Bug#367964: Font quality still poor with 2.2.1-2
I have tested with 2.2.1-2 and font quality remains the same with OpenOffice.org 2.x. GNOME setting for font quality is for: greyscale, full hinting. It appears in some cases applications are rendering only in medium hinting. Was full hinting enabled in freetype? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#367964: libfreetype6: 2.1.10-3 works ok, 2.2.1-1 uses autohinter?
I have the same problem. Not all applications seem to exhibit this problem, but OpenOffice.org 2.0.2 definitely does. Reverting to 2.1.10-3 from testing also solves the problem for me. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#352003: Another Application
Another application that does not cause gnome-screensaver to recognize activity, therefore spurious activation: VMware. Now, in this case, I was using keyboard only and not mouse, and when I did move the mouse, the screensaver deactivated. Armagetron, keyboard-only. Could this simply be gnome-screensaver not recognizing keyboard activity? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#352170: gnome-screensaver: screensaver won't lock (elapse idle time) during suspend
Package: gnome-screensaver Version: 0.0.24-1 Severity: normal When a notebook with gnome-screensaver is suspended (in my case, with ACPI), the time that elapses during suspend does not seem to be accounted for as idle time. Therefore, when system resumes, system is not locked, even though the requisite amount of time has elapsed. Comparing to xscreensaver, resuming after the requisite amount of idle time results in a locked screensaver. I believe this is the desired behavior, as the alternative is that GNOME must be locked before a suspend to ensure it wakes up locked after idle time. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-1-686 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages gnome-screensaver depends on: ii gconf2 2.12.1-8 GNOME configuration database syste ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libatk1.0-01.10.3-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libaudiofile0 0.2.6-6 Open-source version of SGI's audio ii libavahi-client3 0.6.6-1 Avahi client library ii libavahi-common3 0.6.6-1 Avahi common library ii libavahi-compat-howl0 0.6.6-1 Avahi Howl compatibility library ii libbonobo2-0 2.10.1-1 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libbonoboui2-0 2.10.1-2 The Bonobo UI library ii libc6 2.3.5-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libcairo2 1.0.2-3 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libdbus-1-20.60-5simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.60-5simple interprocess messaging syst ii libesd-alsa0 [libesd0] 0.2.36-3 Enlightened Sound Daemon (ALSA) - ii libexif12 0.6.12-2 library to parse EXIF files ii libfontconfig1 2.3.2-1.1 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.1.10-1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libgamin0 [libfam0]0.1.7-3 Client library for the gamin file ii libgconf2-42.12.1-8 GNOME configuration database syste ii libgcrypt111.2.2-1 LGPL Crypto library - runtime libr ii libglade2-01:2.5.1-2 library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.8.6-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-keyring0 0.4.6-2 GNOME keyring services library ii libgnome-menu2 2.12.0-2.1an implementation of the freedeskt ii libgnome2-02.12.0.1-5The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomecanvas2-0 2.12.0-2 A powerful object-oriented display ii libgnomeui-0 2.12.0-2 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgnomevfs2-0 2.12.2-5 GNOME virtual file-system (runtime ii libgnutls111.0.16-14 GNU TLS library - runtime library ii libgpg-error0 1.1-4 library for common error values an ii libgtk2.0-02.8.10-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice66.9.0.dfsg.1-4Inter-Client Exchange library ii libjpeg62 6b-11 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii liborbit2 1:2.12.4-1libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpam0g 0.79-3.1 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpango1.0-0 1.10.3-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpng12-0 1.2.8rel-5PNG library - runtime ii libpopt0 1.7-5 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libsm6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4X Window System Session Management ii libtasn1-2 0.2.17-1 Manage ASN.1 structures (runtime) ii libx11-6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4X Window System protocol client li ii libxcursor11.1.3-1 X cursor management library ii libxext6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxi6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4X Window System Input extension li ii libxinerama1 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4X Window System multi-head display ii libxml22.6.23.dfsg.1-0.1 GNOME XML library ii libxrandr2 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4X Window System Resize, Rotate and ii libxrender11:0.9.0.2-1 X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxss16.9.0.dfsg.1-4X Screen Saver client-side library ii libxxf86vm16.9.0.dfsg.1-4X Video Mode selection library ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-9 compression library - runtime gnome-screensaver recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject
Bug#352003: when application captures keyboard/mouse, screensaver spuriously activates
Package: gnome-screensaver Version: 0.0.24-1 Severity: normal When running a full-screen keyboard/mouse capturing application (apt-get install armagetron), gnome-screensaver believes the system is idle and activates despite the fact that keys have been depressed nearly constantly to that point. 1. This is not a serious policy issue (severity: serious) but an important bug (severity: important). 2. The problem is a syntax error in the for list, in which the last item contains a backslash when it shouldn't. 3. Bug#316846: evolution-plugins: Please apply patch to fix itip formatter crash bug
Package: evolution-plugins Version: 2.2.2-4 Severity: normal In the upstream bugzilla, there is a bug [1] reported with the itip formatter that crashes Evolution. In that bug report, there is a patch [2] which I have successfully used since April 2005 to fix this bug. Please consider including this patch in the Debian maintained package until it is fixed upstream. Bug#293589: I too confirm
I too confirm this problem. Additional notes: 1. While this bug is serious, I don't think it warrants a severity level of serious. It does not constitute a serious violation of Debian policy (i.e. violate a must or required directive). 2. Since Evolution hasn't changed recently, I doubt that this is an Evolution bug. I tend to believe something else it depends on has changed, and has caused this new problem. 3. CPU goes to near 100% on system when Evolution freezes. 4. It doesn't seem to happen on all of my systems. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
