Bug#486302: deluge-torrent: tray icon patch, package renaming and generally stupid 'fixes'
Package: deluge-torrent Version: 0.5.9.1 Severity: important a user today pointed out to me that debian's deluge tray icon looks retarded. when i looked into the matter, i saw that for some reason you patch deluge's tray icon code to look for deluge-torrent instead of deluge. why? debian does not have any other package that has 'deluge' in its name. what could possibly be accomplished by this? further inspection showed that you also replace our desktop file. again, WHY? if that wasnt enough, you replace our quality png and svg icons with an XPM icon. WHAT? i wish that was it, but it gets worse. your debian/rules file also includes a useless sed commands to remove shebangs which *are not there* to begin with. you're making our upstream job much harder with things that just make no sense. please fix your packages!! -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-rc6-git2 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. The problem was introduced into the kernel with version 2.6.20.4 by the now-notorious adjust legacy IDE resource setting (v2) patch. The fix, applied by Linus, was simply to revert the patch. Bug#419979: linux-image-2.6.20-1-amd64: wont boot, locks up box (2.6.18-4-amd64 works flawlessly)
Package: linux-image-2.6.20-1-amd64 Version: 2.6.20-2 Severity: important While booting, the kernel locks up hard. 2.6.18-4-amd64 boots up just fine. 2.6.20-1-amd64 only boots up with acpi=off being added to the kernel line. Note that 2.6.18-4-amd64 works perfectly with acpi being on, which is really the only way I can run this box because with acpi=off it overheats and freezes. Please let me know if there's anything else that I could do to help with this. Thanks! Here's what's on the screen when it happens: Brought up 2 CPUs testing NMI watchdog ... OK. Bug#414638: clarification
just to make sure things are clear, the /etc/fstab contents that i posted had been altered by me after the install so that i could boot into the system properly. it initially did not have /tmp as ext2, but ext3, and thus errored out. also, am i alone in thinking this should probably be an rc bug? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. that patch that was mentioned is kind of irrelevent because nvidia-kernel-source uses 7676, not 7174, which is what the patch was made for.
