, i checked it with kdiff3, but here i am at the end of my abilities. I
hope these informations are useful somehow, although the kde crash notifier
says there are
not...

kind Regards
Lorenz

Bug#679729: [amarok] amarok crashes for unknown reason

2012-07-01 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: amarok
Version: 2.5.0-3
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello, amarok just crashed, while i was listening to some podcast. I did
nothing special, so it is hard for me to reproduce the error in a way other
than by restarting
amarok and waiting. Strangely (but luckily) i could generate some information
about the crash (see below) although i do not have the package amarok-dbg
installed. Hope it
helps. i will also install the package amarok-dbg to be able to commit further
information if it crashes again.

Regards and thank you for developing and/or maintaining my favorite audio player

Bug#670689: [iceweasel] dependency collisions

2012-04-28 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: iceweasel
Version: 12.0-2
Severity: important

this related to Bug#670655: [xul-ext-adblock-plus] dependency collision

There is a set of packages, which have both dependencies damaging and
enhancing iceweasel:

xul-ext-adblock-plus 2.3.0-1
xul-ext-automatic-save-folder 1.0.4-2
xul-ext-cookie-monster 1.1.0-4
xul-ext-debianbuttons 1.7.1
xul-ext-debianbuttons 1.8-2
xul-ext-foxyproxy-standard 1.4-1
xul-ext-firecookie 3.4-1
xul-ext-refcontrol 0.8.16-1

if i want to install one of these iceweasel enhancing packages, aptitude says
that iceweasel would be damaged.

Regards
Lorenz

Bug#609817: [ktorrent] here is a back trace

2012-04-19 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: ktorrent
Version: 4.2.0-1

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello folks,

i experience that ktorrent crashes from time to time. If i restart the
program, downloads continue flawlessly. So my files don't get damaged, but it
is
annoying. After having had 5 crashes or so in a row i installed gdb and
ktorrent-dbg to get he following back trace. I hope that it helps you
improving ktorrent.

Thanks

Bug#668561: [korganizer] korganizer freezes when activating akonadi-ressource

2012-04-12 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: korganizer
Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Hello folks,

I have multiple calenders as akonadi-ressources. They can be (de-)activated
one by one using check boxes. When I activate them, korganizer uses almost all
my cpu and is unusable for several minutes.

Regards
Lorenz

Bug#656956: [geogebra] GeGebra freezes upon some commands

2012-02-26 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: geogebra
Version: 4.0.19.0+dfsg1-2

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello,

today i happily recognized, that there is GeoGebra 4.0 now available in
Debian/wheezy. right after installation i did a test to see if the mentioned
bug is fixed now. But the result seems to be negative. when started from the
console it says:

GeoGebra 4.0.19.0 10 January 2012 Java 1.6.0_24
*** Message from [geogebra.main.Application.setUpLogging]
/tmp/GeoGebraLog_random_chars.txt

i attached the tmp files resulting from three tries to start geogebra and
derive a simple polynomial. The program totally freezes. Same behavior with
command (in german)

Ableitung[sin(x)]

I did not test all the other commands.

hope that helps a little bit. could please anybody give me a hint, how i can
produce more debugging output. me - not a developer, just someone who wants
to use and test the great software, you folks write in your precious time.
Thank you for that.

Regards Lorenz

typing x^2 followed by f'(x) yields to the following lines on the console

but on the oter hand integrating x^2 does work. does this look like a geogebra
bug or more like a mathpiper bug?

Thank you for your effort

I installed the package ltsp-server-standalone in wheezy and am using

extract the output of the clients booting but do not really know, what the
lines mean or if it is maybe an nbd-error.

Bug#619200: [polkit-kde-1] Same symptomes here

2011-04-23 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: polkit-kde-1
Version: 0.95.1-2+b1

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

The command

# grep polkit-kde-1 /var/log/*

just leeds to

/var/log/popularity-contest:1303366696 1285821398 polkit-kde-1
/usr/lib/kde4/libexec/polkit-kde-authentication-agent-1
/var/log/popularity-contest.0:1302498606 1285821398 polkit-kde-1
/usr/lib/kde4/libexec/polkit-kde-authentication-agent-1

nothing about a crash. I will try to report directly upon the next crash.

P.S.: This is my third bugreport and i have a question: why are my package
information fields empty? According to aptitude there should be some
dependencies.

till then

Bug#623257: [bluedevil] bluedevil says no adapters found after kernel update 2.6.32 - 2.6.38

2011-04-18 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: bluedevil
Version: 1.0.3-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

bluetooth in general is still working after kernel update, according to

$ hcitool scan
Scanning ...
00:17:AB:39:B8:52 Nintendo RVL-CNT-01

but bluedevil says no adapters found. I think there is allready a fix out
there, please have a look at

https://projects.kde.org/projects/playground/libs/libbluedevil/repository/revisions/46aa4697e5d2cbba4d20ff4b431c7747884c2fcd

but it would have be packaged for debian, am i right (me - no developer)?
please do so

kind regards
Lorenzo

Bug#513703: italc-client: strange behaviour of ica - createkeypair

2009-01-31 Thread Lorenz Wenner
Package: italc-client
Version: 1:1.0.9~rc3-1
Severity: normal

when I did ica -createkeypair as root, the files

/etc/italc/keys/private/teacher/public/key
/etc/italc/keys/private/teacher/private/key

were generated as expected. but they have a very strange property.
on the first glance everthing seemed normal, as shown below

/etc/italc/keys$ ls -lR *
private:
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 31. Jan 13:29 teacher
private/teacher:
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 668 31. Jan 13:29 key
public:
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 31. Jan 13:29 teacher
public/teacher:
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 594 31. Jan 13:29 key

but when i do
[ls|less|...] [private|public]/[teacher|...]/tab
the option is key. Ok so far nothing to worry about. But another tab gives
key ptab
public/ private/

so there is a kind of a loop. This behaviour does not only appear with
$PWD=.../teacher, but with every pwd i tried. I could
generate the following line only by hitting tab repeatedly
/teacher$ ls key key key key ...

though this is something i have never seen before and i cannot explain it to
me, it does not shrink the usability of the program, as
far as I can estimate it until know.

So far, thanks for this great tool
Lorenz Wenner
