Bug#839067: shellinabox: Cannot read valid certificate

The issue is that no cert were installed during installation, so shellinabox
could not start. Permissions were correct, or they should be, as the directory
was created by the package.

IF the cert should always be installed by the admin, this should be noted in
the docs, but that is not written in any file on /usr/share/doc/shellinabox so
any admin will assume the server should "just start", as any other server like
sshd or apache does.

Jessie is not the entire universe. Please allow me point that Wheezy is in LTS
until May 2018, which has the same shellinabox version as Jessie.

I'd be willing to do more testing for you, in clean VMs, if interested.

It seems to me that this is just an error in the versioning of the Depends.

Just installing a more recent libssl resolved this for me.

Hello,

Hi

the bug you reported is a KDE bug. Please report it via
Help - Report bug... menu item of the respective application
or by visiting https://bugs.kde.org/ and following instructions
to report a new bug.

I already did, please check the bug history before requesting so.

I'm also switching the severity to wishlist, as this is a feature that needs
to be implemented (or at least that's what it seems).

It is not. It is a real failure because kde-open checks incorrectly the
url for a hostname, which should not be done, as it seems as explained
in related #701849 .

Debian Qt/KDE maintainers do not have resources to deal with
non Debian-specific bugs and therefore it is unlikely that
your bug will be solved if you do not report it to KDE developers
directly (unless it is/has been reported by somebody else).

I understand that, that's why I sent the bug to KDE myself, and I also
marked it as upstream myself.

Whenever you open a bug report on the KDE bug tracking system, or
you find that the bug has been already reported on it, you can couple
both this Debian bug and the KDE bug together by sending the mail with
the text below to cont...@bugs.debian.org (replace KDE-BUG-URL with
the address of the bug report on https://bugs.kde.org/)

Which IMHO is fully correct. You entered 1/2, this gets corrected to 1/2

01/02/13 is widely used in Spain. 01.02.13 scarcely. This one and 01/II/13 are

Bug#635554: More info

2011-09-09 Thread Noel Torres
I've tested kmail from both Gnome and KDE, and it fails to read the IMAP
root folder on both environments.

I've tested kmail from a completely new user, and it failed too.

I've tested accessing both three from localhost (IMAP and kmail in the
same machine), from local private network address (192.168.1.25, IMAP
and kmail in same machine) and from internet (two lines to internet,
using public addresses, but IMAP and kmail in the same physical machines).

Icedove does not fail, so I suppose the problem is not the IMAP server.

fetch it like C's gcc does with -M, I use the following Makefile rule:

Makefile.dep : *.F95
for j in *.F95 ; do for i in `cat $$j|grep  use |awk '{print $$2}'`;
do echo `basename $$j .F95`.o : $$i.mod ; done ; done $@

It would be great to have this very simple code included in gfortran like the
-M option, to be allowed to change the Makefile to something simpler:

Makefile.dep
for i in *.F95; do gfortran -MM $${i}; done $@

Thanks

Bug#552097: phpbb3: Can't have several forums

2009-10-23 Thread Noel Torres
Package: phpbb3

Severity: important

I've used the 'php_value auto_prepend_file' method in
/etc/apache2/conf.d/phpbb3.conf to change database settings for having more
that one forum. But it does not work since in line 25 of
/usr/share/phpbb3/www/config.php it reads require
'/etc/phpbb3/database.inc.php'; which overwrites the configuration.

PoV-Ray can not use filenames allowed by the standard Debian encoding, UTF-8.
As an example I tried to include a file, which creates a mountain, called

itself works, (povray accepts it as an input file) it is not possible to have
it included:

Bug#506174: gnome: Gnome installs swfdec-mozilla which does not allow iceweasel to work with flashplayer-mozilla

2008-11-18 Thread Noel Torres
Package: gnome
Version: 1:2.22.2~5
Severity: normal

It is impossible to view flash videos with iceweasel using the flash 10 library
provided by flashplayer-mozilla if you have gnome installed, since gnome
depends on swfdec-mozilla which somehow takes precedence.

