2022-04-29 Thread Nick Taylor
Package: apt
Version: 2.2.4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
My postinstall fails to find a called script in /usr/local/sbin

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

Test using dpkg directly - note PATH shown in DEBUG line:

Bug#923425: Chase gives incorrect file path

2019-02-27 Thread Nick Taylor

Package: chase
Version: 0.5.2

When the link is in a different folder than the target file, the
resultant path to the target file given by chase turns out to be incorrect.
Here is a transcript:

In this example, the files are located in the folder
/media/MyBook/Hostshare/GIFS
The links are located in the folder /media/MyBook/Hostshare/GIFS

cd /media/MyBook/Hostshare/GIFS/GIFLINKS
/media/MyBook/Hostshare/GIFS/GIFLINKS$ chase achtagDu6Blo
chase: /media/MyBook/Hostshare/GIFS/GIFLINKS/IJa7b9jy.gif: No such file or
directory

The filename IJa7b9jy.gif does exist in the folder
/media/MyBook/Hostshare/GIFS, but
not in /media/MyBook/Hostshare/GIFS/GIFLINKS
