Bug#1029185: fai-client: provide rpm-Package

2023-01-18 Thread Reiner Schulz
Package: fai-client
Version: 5.8.4
Severity: wishlist

Dear Thomas,

please provide a rpm package of fai-client
We hav to maintain a number of RHEL Servers.
Until now we have to make rpm packages of the fai-client
But it not easy as fai-client use some perl modules, which are not available
from any rpm repository.
"File::lchown" is one of them.

Thank you for your great tool,

Reiner

Bug#1000368: fai-setup-storage: Support for more then one class

2021-11-22 Thread Reiner Schulz
Package: fai-setup-storage
Version: 5.10.3~buster1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Thomas,

It should possible to have serveral disk_config files with different
mountpoints in it,
setup-storage should then merge these to one, but dosent save it to the config
space
nested mountpoints should possible

so it could posible to have one disk_config for "the system" and other for
custom filesystem

best wishes

Bug#985771: apt-auto-removal isn't run by kernel update

2021-03-23 Thread Reiner Schulz
Package: apt
Version: 1.8.2.2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

On 5 of our Debian 10 Server the separate /boot Partition filled up with old
kernels
on a few Server without separate /boot partition are up to 10 old kernel left

I check if linux-image\* was marked "manual", there where a few on some Server,
but not on all.

/etc/kernel/postinst.d/apt-auto-removal should remove all old kernels but the
last two

I greped over 23 Debian 10 Server:
ansible DEBIAN_10 -b -m shell -a 'zgrep 'postinst.d' /var/log/apt/term.log* '
>> grep_term.log 2>&1

grep -c -E 'zz-update-grub' grep_term.log
115
grep -c -E 'initramfs-tools' grep_term.log
138
grep -c -E 'apt-auto-removal' grep_term.log
2

i will attach grep_term.log

/etc/kernel/postinst.d/apt-auto-removal isn't run after kernel updates

How can i check why?

At the github upstream project, there is described that one should rotate the
keys from time to time.
this confuses me.
At the github project is no service file, so who build this?

Bug#925590: fai-client: remove "libfile-lchown-perl" dependency from fcopy

2019-03-27 Thread Reiner Schulz
Package: fai-client
Version: 5.3.6
Severity: wishlist

Dear Thomas,

We like to update "fai-client" on our RHEL7 Servers to the latest version,
but since
fai 5.3.5 there is a dependency to "libfile-lchown-perl", which is not
available
   on RHEL7, EPEL or CentOS7.

Functions of "libfile-lchown-perl" are only used two times in fcopy. (line
377 and 379)

Building File::lchown from CPAN and deploy to 400 Servers is not ISO/IEC
27001 like.

Please find another solution and remove lchown from fcopy.

Bug#910083: fai-client: setting romountopt via "Use Default Values ( ${parameter:-word} )"

2018-10-02 Thread Reiner Schulz
Package: fai-server
Version: 5.3.6
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

Please use ${parameter:-word} to export romountopt in /usr/sbin/fai
 for ex:
  export romountopt=${romountopt:-"-o async,noatime,nolock,ro,actimeo=1800"}

we have to patch /usr/sbin/fai to set romountopt to something like
 "-t nfs4 -o port=20549,soft,async,noatime,nolock,ro,actimeo=1800"

We already tried to set it via /etc/fai/fai.conf with
 romountopt="-t nfs4 -o \
  port=20549,soft,async,noatime,nolock,ro,actimeo=1800"
 declare -rx romountopt

but this dosent work
