You must have misunderstood me. _Don't_ select all modules,
just select
the general ide modules (ide-generic, ide-cd) instead and
check if your
CD drive works then.
The idea is that there may be a module conflict and we need
to find out
what it is.
I did that as well, it didn't work.
In that case, please send us the output of 'lspci' and 'lspci
-n' so we
can see what kind of hardware is in the machine.
The output of 'lsmod' should be usefull as well.

Lsmod isn't going to tell you a lot, I compiled the drivers right into
the kernel.
I'll send a gzipped .config to the BTS, maybe it helps.
