Bug#394078: kdelibs4c2a: kcmshell does not recognize root password
Subject: kdelibs4c2a: kcmshell does not recognize root password Package: kdelibs4c2a Version: 4:3.5.5a-1 Severity: important *** Please type your report below this line *** After yesterday's and today's update (i.e. I did not observe the problem before), kcmshell (called from kcontrol), after I enter root password, says "Wrong password" and gives me another try. The password is OK. I tried it about 10 times, always with the same result, but switching to root via su is without problems. I also noticed this problem yesterday on another computer - the same distribution, different kernel (although 2.6.17 as well), different packages installed. It happened when I wanted to run k3bsetup from k3b (but running k3bsetup via su was perfectly possible). -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-atm252 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=cs_CZ (charmap=ISO-8859-2) Versions of packages kdelibs4c2a depends on: ii kdelibs-data 4:3.5.5a-1core shared data for all KDE appli ii libacl12.2.41-1 Access control list shared library ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libarts1c2a1.5.5-1 aRts sound system core components ii libasound2 1.0.13-1 ALSA library ii libaspell150.60.4-4 GNU Aspell spell-checker runtime l ii libattr1 2.4.32-1 Extended attribute shared library ii libaudio2 1.8-2 The Network Audio System (NAS). Bug#386023: griffith does not start, probably because of missing gtk module
Package: griffith Version: 0.6.2-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable After starting griffith from command line, I get following output: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ griffith Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/griffith", line 25, in ? import gtk ImportError: No module named gtk As you can see, python-gtk2 is installed. I tried to install python-gtk-1.2, but the problem remained. I also looked at the list of installed modules, available from python help, but gtk was not there.
