Description: Unit testing and web testing framework for PHP
SimpleTest is a testing framework built around test case classes.
These are written as extensions of base test case classes, each
extended with methods that actually contain test code.
 .
These tools are designed for the developer. Tests are written in the
PHP language itself. The advantage of using PHP itself as the testing
language is that there are no new languages to learn, testing can
start straight away, and the developer can test any part of the code.
Basically, all parts that can be accessed by the application code can
also be accessed by the test code if they are in the same language.

also work with Sanyo, but this is untested.
 .
The cameras typically come with software for Windows and for Mac, and no
description of the protocol. With this tool, they are manageable from a
UNIX box. Bruce D. Lightner light...@metaflow.com has added support
for Win32 and DOS platforms. Note that the program does not have any
GUI, it is plain command-line even on Windows. For a GUI, check out
 the phototk program.

Hrm… So you fixed two bugs in the packaging by introducing a new upstream
release? And, the diff looks like:

   475 files changed, 134634 insertions(+), 70383 deletions(-)

You can fix them by going through t-p-u if you still want to fix them
(but send a diff for prior approval before uploading).

I wondered what you may possibly be talking about until I saw
that the previous upload to unstable has not already migrated
 to testing. Damn.

I don't really know what is the right thing to do here. The usage
of the current version in Debian has dropped rather dramatically
already, i.e. people use upstream's distribution or move to Ubuntu
that features the newer version already that is unstable since July.

 Rene?

I did not notice this too, I did the last upload to unstable, but we was not on
freeze at that time, so I did not worry to much about it.

This will be hard I guess, get a freeze-exception at this time, but in case if
not
happen we can try to keep the last version on backports.

When coding it is common to come up against problems that need to be

Test::Fixme allows you to add a test file that ensures that none of

  Description : wrapper for File::Find ala find(1)

File::Find is great, but constructing the wanted routine can sometimes be a
pain. File::Finder provides a wanted-writer, using syntax that is directly
mappable to the find command's syntax.
 .
A File::Finder object contains a hash of File::Find options, and a series of
steps that mimic find's predicates. Initially, a File::Finder object has no
steps. Each step method clones the previous object's options and steps, and
then adds the new step, returning the new object. In this manner, an object
can be grown, step by step, by chaining method calls. Furthermore, a partial
sequence can be created and held, and used as the head of many different
 sequences.

I'd be interested to see how many people really use this module in the wild.

Ok, this is my fault here I double check, and my network was available
when I build the package.

So perhaps was my original report said, this package is failing to build
whit the network available

 That's strange, because:
   t/06_hosts...NOK 1/3

   # Failed test 'lookup without hosts file (67.207.145.70)'
   # at t/06_hosts.t line 54.
[]

Ok I check this and It looks like the problem is that the package is
expecting a different IP address from poe.perl.org

1:1.01-1 is not failing since upstream update the IP address there.

 1) If I build the package from testing (after `ifdown eth0') the test
suite passes with:

 t/06_hosts...ok
 2/3 skipped: various reasons
All tests successful, 2 subtests skipped.

Ok, I tested again not just when I suppose that my network cable was
unplugged I tested after 'ifdown eth0` and indeed the tests are skipped.

 2) The package from testing has Tincho's patch applied (both in the
source package downloaded from testing and in svn [r15926]).

Ack.

But I have to admit that I have no idea why you get this error ...
The fact that you get this error and the output of the failed tests
looks like the patch is not applied?!

Ok, Sorry for the noise here, but There is still a problem building the
package, but now only when the network is available.

2008-09-24 Thread Rene Mayorga
Package: darkstat
Version: 3.0.708-1
Severity: grave
Justification: causes non-serious data loss

When darkstat is restarted using /etc/init.d/darkstat the file
/var/lib/darkstat.db is replaced with a new one.
This may cause data loss to the user on every system
reload or manual restart.

The problem here is that there is a workaround at /etc/init.d/darkstat
that is actually wrong, since misuse --import/--export options.

