Bug#352285: can't import photo if f-spot already running

2006-02-10 Thread Matt Price
Package: f-spot
Version: 0.1.8-1
Severity: minor

I'd like to integrate f-spot into my various mail programs (mutt,
evolution) as an image viewer. My htought is that: f-spot --import %s
ought to open an 'import' window. This is the default behaviour when
f-spot is not running and %s is a directory. If f-spot IS running,
though, a dialog box just opens up asking for a folder location. And
of course, I don't usually know what folder mutt or evolution is
storing the attachment in.

Perhaps this should be an upstream bug.

Bug#326091: openoffice.org2-writer: crash at opening a ms-word document without true java.

I try to open a ms-word document with both oofice2 and oowriter2.
Both crashes at importing the document.
The software say 2 lines on stderr or stdout:
javaldx: Could not find a Java Runtime Environment!
sh: crash_report: command not found

Note that I have a gnu java installed.

have you checked to see that your jre is registered (in tools --
options -- openoffice.org -- java)? If not, try add and restart OOo.

I'm not a developer though...

Bug#312721: wordpress: more mysql problems

2005-06-30 Thread Matt Price
I experienced similar problems with mysql -- that is:

1 -- php couldn't find them ysql moldule despite the facct that
phpo4-mysq2l was installed. The fix suggested by the OP worked for me
too.

2) I simply can't get wordpress to open the database. I ran
setup-mysql several times unsuccessfully, and tried changing $NAME and
$DB_PASSWD
just in case I'd screwed things up in earlier runs. The script can
create the databases but of course no tables show up. Then when I
visit the URL (set up as per apache.conf) I get the Error
establishing a database connection message. I've verified that the
new user can in fact log in to mysql from localhost and has the power
to creaete tables. Not sure where the problem lies, would greatly
appreciate some help...

Bug#305355: mozilla-firefox: cpu usage skyrockets on certain pages

2005-04-19 Thread Matt Price
Package: mozilla-firefox
Version: 1.0.3-1
Severity: important

On loading certain pages, cpu usage skyrockets and firefox usually has
to be killed. I can reproduce reliably with
http://www.linuxinsider.com/story/42086.html and other pages from the
same site (loading more than one such page in sep. tabs has a dramatic
effect). May have something to do with #288945 but can't be sure
as the nytimes web page referred to in that mail has changed to an archival
link. I do occasionally have difficulty with nytimes though... Don't
currently have flash plugins or gcjwebplugin installed.

Bug#284579: confirmed on xfce4

2005-02-01 Thread Matt Price
hi folks,

Just want to confirm that I have this problem aswell, using
openoffice.org1.1.3-4 and cupsys 1.1.23-*, under xfce4. Under kde and
icewm I think the connection to cups is still functional -- but I can't
be sure, as another bug renders all the menus unreadable when
OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP isn't set to gnome (this is #241529).

Note that, even in icewm/kde, when OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome is set, cups
printers are not displayed -- so maybe that helps folks in tracking down
the bug location?
