Unless this new version (72) is a bug fix only, it won't be accepted
for lenny since the full freeze is in effect. These new upstream
version reports will have to be postponed until lenny is released.

It would be good to backport bug fixes of severity important or
higher. These are meeting the requirements for a freeze exception.

 Thanks

Bug#486302: deluge-torrent: tray icon patch, package renaming and generally stupid 'fixes'

2008-06-14 Thread Marcos Pinto
Package: deluge-torrent
Version: 0.5.9.1
Severity: important

a user today pointed out to me that debian's deluge tray icon looks retarded.
when i looked into the matter, i saw that for some reason you patch deluge's
tray icon code to look for deluge-torrent instead of deluge. why? debian does
not have any other package that has 'deluge' in its name. what could possibly
be accomplished by this? further inspection showed that you also replace our
desktop file. again, WHY? if that wasnt enough, you replace our quality png
and svg icons with an XPM icon. WHAT? i wish that was it, but it gets worse.
your debian/rules file also includes a useless sed commands to remove
shebangs which *are not there* to begin with. you're making our upstream job
much harder with things that just make no sense. please fix your packages!!

Bug#431492: libboost-dev: BOOST_ROOT is not set

2007-07-02 Thread Marcos Pinto
Package: libboost-dev
Version: 1.34.0-1
Severity: important

BOOST_ROOT is not set, making it very difficult to use bjam to build anything
that relies on libboost. I still haven't
successfull figured out what BOOST_ROOT would be on a Debian install.

Bug#419978: upstream solution

2007-04-24 Thread Marcos Pinto

This bug has been fixed in upstream as of 2.6.21-rc7-git7
(http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commit;h=32bd33e21eeab63e7265bb3cba9ed94ab1ab816e).
The problem was introduced into the kernel with version 2.6.20.4 by
the now-notorious adjust legacy IDE resource setting (v2) patch.
The fix, applied by Linus, was simply to revert the patch. Hopefully
the Debian kernel guys can revert this single patch to close this bug?

Bug#419979: linux-image-2.6.20-1-amd64: wont boot, locks up box (2.6.18-4-amd64 works flawlessly)

2007-04-19 Thread Marcos Pinto

Package: linux-image-2.6.20-1-amd64
Version: 2.6.20-2
Severity: important

While booting, the kernel locks up hard. 2.6.18-4-amd64 boots up just
fine. 2.6.20-1-amd64 only boots up with acpi=off being added to the
kernel line. Note that 2.6.18-4-amd64 works perfectly with acpi being
on, which is really the only way I can run this box because with
acpi=off it overheats and freezes. Please let me know if there's
anything else that I could do to help with this.
Thanks!

Bug#414638: clarification

2007-03-26 Thread Marcos Pinto

just to make sure things are clear, the /etc/fstab contents that i
posted had been altered by me after the install so that i could boot
into the system properly. it initially did not have /tmp as ext2,
but ext3, and thus errored out. also, am i alone in thinking this
should probably be an rc bug?

Bug#364382: no update?

2006-05-23 Thread Marcos Pinto

i don't understand why this bug hasnt been closed yet with the
previously submitted patch. quite a few different programs are in
limbo because xmlsec1 has not been updated. please, get this going so
the other developers may move on

Bug#349940: ssh: does not obey /etc/hosts.deny

2006-01-26 Thread Marcos Pinto
hosts.allow has ALL: *
I want everyone to have access except for those in hosts.deny. Is
that not the proper way?

I have a sarge box (fully updated as of 2 days ago) running the same
version of ssh, and it honours the /etc/hosts.deny settings. Do you
 have any entries in /etc/hosts.allow?

Bug#349940: ssh: does not obey /etc/hosts.deny

2006-01-25 Thread Marcos Pinto
Package: ssh
Severity: serious
Justification: unkown

i have various machines listed in /etc/hosts.deny in this format:
ALL: x.x.x.x
where x.x.x.x = ip
however, sshd still allows those ips to login, when it should not.

With what versions of ssh do you experience this problem?

Bug#341056: broken dependency in sid

2005-11-27 Thread Marcos Pinto
Package: openoffice.org-writer
Version: 2.0.0-2
Severity: critical
Justification: uninstallable

openoffice.org-writer depends on libwpd8c2 to install, which is no
longer in sid. it should instead depend on libwpd8c2a

Bug#338020: that patch

2005-11-26 Thread Marcos Pinto
that patch that was mentioned is kind of irrelevent because
nvidia-kernel-source uses 7676, not 7174, which is what the patch was
made for.

Bug#306995: as a sidenote

2005-04-30 Thread Marcos Pinto
yes, i'm sure. my bug report listed it:
Package: tomcat4

sets the environment in .bashrc and .profile

Bug#306995: tomcat4: wrong environment $CATALINA_HOME set

2005-04-29 Thread Marcos Pinto
Package: tomcat4
Version: 4.1.31-3
Severity: important

after installation, $CATALINA_HOME is set to /var/lib/tomcat, which
doesnt exist. the installler either needs to make $CATALINA_HOME be
/var/lib/tomcat4, or create a symlink.

obviously this also affects $TOMCAT_HOME, since they point to each other.
