Bug#1062932: Stable 12.5 still broken
Hello, Thanks for fixing the issue. However the fixed version is currently available only in sid and the version from sid doesn't install on bookworm due to requirement on dkms (>= 3.0.11 while bookworm 3.0.10-8+deb12u1). Are there any plans to port the fixed version to bookworm? In years of using Debian I've never seen the stable distribution be broken like this and it would be a shame if it wouldn't be fixed very quickly. Br, -Roberto

Bug#583774: Same problem here
I've exactly the same issue (with the same errors in .xsession-errors) on a machine I've updated from lenny to squeeze. I'm not using an intel video adapter there but an nvidia. I've noticed that besides gnome-panel not showing up at the same time two processes were consuming about 30% CPU each: udisks-daemon and dbus-daemon. I found a temporary workaround that allows gnome to start up normally (but prevents gnome to detect when a disk in inserted in the system and also causes file explorer to crash when trying browsing a removable device): removing the org.freedesktop.UDisks.conf file from /etc/dbus-1/system.d. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
