Bug#780193: RFA: syrep -- A generic file repository synchronization tool
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Due to lack of time and not using this package anymore, I'm no longer interested in maintaining this package I request an adopter for the package. Package description: A generic file repository synchronization tool syrep is a generic file repository synchronization tool. It may be used to synchronize large file hierarchies bidirectionally by exchanging patch files. Syrep is truely peer-to-peer, no central servers are involved. Synchronizations between more than two repositories are supported. The patch files may be transferred via offline media, e.g. removable hard disks or compact discs. . Files are tracked by their message digests, currently MD5. The following file operations are tracked in the snapshot files: creation, deletion, modification, creation of new hard or symbolic links, renaming. (The latter is nothing more than a new hard link and removal of the old file). syrep doesn't distinguish between soft and hard links. In fact even copies of files are treated as the same. Currently, syrep doesn't synchronize file attributes like access modes or modification times. . Syrep was written to facilitate the synchronization of two large digital music repositories without direct network connection. Patch files of several gigabytes are common in this situation. . Syrep is able to cope with 64 bit file sizes. (LFS) . Syrep is optimized for speed. It may make use of a message digest cache to accelerate the calculation of digests of a whole directory hierarchy Thanks and best regards Marvin Stark -- .`. Bug#437932: mini-httpd: CGI output to stderr is transmitted to the client
Tags: confirmed, upstream thanks Hi, thanks for that information. I contacted upstream about this problem. Regards, Package: mini-httpd Version: 1.19-3 Severity: normal Hello, When running CGI scripts, mini-httpd sends their error output to the client. It could be handy for a CGI developper to have its error included in the generated page, but on the other hand, this can cause problems with some CGI scripts. For instance, in some cases, ikiwiki outputs an error message containing a blank line before it sends its headers to stdout, which confuses the client. (see http://ikiwiki.info/bugs/CGI_problem_with_some_webservers/) Maybe mini-httpd can redirect script error output to /dev/null by default, rather than sending it to the client, in order to avoid such problems? -- Jeremie Koenig [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- .`. Bug#376599: ITP: mini-httpd - small HTTP server
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist mini_httpd is a small HTTP server. Its performance is not great, but for low or medium traffic sites it's quite adequate. It implements all the basic features of an HTTP server, including: * GET, HEAD, and POST methods. * CGI. * Basic authentication. * Security against .. filename snooping. * The common MIME types. * Trailing-slash redirection. * index.html, index.htm, index.cgi * Directory listings. * Multihoming / virtual hosting. * Standard logging. * Custom error pages. It can also be configured to do SSL/HTTPS and IPv6. mini_httpd was written for a couple reasons. One, as an experiment to see just how slow an old-fashioned forking web server would be with today's operating systems. The answer is, surprisingly, not that slow - on FreeBSD 3.2, mini_httpd benchmarks at about 90% the speed of Apache. The other main reason for writing mini_httpd was to get a simple platform for experimenting with new web server technology, for instance SSL. - I'm going to build this package. Regards, -- .`. Bug#217333: oopadmin: Cannot import printers or save them
OK, you've got some minor annoying problems with oopadmin. Start off with a new computer with no openoffice previously installed. As a normal user, start oopadmin. - Attempting to import a new printer type seems to work, but the printer does not appear in the list of printer types. - After creating the printers and clicking close if you start oopadmin the printers are no longer there. Root can add new printer types. The same here, but no one can add printers doesn't matter if root or user. Package: openoffice.org Version: 1.1.4-7 -- .`. Bug#220731: openoffice.org: (Writer) Pressing Tab in Save As dialog saves immediately
When I press Tab in Save As dialog in the file name box, my file is saved immediately without asking. This is how I can reproduce this behavior: 1. start OpenOffice.org Writer 2. write something 3. File/Save As 4. write filename 5. Press Tab. Sometimes nothing happens (cursor doesn't move at all), sometimes the file is saved immediately and the dialog is closed. If nothing happens in #5, modify the filename and press tab again. Adding space in the end of the filename seems to work every time.
