Bug#966135: mpv: Unusable when playing from CIFS share

2020-07-23 Thread Mika Tiainen
Package: mpv
Version: 0.32.0-2
Severity: normal
Tags: fixed-upstream

Hi,

Current MPV release has issue that causes very slow read speed from CIFS
mounted share, video freezes every few seconds when cache runs out. This is
already fixed upstream:

https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/commit/20eead18130fd460d8e9eff50ce14afd3646faab

Can the fix be pulled to Debian, while waiting for a new upstream release?

2014-08-19 Thread Mika Tiainen
Package: shibboleth-sp2-utils

Hi,

Installing libapache2-mod-shib2 from wheezy backports. shibboleth-sp2-utils
postinst fails on initial installation, because it tries to enable the apache
module, but libapache2-mod-shib2 is not yet configured so
/etc/apache2/mods-available/ contains only shib2.load.dpkg-new.

Attached is a log of the install.

Bug#436339: vlc: should recommend xdg-utils

2010-10-24 Thread Mika Tiainen
Package: vlc
Version: 1.1.3-1
Severity: normal

VLC relies on xdg-screensaver (found in xdg-utils package) for controlling the
screensaver, without it screensaver is not disabled.

See http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/4272#comment:1 for upstream comment.

This should then be a suggests only, I believe: vlc works fine without
 it.

Depends on your definition of fine. Disable screensaver option is
enabled by default, but without xdg-screensaver it just silently fails
to work.

Bug#559902: ferm: Conditional rules based on current domain inside domain (ip ip6)

2009-12-07 Thread Mika Tiainen
Package: ferm
Version: 2.0.6-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

I have mostly identical ruleset for v4 and v6, but need a few v6 specific
rules. Currently this requires closing the whole domain block and doing
domain (ip6) { foo } in the middle and again domain (ip ip6) { ... }.

It would be great to be able to do something like @if $DOMAIN_IP6 { rule }
for these few domain specific rules.

Bug#522136: SEGV at startup

2009-04-12 Thread Mika Tiainen

severity 522136 important
tags 522136 patch
thanks

Raising severity as this completely breaks HAL on affected machines.

Attached is a patch against 0.5.12~git20090406.46dc48-1 that fixes the
segfault for me.

hal_device_property_get_string (parent, storage.drive_type) returns
NULL for these partitioned md-devices, which is passed to strcmp() and
causes the segfault.

NOTE: I don't know whether the actual bug is that parent points to the
wrong place, but this atleast gets HAL working again.

There are already similar reports in Ubuntu and upstream bugzilla:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hal/+bug/353396

Everytime I upgrade dovecot it generates a new SSL-certificate, and after the

Couldn't the certificate generation only get done on initial installation and

 - Since the package has not been orphaned, you don't have the

OK

 - You don't mention any other technical problems with the package that make
it unsuitable for release, just that it's old.

Well not just that it is old, but that it is a old alpha release not
recommended for casual users:

Maybe there should just be a warning in the package description then.

Looking at the bug reports there's mention of a possible security
problem in http://bugs.debian.org/415562. Someone should atleast look
into that, I think it might refer to this:

Given that you've expressed interest in gnus, I think you would be
the ideal person to investigate this bug and discuss with the
security team what the correct severity of this bug should be. In
 general, the severity definitions at
 http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer#severities apply.

Thijs Kinkhorst has just asked the submitter for more information. It
doesn't appear to be the issue mentioned in the gmane URL, that seems
to have only concerned the stable branch.

This package is useful for emacs21 users, as it's considerably newer
than what was included in emacs21. I agree that it's not useful for
emacs22 users (and indeed isn't installable if you only have emacs22
installed) since the version that is included in emacs22 is newer.

Emacs 22 doesn't have a newer version, it has version based on the
latest stable Gnus (Oort) released in 2003, there is no stable version
of No Gnus. Xemacs 21 also has Oort Gnus.

Gnus versioning has been explained on another bug:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=432143#42

I would also like to keep the separate No Gnus package, atleast in
unstable, but if it stays it should have an active maintainer. It's
not very useful to report bugs against a two year old development
snapshot.

Bug#466013: bluez-utils: Must reload dbus in postinst

2008-02-15 Thread Mika Tiainen
Package: bluez-utils
Version: 3.24-1+b1
Severity: important

I just installed bluez-utils and spent a few hours wondering what this meant:

Feb 15 23:48:36 divinity hcid[31317]: Could not become the primary owner of
org.bluez
Feb 15 23:48:36 divinity hcid[31317]: Unable to get on D-Bus

bluez-utils needs to reload dbus in postinst so it can load
/etc/dbus-1/system.d/bluetooth.conf and know anything about org.bluez.

Hal for example does this in postinst for configure:

if [ -x /etc/init.d/dbus ]; then
  invoke-rc.d dbus force-reload || true

Bug#376982: netpbm belong to suggests

Well, I did this because it was really needed to get it to work, the
rest of the hacks doesn't use the `Suggests' by default like
fortunes by example, it's only used if you change the configuration.

But, netpbm is needed by default by this hacks without any
modification to the settings, that's why I moved to the `Depends'
 field.

As Jamie said it's not enabled by default:

,
| [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ /usr/lib/xscreensaver/vidwhacker
| vidwhacker: no imageDirectory set in /home/mika/.xscreensaver
`

It also uses djpeg and is perl, so libjpeg-progs and perl would need
to be made dependencies as well...

Bug#376982: netpbm belong to suggests

2007-07-30 Thread Mika Tiainen

This bug didn't ask for netpbm to be made a hard dependency, it is
only used by some hacks so it belongs to Recommends or Suggests.

+ Moved `netpbm' to Depends from Suggests of xscreensaver since it's used by
 packages on `xscreensaver'. (Closes: #376982)

Based on this you would have to move everything from Recommends and
Suggests to Depends, they are all packages that are used by certain
hacks in xscreensaver.
