Bug#639576: xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver stops with FATAL: Module fbcon not found
Hi Julien, thanks for your swift answer. I frequently doing a dist-upgrade. Usually it goes without problems or am able to solve the problems myself (it is testing). When I remember correctly it stopped working after a dist-upgrade about two weeks ago and I also removed some old kernels from my computer (up to 2.3.36). I did use the newer kernels (3.0 and 2.39) for a while before. X is started through xdm. When I log in now, the screen goes black and the login screen appears a few seconds later. While trying to relsove the problem, I started the server with the comand X. The screen goes black also and nothing happens anymore. I can switch back to the console using SRRG+ALT+F1 and see the output of the X command (I attach it to this mail). Kind regards Mathias Whatever problem you have is unrelated to the fbcon message (which is expected and not an issue). What did you upgrade when it stopped working? Bug#363569: Are NMUs of libvformat OK with you?
Hallo , go for it. I put up the package for adoption a while ago and completely orphaned it right now. Regards Mathias On Thu, Sep 10, 2009 at 10:45:25AM -0300, Rog?rio Brito wrote: Hi. As Henrik pointed out, lbdb is a very useful program for MUAs like Mutt (but not only for them) and keeping libvformat tidy shouldn't be much of a problem. Are you OK with a one-off NMU to get libvformat addressing some of the bugs in the BTS? I'm willing to do a QA upload, if you're OK with orphaning the package. Bug#336326: libvformat1-dev: vf_iface.h redefines uint32_t from stdint.h
Hi, thanks for the report, On Sat, Oct 29, 2005 at 04:25:38PM +0200, Roland Rosenfeld wrote: As you can see, the problem is, that stdint.h is included before vf_iface.h but both of them have a different typedef for uint32_t. The one in vf_iface.h is guarded: #if defined(USE_INTTYPES_H) #include inttypes.h #else typedef unsigned char uint8_t; typedef unsigned short int uint16_t; typedef unsigned long int uint32_t; #endif but as you can see in the above autoconf test C code, only HAVE_INTTYPES_H is defined but not USE_INTTYPES_H, so uint32_t is defined again in vf_iface.h, which causes the trouble. This bug has always been a nuisance... I would suggest you gard the definition of uint32_t with: #if defined(__uint32_t_defined) #typedef unsigned long int uint32_t #endif This should do for the moment. I am preaparing a new release, where I will take care of this bug. Mathias -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
