Bug#914692: More information
I have been able to build de package by adding a line to the rules file like this override_dh_auto_install: (cd build-static && $(MAKE) install DESTDIR="$(CURDIR)/debian/tmp") (cd build-shared && $(MAKE) install DESTDIR="$(CURDIR)/debian/tmp") install -D $(CURDIR)/bash_completion.d/ldc2 $(CURDIR)/debian/tmp/etc/bash_completion.d/ldc2 and removing --fail-missing in the line override_dh_missing: dh_missing --fail-missing (Yes, I know this is a dirty solution. But confirms that this is the only problem for building the package).I have done this without having ldc installed in my sistem. Hence, the bootstrap is perform at building time.Hope this helps to find the bug.

Bug#589846: gnome-power-manager does not offer the option do nothing when closing a laptop lid
Package: gnome-power-manager Version: 2.30.1-1 Severity: normal The gnome power manager does not offer the option do nothing when closing a laptop lid. This option could be useful when one plugs a external monitor. The problem is described here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1306801 in the Ubuntu forums, and seems that this option was indedd available in previous versions of this software. Thought this option can still be enabled by using the gconf-editor (Navigating to apps--gnome-power-manager--buttons and setting lid_ac and/or lid_battery to nothing (without the quotes), as described in that web page), this is certainly not very user friendly. Bug#546262: kdm crash (due to a bug in libx11-6 o xserver in unstable?)
Yes, it is a reproducible crash. For some strange reason it happens not the first time you log in using kdm, but when you close your session and log in again (after answering your username and password) I know that I'm using an unsupported combination (for several reasons I'm not planning to upgrade to KDE 4 for the moment, therefore I've downgraded my X to stable, but I've build a Debian system in a chroot in order to reproduce the bug) , but as Julien says that doesn't mean that the bug needs not to be investigated, because it may reveal some hidden bug in the new version of X in unstable. I think that the X implementation should reliably run all the programs that use the standard X libraries in the expected way (and I believe that kdm 3.5.x is one of them), even if they are not included in Debian. I will rebuild libx11 without optimisation as requested and send you a full backtrace. Many thanks. Cheers, Pablo On Sat, Sep 12, 2009 at 7:05 AM, Julien Cristau jcris...@debian.org wrote: reopen 546262 kthxbye On Sat, Sep 12, 2009 at 12:34:07 +0300, George Kiagiadakis wrote: 2009/9/12 Pablo De Napoli pden...@gmail.com: I want to report a bug that makes kdm crash, though I believe that the bug is not caused by kdm itself but probably by the xserver in unstable (that have changed the way of handling input devices, in particular the keyboard). [with the xserver-xorg in lenny (version 1.7.20) things work fine, with the version in unstable (1.7.4+4) kdm crashes. Hi, You are using an unsupported combination of packages (KDE 3 from lenny and X 7.4 from unstable). KDE 3 is dead upstream and it is not going to be fixed to support newer versions of libraries and other components of the system, such as X. Since kdm from lenny works fine with X from lenny, this is not a bug that concerns us. To solve this problem, either downgrade X to the version from lenny or upgrade to KDE 4. If the problem persists with KDE 4.3.1 that is now available in testing and unstable, please reopen this bug. WTF. If kdm crashes reproducibly then this should be investigated, and fixed if it's a bug in the X libraries or server. Newer X libs (or newer X server) shouldn't break older software. Only if it's a kdm bug fixed in sid does it sort of make sense to close this. Pablo, can you rebuild libx11 without optimisation and send a full backtrace? Package: kdm Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-6 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable I want to report a bug that makes kdm crash, though I believe that the bug is not caused by kdm itself but probably by the xserver in unstable (that have changed the way of handling input devices, in particular the keyboard). [with the xserver-xorg in lenny (version 1.7.20) things work fine, with the version in unstable (1.7.4+4) kdm crashes. Bug#545244: indeed, a dependency problem
I can confirm the bug and that it is dependency problem. Manually installing the libcups* packages corrected it. Pablo -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
Bug#439817: submitting a patch for fixing this bug (and .dsc / .diff.gz ffiles)
Dear Mantainer: I'm submitting a patch for this bug [file Samsung_ML-2010-bug.dpatch) (taken from upstream subversion with svn diff -r69:70 Changelog entry: r70 | ap2c | 2007-02-10 11:17:26 -0300 (sáb 10 de feb de 2007) | 2 lines changed paths: M /splix/src/spl2.cpp Correct a bug for the ML-2010 printer Also I'm submitting the .dsc and .diff.gz files for rebuilding the Debian packages. (So probably you only need to modify the ChangeLog (replacing my name with yours, etc.) I've tested this with my printer. Please fix this issue for Lenny.. I've applied my patch using dpatch since your rules files includes rules for this. Lintian complains since you have applied patches directly, and the rules file uses a patch system (but this is clearly only a cosmetic issue) best regards Pablo --- a/src/spl2.cpp +++ b/src/spl2.cpp @@ -168,7 +168,8 @@ header[0xd] = _printer-docHeaderValues(1); // ??? Bug#439817: Samsung ML_2010 not working on splix: this is fixed in Ubuntu
Dear Mantainer: splix on Lenny does not work with Samsung_ML-2010 because of this bug.Shouldn't be a release critical bug? (It makes this package - and hence printing- unsable for users of this printer) It has been reported more than a year ago (27/Agust/2007) Please fix it. I've tested splix-1.1.1-0ubuntu1 from Ubuntu hardy, and it worked for me. (To compile it from the sources under Deban Lenny no change is needed, the only needed change is to change the names of the build dependenncies in control file (libcupsys-dev to libcups-dev libcupsimage-dev to libcupsimage2-dev) Morover, the ubuntu changelog says: splix (1.1.1-0ubuntu1) hardy; urgency=low * New upstream release * debian/rules: Suppress build of drivers using the patented JBIG algorithm, [...] wouldn't that be relevant to Debian free software guidelines? best regards Pablo De Napoli -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#499940: labplot: need not to be run in a terminal
Subject: labplot: need not to be run in a terminal Package: labplot Version: 1.6.0.1-6 Severity: minor Tags: patch Labplot needs not to be run in a terminal (under KDE). Bug#264530: LOADLIN is for booting from MS-DOS or old WINDOWS
I strongly support this bug report (this could be really usefull and LOADLIN is included in the tools directory from the CD 1 in Etch) However, the sugested title 5.1.2. Booting from linux using LILO or GRUB or LOADLIN is not correct. (as Loadlin is not for booting from Linux) So a new section 5.1.x should be added with a title like Booting from MS-DOS/Windows 95/ Windows 98/FreeDos using LOADLIN __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam?