Please change swfdec-mozilla to a recommend or move this bug to iceweasel
people for them to make that teh browser use flashplayer-mozilla instead of
swfdec-mozilla .

Bug#496080: apache2 ceased to correctly serve foo.html.es files as spanish text/html and changed to serve as text/ecmascript

2008-08-22 Thread Noel Torres
Package: apache2.2-common
Version: 2.2.9-6
Severity: normal

I had a working Apache2 installation up-to-date until yesterday, when I
updated it to 2.2.9-6 .

I used to have an index.html.es and an index.html.en in each directory,
to use mod_negotiation to serve the adequate one. It worked until the
upgrade. Now, all *.html.es files are served as mimetype text/ecmascript
which made them absolutely unusable.

Any ideas?

I expect that reintalling the package will make the problem go away.

Purged and reinstalled from the same DEB file, and it went OK now.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Bug#443089: postfix: Postfix does not start because it lacks a file

2007-09-18 Thread Noel Torres
Package: postfix
Version: 2.3.8-2+b1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

When installing postfix installation fails with this message:

postfix: fatal: /etc/postfix/postfix-script: No such file or directory

Executing /usr/sbin/postfix by hand causes the same message to appear.

Manual page says that that file is called by postfix to do the hard work.

Bug#418499: Bug in installation of apache2

2007-04-10 Thread Noel Torres

Package: apache2.2-common
Version: 2.2.3-4
Severity: grave

Hello all:

Installing the package in a new install (that is, not upgrading it)
leaves a server unable to start.

Line 189 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf references to file /etc/httpd.conf
which does no exist.

Thus, the server does not start:

# apache2ctl start
apache2: Syntax error on line 189 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf: Could
not open configuration file /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: No such file or
directory

#

But it is not clear what happens, since people will usually see this:

# /etc/init.d/apache2 start
#

That is, no error at all. Also in syslog there is no error at all (there
is no info at all).

This can be addressed in two ways:
a) ship an empty httpd.conf or create (touch) it in postinst
b) comment line 189 of apache2.conf, leaving it there for user info

Bug#418536: apache2 can't be removed if stoppped

2007-04-10 Thread Noel Torres

Package: apache2.2-common
Version: 2.2.3-4

Trying to remove apache2-mpm-worker with the server stopped does not work:

Desinstalando apache2-mpm-worker ...
Stopping web server (apache2)... failed!
invoke-rc.d: initscript apache2, action stop failed.
dpkg: error al procesar apache2-mpm-worker (--remove):
el subproceso pre-removal script devolvió el código de salida de error 1
Se encontraron errores al procesar:
 apache2-mpm-worker
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

That forced me to start the server, because I needed it removed anyway.

Solutions: either allow /etc/init.d/apache2 (package apache2.2-common)
to success if there is no apache2 process to stop, or modify pre-removal
script (package apache2-mpm-worker) to work if server is not running. I
think the last would must be done in more packages, like the prefork one.

BTW, congratulations for etch's release :)

Bug#285888: cdrom: Also etch current installer in a Latitude D820

2006-06-28 Thread Noel Torres
Package: cdrom
Followup-For: Bug #285888

I downloaded an etch official snapshot on 25/06/06 and tried to install
to my brand-new Dell Latitude D820.

CD booted and it gave me the installation system, but failed to detect
any cdrom unit. It offered me to load drivers from floppy, which a
Latitude D820 hasn't, and offered me to load modules from a list. I
tried several of them (incuding, of course, module 'cdrom', but none of
which I tried worked.

I'm sending this reportbug from a Knoppix installed to hard disk in the
same laptop. Knoppix install didn't gave me problems (but I hate their
initscripts and still want to install a pure Debian).

Bug#335742: OpenOffice can not write to NFS-mounted places

2005-10-25 Thread Noel Torres
Package: openoffice.org
Version: 2.0.0-1
Severity: important

Maybe related #210581? That one is too old.

