Bug#389129: crashes: missing runtime dep on kdebase-bin

2006-09-24 Thread Roberto Pariset
Package: kmobiletools
Version: 0.4.3.2-2
Severity: important

Hi,

when I load kmobiletools it crashes with this error:

Using KUniqueApplication
kmobiletools: Forcing device to close
KCrash: Application 'kmobiletools' crashing...
Could not find 'drkonqi' executable.
KCrash cannot reach kdeinit, launching directly.
X Error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) 3
  Major opcode: 7
  Minor opcode: 0
  Resource id: 0x3c000c0
ICE default IO error handler doing an exit(), pid = 6205, errno = 0

apt-file returned kdebase-bin: usr/bin/drkonqi hence I believe it should
be added to deps.

Thanks,
Roberto

No, drkonqui is the crash-reporting apps for kde, so you cannot

Ah, shame on me :)

the crash of kmt cames from the the line after:
KCrash cannot reach kdeinit, launching directly..
Are you using kmobiletools in a non-KDE environment?

Yes, I am using Xfce.
Is it one of those apps that needs KDE to run?

Can you try to build the latest version of kmobiletools? you can find
 the deb-src on
 http://mentors.debian.net/cgi-bin/sponsor-pkglist?action=details;package=kmobiletools
  .

Done. I am still experiencing weird behaviour and crashes, at different
times. What am I looking for? Make it run stable on !KDE?

After trying it again it seems it works. Meaning: if I plug my phone and
then I run kmobiletools then I can browse SMSs and phonebook. However, if I
first start it and then plug the phone (as I did last time) I get a crash.
Backtrace attached. Good luck and no worries, I am not in a hurry, and next

Bug#344401: firefox crashes when printing

2006-09-20 Thread Roberto Pariset
Package: firefox
Version: 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.7-1
Followup-For: Bug #344401

Hi,

I _never_ experienced Firefox crashes on printing until this morning. I am
using and up-to-date Sid with Firefox 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.7-1.

Running firefox -g, I can see that the last things prompted when dying
are:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

0x2abc1aff7750 in FcFontSetSortDestroy () from /usr/lib/libfontconfig.so.1

So it could be something related to libfontconfig. I have a very similar
issue with Tunderbird (#388001), and I found that out very recently too.

All the best,
Roberto

Bug#382297: me too!

2006-08-16 Thread Roberto Pariset

I get this error as well. More detailed output, if it can help, is:

[...]
video_out_xv: VO_PROP_ASPECT_RATIO(0)
gnome_vfs init_input_class
gnome-vfs not initialised
params.c:OpenConfFile() - Unable to open configuration file

params.c:OpenConfFile() - Unable to open configuration file
/etc/samba/smb.conf:

config line

Removing /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.1.2/xineplug_inp_smb.so solves it indeed.

I am on amd64 too. Is this amd64 only?

Cheers,
Rob

PS. This obviously affects not only xine-ui and gxine, but also things like
xfmedia and anything else that depends on libxine1.

Bug#358442: thunderbird: Unable to save attached mail attachments

2006-07-01 Thread Roberto Pariset

Alexander Sack - Debian Bugmail wrote:

I can save attachments which are files, but if someone sends me an email
as attachment, and this attached-mail has some attachments too, I can't
save them (I am asked to check file name and try again).

Hmmm ... I cannot reproduce this behaviour ... could you please try to
forward yourself a mail as attachment and try to reproduce?

Maybe there is something special about the mail that causes these
troubles?

If you can, compare the message source (Ctrl-U) of a message that is
working with a message that does not? Maybe you can identify something
weird (different) in the mail you cannot save?

If I store a mail of that bad kind as mail.eml and open it with a
different (new) profile, I still can't Open the attached file, but I can
Save As, which makes me quite happy :) Also, the attached message is
displayed as inline.

Therefore, I believe my own profile is obsolete in some part of its
configuration, probably because it was created with an older Thunderbird.

Do you know, by any chance, what configuration file could possibly hold
settings related to attachments? My plan would be overwriting that file,
without creating a new profile, in order not to add all my accounts again.

Thanks,
Roberto

I will do that but this is actually a bug in configure: it says
test -n $LEX || LEX=$missing_dir/missing flex
instead of
test -n $LEX || LEX=$missing_dir/missing flex

gp2c does not need flex to build since it ships a copy of the lang.c file.

Ah :) Well, if it builds fine with the new configure without flex, then
there's no need to add flex. I just didn't think it was a configure problem :)

All the best,
Rob

Bug#374034: missing dependencies to get verve-focus working

2006-06-16 Thread Roberto Pariset
Package: xfce4-verve-plugin
Version: 0.3.0-1
Severity: normal

Dearest Xfce maintainers,

as reported on [1], it is possible to bind a key to verve-focus to allow
(guess?) verve plugin to have focus. This needs D-BUS bindings for Python.
So python2.4-dbus should be added to dependencies. In addiction,
python{,2.4}-gtk2 is required too.

Then, /usr/bin/verve-focus first line should be patched in this way:
- #!/usr/bin/env python
+ #!/usr/bin/env python2.4

After doing this, one would think to have things done. There we go:

$ verve-focus
Introspect error: The name org.xfce.RunDialog was not provided by any .service

Bug#363183: missing hearder

2006-06-06 Thread Roberto Pariset

Hello,

detected error is:
certtool-cfg.c:289: warning: implicit declaration of function 'getpass'

and a consequence of it is:

certtool-cfg.c:289: warning: return makes pointer from integer without a cast

Indeed, certtool-cfg.c misses #include unistd.h which defines the
function char *getpass(). Being getpass() defaulted to int, get_pass()
complains for having an int instead of a char*, which on ia64 have
different size. Hence the issue.

