Bug#866399: prometheus-node-exporter systemd unit not enabled by default
Package: prometheus-node-exporter Version: 0.13.0+ds-1 The prometheus-node-exporter debian package does not seem to enable the systemd unit by default. When prometheus-node-exporter is installed the first time it starts just fine, but then it does not restart upon a reboot because its systemd unit is not enabled. Could you please enable the systemd when the package is installed? dh-systemd should already do this for you by default. Thank you, Luca
Bug#837756: prometheus-alertmanager: Please provide prometheus-alertmanager-dev
Package: prometheus-alertmanager Severity: wishlist prometheus-alertmanager can be configured send alerts to a generic webhook receiver: https://prometheus.io/docs/alerting/configuration/#webhook-receiver- To unmarshal the JSON message, a webhook receiver implemented in Go should (re)use the WebhookMessage structure defined in the github.com/prometheus/alertmanager/notify package. The prometheus-alertmanager debian source package should provide a prometheus-alertmanager-dev package, so a webhook receiver in Go can be packaged for debian without having to do vendoring of prometheus-alertmanager. Please create prometheus-alertmanager-dev . See https://github.com/prometheus/alertmanager/issues/505 for more details.
Bug#748293: O: frei0r
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Hi all, I no longer have the time to maintain the frei0r video effects plugins ( https://packages.debian.org/source/sid/frei0r ). A while ago the Debian Multimedia Maintainers team asked me if it was ok for them to step up in the package maintenace. I replied to them saying that I was more than happy if they did, but as of today the package is still in an abandoned state. The frei0r developers contacted me privately asking me some help in unblocking frei0r's package state as the upstream is way ahead of the latest packaged version. I don't have time to dedicate to the package so the only reasonable thing that I can do is to orphan the package, hoping that someone will pick it up. Here is a small patch to configure.ac (and control file) to remove the need for a xulrunner-dev build dependency. Are you sure this patch works also for other distros/oses (gentoo/fedora/freebsd)? Last time I checked (xulrunner 1.9.0) it didn't work because FreeJ was looking for some includes which in debian are found in /usr/include/mozjs (copied there when the binary package is built), but in other distributions are in /usr/include/xulrunner-1.9/unstable (the make install official path). From a quick check to xulrunner 1.9.1 source package it seems like the situation didn't change because debian/rules still contains the following lines: cp -Lr dist/include/js debian/tmp/usr/include/mozjs find debian/tmp/usr/include/mozjs -type f -printf %P\\n | while read f; do \ file=$$(echo debian/tmp/usr/include/xulrunner-$(BASE_VERSION)/*/$$f); \ rm $$file; \ ln -s /usr/include/mozjs/$$(basename $$f) $$file; \ done Can you explain me why xulrunner upstream has not been patched to reflect these copies? On the other hand ia64 is a totaly different instruction set that's not compitible with i386 at all. It is probably fixed in upstream git, developers don't have an ia64 machine to test it though. Bug#482045: spidermonkey-bin: incorrect version
On Tue, May 20, 2008 at 08:33 PM, Mike Hommey wrote: It's the javascript version, the package version is unrelated. This is the point: I think it's a bit strange to have a spidermonkey-bin package version 1.8.0 which contains spidermonkey 1.6 and a package version 1.8.1 which contains spidermonkey 1.7.. Every tarball you download through spidermonkey page has a version aligned with javascript version it contains. We're used to see python 2.5.2 containing python 2.5.2, not 2.4.x.. I know this is an annoying thing but people might be confused looking at package version number (it happens, e.g. I recently had a discussion with some develpers confused by this weird situation we have). If you have any idea where this could be documented more sanely I'm open for suggestions. IMHO that is the good place. Once there will be the wordnet-grind package I think the problem won't persist. Well, so your suggestion would be: Add a binary package grind out of the current Debian source tarball which contains /usr/bin/grind and /usr/share/man/man1/grind.1 ? I think this can be easily done and would not really do any harm. Yes, that's good. My concern was just about the huge database source. Possibly you can leave it out of grind package and add a script to fetch it directly from upstream. If you acknowledge that this would fully close the issue of the bug I'll go for it in the next couple of days. Perfect. On Thu, Oct 20, 2005 at 01:24 PM, Sven Luther wrote: I pinged benh, but he is busy fixing some ppc SMP issue right now, so didn't put much attention. I still feel that this should be more related to the INPUT folk than the powerpc side though. I'll try with input mailing list. Generally, having people on lkml and such ignore patches is something which makes me reconsider the only upstream patches policy :) Well, it's not up to me to decide, but i think the current policy is good. Maybe you can provide a pkg like linux-debian-patches-nonmainstream-X.Y.Z (and respective image/source/headers/whatever packages) as an alternative to the official kernel. This should be good enought for people that cannot appreciate the beauty of a distribution with vanilla kernels. luca -- Beware of programmers who carry screwdrivers. -- Leonard Brandwein http://shammash.homelinux.org/ - http://www.artha.org/shammash/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