I've two twin servers (same hardware, same Debian Sid, same 2.6.13.2
kernel, same OOo, same users _WITH SAME UIDS_, etc). Both of these
servers mount some of its /home directories via NFS from the other one.

That is, user juan has the same uid in both servers, and he sees the
same /home/juan in both servers, with same file uids and permissions in
both servers, although in one server he sees /home/juan is mounted from
/dev/hdXY and in the other server it is mounted from server1:/home/juan

Each user can read, write, modify and delete files undistiguishably in
any server (the only difference is in speed, maybe), with any
application, excepting OpenOffice.org which says I/O Error or Access
Denied when trying to save. Thus, users are unable to use OOo if
tehy're not at the same server their home is exported from.

Bug#318799: does not set up a proper grub when installing in hdb MBR

2005-07-18 Thread Noel Torres
Package: installation
Severity: grave

I installed normally from Sarge DVD 1 in my brand-new hard disk hdb.
Everything seemed OK, and I partitioned my new disk (boot, swap, root,
home and all the others) and selected to install grub in MBR of hdb.

During rebooting, I set up my BIOS to boot from hdb. The computer
booted, and grub showed me a menu with the two new kernel entries
(normal and recover mode) and all my old kernels from hda.

I selected to boot the new kernel, and grub said me that it can not
execute the second instruction kernel because it can not find the
file.

I keystroked e-d-b and my new system booted OK. Simply deleting the
first line root (hd1,0) worked.

Bug#315881: freeciv: Freeciv causes computer to hang

2005-06-26 Thread Noel Torres
Package: freeciv
Version: 2.0.1-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

I've been using the same kernel and the same desktop (Gnome) from
several months ago, with uptimes of several weeks long (and the stops
being caused either by me or by the electrical company). But now, I
experience strange system crashes while playing Freeciv, and they only
happen while playing, and not when otherwise using several hundreds of
differents Sarge programs on Gnome.

Every time I've started to play, I heard (after more or less time of
continuous play) a bunch of harddisk noise, and when I tried to Alt-F1
or to run 'top' or to change directory to save the game or any other
similar (kernel-related) task, it does not work and system becomes unusable
and, thus, it must be hard-rebooted.

Can you please post the specifications of your computer? Arch, processor,
amount of ram, etc. Additionally, what kernel you are using.

AMD K6-3 with 512MiB, running a custom 2.6.9 with no patches and the
nvidia module. I'm with sarge and no strange packages at all (but some
woody packages that disappeared at sarge and I need, related to
graphical design).

Also, running it from a xterm does not show stderr nor stdout abnormal info.

Sounds to me like a faulty disk. Any entries in the syslog saying
anything about IO errors? Which filesystem are you running?

 Regards,
 Thomas Ledet

No harddisk error at all in syslog. ext2 in related partition.

Bug#300939: sawfish: Cant move windows nor change WM

2005-03-22 Thread Noel Torres
Package: sawfish
Version: 1:1.3+cvs20050222-1
Severity: normal

Sometimes (lately, it didn't happen previously) sawfish does not allow
me to move nor close windows, and middle-button click on the desktop
does not work too.
However, the process is running, and sawfish-ui is able to change the
window borders.

Bug#290915: mozilla: latest update broken the XUL and renders package unusable for some tasks

Package: mozilla

The XUL is broken in the new Debian release I've just 'apt-get
dist-upgrade'd to. Examples: the x button for closing tabs has
disappeared, and when trying to download a file, the dialog is
compeltely messed up and pressing enter renders an error window saying:

Bug#290809: xscreensaver-gl: GLKnots crashes my whole X-Window system

2005-01-16 Thread Noel Torres
Package: xscreensaver-gl
Version: 4.16-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

It started when my computer seemed to reset each time I left it working
and alone. Lately I discovered that only the X-Window system is who
crashes. I started selecting one-by-one the hacks, and I found that
almost every time I select glknots, the X-Window system completely
crashed and restarted to GDM login screen start. When testing, I left no
info 'cos no other programs where running in the Desktop, but until I
discovered it I lost a lot of data in open programs each time it
crashed.
