Bug#315053: xfce4-panel: panel not freely movable, overlaps with taskbar

2005-06-20 Thread Oliver M. Bolzer
Package: xfce4-panel
Version: 4.2.2-1
Severity: normal

After upgrading to Xfce 4.2, the panel is no longer freely
movable and the user is forced to choose between top, bottom,
left or right. The panel overlaps the taskbar when both
are set to be either at the top or at the bottom. This is
very inconvenient. I'd like have both on the top of the screen,
the panel just below the taskbar. So please consider

a) allowing the panel to be moved freely
b) watching out for the taskbar, when placing the panel

Thanks a lot for maintaining Xfce4 packages.

Bug#281596: ppracer packages in sid

2005-04-06 Thread Oliver M. Bolzer
Hi!

I've tried the ppracer package on AMD64 and they work great.
As tuxracer is totally dead upstream and ppracer is in my eyes
the proper successor, I'd like to proceed to get the current tuxracer packages
removed from sarge and provide current users a transition path to ppracer.

I need to recheck, but AFAIK the procedure for ppracer to superceed
 tuxracer is

1. Upload a ppracer package with Replace/Conflict: tuxracer
2. Afterwards, upload an empty tuxracer package with Depends: ppracer

How do you feel about proceeding in this direction ? I know the time is
tight to make it into sarge, but it would IMHO definetly benefit our
users to have an upgrade path to an actively maintained game instead of
the famous but totally outdated original tuxracer.

Bug#281596: pp-racer ITPed

2005-01-25 Thread Oliver M. Bolzer
An ITP for pp-racer has been filed (#291796). I've started communicating
with the new package's maintainer to prepare a migration path for
existing tuxracer users, once any initial bugs of the new package have been
shaken off.

Bug#291796: ITP: planetpenguin-racer -- another 3D racing game featuring Tux, the Linux penguin

TuxRacer upstream is dead, dead, dead. I'm really happy that somebody
has picked up development. Somebody has filed a wishlist bug against
tuxracer to replace it with pp-racer (s. #281596). I'm glad that you've
ITPed. Once your package has entered the archive and the initial bugs
have been shaken off, we should think of some migration strategy for
current tuxracer users, like removing tuxracer from the archive and
creating a dummy package that depends on pp-racer.