In short: the code seems to just misses the header.

All the best,
Roberto

It's not building the udeb libraries for some reason. Could you give me
a pointer to the full build log, please?

Here it is:
http://buildd.debian.org/build.php?arch=amd64pkg=popt

Could the compiler/autoconf be putting the libraries in something like
lib-amd64, perhaps?

You got it! Recompiling locally I found out it's lib64:

~/codice/debian/FTBFS/popt-1.10$ ls -R debian/tmp-udeb/usr/
debian/tmp-udeb/usr/:

include lib64 share

debian/tmp-udeb/usr/include:

File /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.1.0/include/emmintrin.h holds

Bug#358442: thunderbird: Unable to save attached mail attachments

2006-03-22 Thread Roberto Pariset
Package: thunderbird
Version: 1.5-4
Severity: important

Hi,
I can save attachments which are files, but if someone sends me an email
as attachment, and this attached-mail has some attachments too, I can't
save them (I am asked to check file name and try again).
It's really annoying...
I had this behaviour also with the thunderbird version before the
current, but I hoped to see it fixed with 1.5. Since it seems it's not,
I decided to file this bug.
But it's not all :) In the version before the current, the attached-mail
contained itself as attachment (along with normal attachment), so that
it was possible to experience something like recursion... In this
version instead, if I open a context menu on any attached file, and
choose Open, then no action is performed.
I'd not exclude some of my configuration file to have got corrupted and
cause this all...

Thanks,
Roberto

Hi again,
I am using sid thunderbird 1.5-4 on amd64. I don't know if it happens to
you too, but it crashes pretty often, without apparent reason. I was
replying a mail before writing this, and it crashed 3 times, always when
I hit the 'Canc' key, with some text selected. It's not really
reproducible: I'd say the it crashed always after hitting 'Canc' on
selected text, but hitting 'Canc' on selected text doesn't always make
it crash. So it's somehow randomic. After the second time I started it
from a shell, and the output of the 3rd crash was:

By 'Canc' key I mean the one referred as Delete in the following

Bug#355775: FTBFS: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type

2006-03-07 Thread Roberto Pariset
Package: multipath-tools
Version: 0.4.6-1+b1
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source

Hi,
multipath-tools fails to build on all arch. Error is:

[...]
edd.c: In function 'get_edd_info':
edd.c:59: warning: implicit declaration of function
'sysfs_open_directory'
edd.c:59: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast
edd.c:62: warning: implicit declaration of function
'sysfs_read_all_subdirs'
edd.c:63: error: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
[...]

It's very probable that it's not totally multipath-tools fault:
in fact I believe it's something related to sysfs (please check
#355335). However, there's a considerable amount of wrong casts, which
should be fixed.

Thanks,
Roberto

2006-03-05 Thread Roberto Pariset
found 254089 0.69-3
thanks

Hello,
compilation still fails on amd64.

Probably the configure script wasn't regenerated, as Kurt noticed, since
re-running autoconf 2.13 or 2.59 makes it build correctly.

Thanks,
Roberto

Bug#354847: FTBFS: 1.15.1-4 fails 2 tests on amd64

I just had a look, and I can't tell much from that level of the build
log. These failures are completely unexpected, and I suspect I'll need
your help to understand what the problem actually is. If you still have
the build tree around, you should find some log files under the test
directory for these two tests that show the details of what happened.
It may be obvious to you on inspecting these what the problem is, if not
please feel free to forward them to me for review and analysis.

Here it is. I still haven't been able to look at it, and I think I won't be
for a few days. If I find out something I'll let you know.

Please remember that it builds on my box as well on Kurt Roeckx's, so it's
probably just some odd buildd chroot thing.

All the best,
Roberto

Bug#354943: FTBFS: please remove Makefile

2006-03-02 Thread Roberto Pariset
Package: jpilot
Version: 0.99.8-0.99.9-pre-20060225-2
Severity: serious
Tags: patch
Justification: fails to build from source

Hello,
jpilot 0.99.8-0.99.9-pre-20060225-2 doesn't compile on many arches. The
problems is that it's missing the .deps directory. Example:
Makefile:551: .deps/address.Po: No such file or directory
[...]
Solution to this would be simply erase the Makefile: by doing so, in fact,
configure will be forced to rerun and .deps will be generated.

Thanks,
Roberto

Bug#324030: 3.1.2-2 FTBFS again on amd64

2006-03-01 Thread Roberto Pariset
Hello,
swt-gtk_3.1.2-2 is failing again (at least) on amd64. Errors are similar to
the following one. There are still many cast warnings as well.

[...]
g++ -O -DXPCOM_GLUE=1 -DMOZILLA_STRICT_API=1 -fno-rtti -fno-exceptions
-Wall -DSWT_VERSION=3139 -Wno-non-virtual-dtor -fPIC -I.
-I/usr/include/mozilla -I/usr/include/mozilla/nspr -I/include
-I/include/linux -c xpcom.cpp
xpcom.cpp: In function 'jint
Java_org_eclipse_swt_internal_mozilla_XPCOM_PR_1Malloc(JNIEnv*, _jclass*,
jint)':
xpcom.cpp:144: error: cast from 'void*' to 'jint' loses precision
[...]

Please check the last log at:
http://amd64.ftbfs.de/build.php?arch=pkg=swt-gtk

Thanks,
Roberto

PS. should the bug be reopened?