I'm filling this bug to document the issue and also I'm planning to ask
a freeze exception for lenny.

Bug#492696: Adding Padre to Debian

 Two obstacles:
[snip]

- Module::Inspector
- Probe::Perl
- File::LocalizeNewLines

I started work on Module::Inspector, but it has unpackaged
dependencies on ots own so no quick progress could be made.

And those are (at least the ones at META.yml):

Module::Extract
Module::Manifest
Module::Math::Depends

I'm not filling any ITP/RFP yet for any of this, so if anyone
have more time just go ahead.

Is Padre intended to pull all of CPAN into Debian? :-)

Indeed is a very elegant way to do this :)

Hi,

Adding python-all-dev and python-all to Build-Depends seen to help and
the package is not longer FTBFS with the same error, but then the
package still FTBFS with:

 org.apache.lucene.queryParser.ParseException --python lucene --mapping

 java.util.Properties

So, the patch from this bug is trivial, but this still produces FTBFS
with this package, and this means that #497131 need to be solved first.

testing this with the proposal action at #497131 solve this and then
pylucene build fine.

If the TimesNewRoman font is not included at report/classes.eps the

I attach a simple patch that comment-out TimesNewRoman from classes.eps

Bug#495125: RFA: afbackup -- Client-Server Backup System

2008-08-14 Thread Rene Mayorga

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the afbackup package; I'm stop using it for a
couple of month ago, and the package deserve more attention, Torsten
Werner (Co-maint) Agrees to have this RFA too.

The package description is:
This is a client-server backup system offering several workstations a
centralized backup to a special backup server. Backing up only one
computer is easily possible, too. Any streaming device can be used
for writing the data to it, usually this will be a tape
device. Writing backups is normally done sequentially: The
next
writing to tape goes to the end of the previous write no
matter where
you have restored from in the meantime

2) Have main module recommend formerly included submodules

Just for made this point clear, you suggest a Recommend directly to all

 Both. They serve different purpose.

Recommending virtual package is to indicate that the main module is
worthless standalone (but the user might have written her own custom
submodule or installed submodules manually, so depending is too strong.

Recommending formerly included packages is for backwards compatibility.
It might be better depending on them, but I believe recommends is strong
enough (with the added bonus that others _can_ avoid them if they wish).

Ok, so we will _Recommends_ the virtual-package
libhtml-wikiconverter-dialect provided by the formerly submodules
and also _Recommends_ the strictly package name for that submodules

IMHO this is enough and good for me.

(also I think that this bug is not grave, so I downgrading it to normal)

Good idea. Feel free to add patches, and get in touch with upstream
suggesting them to adopt those patches.

Actually I missed that html2wiki binary pokes the user about this change
(yes, I was one despite user too :))
So I'm only adding a note to HTML::WikiConverter POD noting this change.
Also I add the debian/NEWS file

Or we make the main package depend on the submodules formerly part of
  the module.

Having a dep on all the submodules will came to have a bunch of modules
installed, this also will follow to have the need to add a depend to
every -dialect module that could be added to the archive.

Not all of them - that's what the virtual package is for. Just the ones
formerly part of the main module.

And if we choose that apporach, then yes, other users not needing those
submodules are forced to install them anyway. We can drop the
dependencies after lenny+1 is released as stable.

Ack, and at this moment this is not a big issue the only packages
available are -wikiconverter-markdown and -wikiconverter-moinmoin
and the -wikiconverter-mediawiki ITP

This will not load too much considering that the previous package
contains this modules and several more

Alternatively we can rename the main package to -core, replacing it with
an empty transitional package hard-depending on -core and the used-to-be
submodules. that would avoid surprises for old users and also support
new users uninterested in the added dependencies. But I believe it
would violate Debian Perl Policy (main module is not called -core).

Yes, renaming to -core will conflicts with Debian Perl Policy naming
convention

I favor a combination of first and second option:

   1) Document that content of main module has changed
   2) Have main module recommend formerly included submodules

Just for made this point clear, you suggest a Recommend directly to all
formerly submodules or you suggest keeping the Recommends to the virtual
packages provides but the submodules?

