Bug#526272: ekiga: Add an option to ring through PC-Speaker

2009-04-30 Thread Rene Pavlik
Package: ekiga
Version: 2.0.12-1+nmu1+b1
Severity: wishlist

Actually, I just started to use v3.3.0 SVN snapshot.

In this version, it is possible to ring through an alternative device.
Even these days, every computer should have a PC Speaker. It would be nice
to add an option to ring the PCSpeaker. I have only a headset and if not have
it on my ears, or stay away from the computer, I usually miss the call, because
the sound from the headset was not loud enough.

Bug#512349: acpi-support: Asus wireless: radio disabled (/etc/acpi/asus-wireless.sh called twice)

2009-01-19 Thread Rene Pavlik
Package: acpi-support
Version: 0.109-10
Severity: important

On an ASUS notebook, I managed to get the wireless interface working.
The only trouble right now is causes by conflicting of acpi-support and acpid
packages.
When only "acpid" package is installed, it seems to work as expected. The
problem
in this case is the non-functional "brightness", "volume up, down, mute" acpi
buttons.
If the "acpi-support" package is installed, these buttons work ok, but the
wireless has the radio disabled.
It is caused by the fact, that the script "/etc/acpi/asus-wireless.sh" is called
twice. Since it does just the "toggle" function controlling the radio, it
switches it on and off again. Sometimes, the LED blinks one time which ensures
this opinion.

Bug#475368: aptitude looses keyboard focus on a system without utf-8 locales

2008-04-10 Thread Rene Pavlik
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.4.11.1-1
Severity: normal

Problem desc:
- after performing install/uninstall action and pressing Enter to return back to
the aptitude screen, it seems like usually but aptitude does NOT react on any
key pressed. You have to pres Ctrl+C to break aptitude and get the command
line
prompt. What will surprise you is that all the pressed keys have been written
to the prompt instead of captured by aptitude.

When it happens:
- happens on Eterm, xterm (no other tested) when using locales != utf-8, in my
  case iso8859-2
- when using utf-8, in all terminals, even Eterm and xterm it works fine and

Bug#466962: manpage: wrong example for the MINICOM variable

2008-02-21 Thread Rene Pavlik
Package: minicom
Version: 2.3~rc1-2
Severity: normal

In the manual page for minicom, there is an example how to set up the MINICOM
variable to give minicom commandline arguments without the need to give it to
the cmd line everytime.
The example is wrong: the apostrophes which are used here have completely
different meaning in
the shell then quoting the arguments.
Used: MINICOM=’-m -c on’
Must be: MINICOM='-m -c on'

I found this bug when copying this line to the terminal and executing it.

Bug#454371: openvpn: initscript doesn't stop asking the pass phrase

2007-12-04 Thread Rene Pavlik
Package: openvpn
Version: 2.0.9-8
Severity: normal

At system startup, the /etc/init.d/openvpn script is invoked. It shows up the
question about entering the passphrase but it somehow automatically eats a text
(maybe the delayed output of other starting processes) saying that this
"passphrase" is not valid, auth fails and it silently continues with the system
startup.
The result is that I'm not even able to enter the passphrase and to
initialize the VPN connection at system startup. I have to log in as root
afterwards and initialize the VPN manually - by calling the same script again
(in this case I'm asked for the passphrase as expected).
