Bug#818905: Steam Controller is not correctly detected

2018-06-12 Thread Michael Pobega
On May 2nd Valve created a Github repository[0] for the steam-devices
udev rules which is MIT licensed. Unless I'm misunderstanding I
believe this means we can make any modifications we want to these udev
rules now, so this bug should be easily resolvable

The bug still exists in this version; Sorry it took me so long to reply, I've
been a bit busy. But yes, the bug _does_ still exist.

Weird, I seemed to have fixed the problem. It seems that when you turn off any
previously existing hardware (I had my ethernet card turned off for power
saving), wicd is unable to pick this up and still tries to get it's state.
Perhaps I should report this as an upstream bug?

Bug#521858: Package should not rely on new Clive

2009-03-30 Thread Michael Pobega
Package: epiphany-extensions-more
Severity: important

epiphany-extensions-more should not depend on Clive 2.1.6-1

I've actually found that 2.1.6-1 is not as good as Clive/stable
(0.4.18-1) as it refuses to work with tsocks, and downloads in flv
format (which I generally have trouble playing).

Clive 2.1.6-1 ALSO refused to work alongside epiphany-extensions-more's
video downloaded, whereas 0.4.18-1 works flawlessly.

Please cc me in responses, as I'm still not sure how the debian-bug list
generally works.

Oh yes, I did, and recovering the old initramfs makes the wireless work,
then aptly installing cryptsetup destroys it. The wireless works until I
switch it off with Fn+F2, and at that point it is just impossible to
turn back on.

The hotkey is just set to load/unload modules as far as I know, so if it
is a problem wit HAL then yeah, loading modules would be borked too. At
least these specific modules (ath_pci)

I think the problem lies in HAL. When I keep the device activated it
works fine, but if I use my hotkey (Fn+F2) the device refuses to reload,
dmesg reports that the device didn't respond properly and couldn't be
loaded.

I feel that I put this bug in the wrong place, I'll bring it up with
madwifi when I get the chance, I'm sorry for wasting your time.

2008-10-22 Thread Michael Pobega
Package: cryptsetup
Version: 2:1.0.6-6
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software

When I installed cryptsetup on my Eee PC (using debian-eeepc and the
madwifi drivers) and rebooted, my wireless would not work. dmesg | tail
would just say "Wireless off" everytime I turned it back on with Fn+2.
After recovering /boot/initrd-`uname -r`.bak the wireless works again.

I'm not exactly sure what about it killed it, but whatever cryptsetup
appended to my initrd killed my wireless.

Bug#338550: firestarter: Broken remove; Again

2007-03-28 Thread Michael Pobega
Package: firestarter
Version: 1.0.3-1.3
Followup-For: Bug #338550

It seems that the Etch package for Firestart is indeed broken, because
it happened to me on my system. I just apt-pinned it from unstable
into testing, and purged it, and it purged firestarter from my system
fine.

I had only installed it once, but I never got it to purge right. After
my biweekly cleaning of cruft packages I decided to just report a bug
on it, and it seems this bug was already reported (And, to an extent,
solved). But I just thought I'd throw my two cents in there for anyone
else having the same problem as I did on Debian Etch.

I know Galeon doesn't say that it directly depends on them, but try
installing it on a system where GNOME isn't installed. I know it's a
GNOME browser but so is Epiphany (Officially, too), and Epiphany has
1/20th the amount of dependencies to download.

Bug#416070: Galeon: Too many depends

Galeon depends on too many programs, including Nautilus and
Gnome-Session. After purging a few of the unneeded dependencies off of

especially for someone on dial-up or DSL.