   3) Drop explicit submodule-recommendations after lenny+1

Cheers.

 Sorry for my late response.

No problem :)

I agree that packaging the submodules formerly part of the main module
 is needed.

But I do not see how dropping the recommendation for a virtual package
shared among all submodules, and replacing that with suggesting only the
submodules formerly part of the module, can solve this bug.

The suggest was to add info to the POD and html2wiki binary in order to notice
the users about that the package was splitted.

IMHO having a dep in a virtual package will get the users to install the
first package which provide the virtual package, this could have a false bug
reports telling us that we are missing $foo wiki dialect.

I have no strong opinion about which is the best way to handle this
issue, thats the reason why I was asking for more input from you or the
debian-perl folks :)

2008-04-18 Thread Rene Mayorga
Hello Rowan,

Since 0.50 the upstream author decide to separated into different
packages the dialects used for
every wiki markup.
From upstram author:

version: 0.50
changes:
 - separate each dialect into is own CPAN package for maintainability

I read at Debian changelog that a virtual package was added to recommnds:
 * Recommend virtual package libhtml-wikiconverter-dialect as they
   are now packaged separately.

actually the the package is at Recommends field, but the package doesn't exists

I'm filling some ITPs, at least for MediaWiki and TiKiWiki markups

 acc.so in 1.3 isn't radius-enabled either in the current state. I'll
probably enable the three methods in the next upload.

Indeed,
when I build 1.3 package from experimental I has ENABLE_RADIUS_ACC=true
as env var at my work station.
I'm market the bug as found at 1.3.

Or were you only reporting the warning it outputs in this case?
 JB.

BTW regarding to your previous mail; I'm using postgresql and Radius
accounting with 1.2 and there is no problem, I did'nt try using it with

I have commit access at pkg-voip svn if you're busy I can add the proper

libmoose-perl fails tests cases when the 0.45-1 version of
libclass-mop-perl is used.

Anyway, the bug is solved with the newest version of libmoose-perl 0.31
and libclass-mop-perl 0.48 (the two packages are already upgraded at
pkg-perl svn repo)

In the case of libdevel-repl-perl(#453215),
libmoosex-getopt-perl(#453219) and
libmoosex-object-pluggable-perl(#453228)
they fail as they are using Moose::*, and they can even load Moose
module as is reported at this bug.

The newest versiong

Pod::Spell is a Pod formatter whose output is good for spellchecking.
Pod::Spell rather like Pod::Text, except that it doesn't put much
effort into actual formatting, and it suppresses things that look like Perl
symbols or Perl jargon (so that your spellchecking program won't
complain about mystery words like `$thing' or `Foo::Bar' or
 hashref).

This is caused by a missing Depends in libexosip2-dev, which needs

libexosip2 should be compiled without support for SSL/TLS instead?

actually, libexosip2 is not compiled with SSL/TLS support

Can you check on the affected computer that you have a program called
822-date and if so send me its output.

I suspect it is related to that.

Indeed:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ 822-date
Can't locate controllib.pl in @INC (@INC
contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8

/usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/bin/822-date line 11.

So, this is related with dpkg-dev instead dh-make and is already
reported (#440962)

I create symlink of controllib.pl in a place where Perl could find it
and dh-make works fine

Bug#166994: Info and Changing ownership

2007-07-31 Thread Rene Mayorga
owner 166994 !
notfound 166994 1.4.9-3
thanks

Hi, hence I've an ITA for this bug, I'm changing the ownership.

I try to reproduce the bug On the current version at unstable(1.4.9-3)
and on the newest upstream version(1.5.1), with the code that you post
here,

Now, Quota::strerr() return a #0 value.
The changes to the Quota values are working too

I look info on the Upstream Changelog about this bug, I did'nt find it,
I'm adding tags, but, I'm still not closing, I'll prefer to recive more
info, but IMHO the bug seens solved.

Cheers
